As Sir Alex calls it "Squeeky bum time"
'Sir Alex'? Alex Ferguson will do. ;)

The Newcastle comparison is more to do with Keegan, the messiah returning than anything else. I would say ye are more like the Arsenal of last season,eg complaining about Bolton [Coonagh] and Blackburn [Shelbourne] being over physical:) Only messing, best of luck for the season. No more anti-park. Ye are my favourite team in Shannon;)
Thats some turn around!!! You going soft on us bud? Only kidding. Good to keep the peace, on with the 1b football chatter :)

Cheers for that. Afternoon kick off would put a serious dampner on us. A few lads would most likely be in pub for so called 'Grand Slam Sunday'. Two nil nils I reckon. Anyway thanks again for info.

I would have freaked if we had a game in the afternoon. Thankfully not so its off to the pub.:D

Why? He has earned it!!

Only UK citizens are obliged to address him as Sir. Just like only UK, or dual citizens are entitled to use Sir or Dame before their name as in Sir Bob Geldof or Sir Terry Wogan. But Bono can not even though he too has been knighted as he does not have dual citizenship.

So in Ireland he is Alex Ferguson. And dont get me wrong, Im a United fan and he has definitely deserved everything he has received but it only applies in the UK.

Back on topic...a couple of results from this morning:

Park 4-2 Knockainey
Pike 0-2 Prospect...last I heard

Two very good wins there if Prospect finished the same.

Ya Prospect won 2 nil good win considering they were missing 5 from their first 11. Their b team have a cup final after dinner so they could'nt use any of those. Heard view won 3 nil out in murroe very good win for them and a good win for park aswell Knockainey are never easy. Wide open again at the top....

Why have prospect got 5 "A" players signed "B"? Good win for Park, maybe they are out to prove me and others wrong. The attitude must of changed from last week.

No 2 of those lads were away in Liverpool 1 guy was away working and the others never showed they were at a 21st the night before. Their b team had a cup final after dinner so their manager would only leave a couple of them play which is understandable.

Pike 0-2 Prospect. Gutted to be honest lads. We had enough chances to win three games here. Prospect were more clinical with their chances. We gave them a game up until 15 minutes to go when ref awarded them their second goal which was offside. He apologised to our manager afterwards saying 'I got it wrong for the second goal'. He had a good game other than that, but it killed us off. Still, if we had taken our chances it wouldn't have mattered. On to the next game..

Sorry to hear that. Prospect and Fairview are right behind ye now. It really is getting tight up there. Prospect aren't as strong as Fairview in my opinion, but they aren't bad.

Getting intresting down the bottom now aswell. Our games in hand are fast disappearing and we could yet be sucked in. We still have Abbey and Holycross at home, St Pats and Murroe away so it's very much in our hands. As for the top, well that's even tighter. Any 2 from 6. Could well be that 1b is the most intresting division in Limerick for the run in.. (New table with Pike played 13)

I can only think of 9 games we have left. Away to Croom, Coonagh, Shels, Knockainey, Murroe and St. Pats. Home to Abbey, Park and Holycross.

Your spot on. I have togged out for our A team in the past but was exempt from the A cup. So it applies in our league aswell. So if they do have a few B players they will not be eligible.

They'll have to be watched so cos i hear their known for fielding players who aren't even signed especialy with an A and B team.

Personally I can't see that many points taking 2nd. I think maybe 38/40 will take it. Anyone have an opinion on the required points?

Well how many points do you see Park finishing with? If it's 38 to 40 I reckon your not going up. There are 21 points still there for ye to play for. To finish on 38 or 40 would see ye only pick up 10 or 12 points from those last 7 games. Hardly optimistic is it??

Thank you for your opinion and I understand what your saying. But I didn't say that's all we would get it was meant as a minimum requirement..
Our last seven games read as follows.
Home
St. Pats, Prospect
Away
Murroe, Abbey, Fairview B, Pike B, Croom.

Apologies. I misunderstood your point. So how many points are ye targeting from those games? I fancy ye to get 12. A loss, 3 wins 3 draws.. Will that take ye up if I am right? Close one methinks..

He apologised to our manager afterwards saying 'I got it wrong for the second goal'.

What he actually said was he apologised IF he made a mistake but he was pretty sure it was onside.

In other words the ref thought he called it correctly, you have misquoted him.

Well it was a mile offside whatever way you said it ref. And I was there to hear your apology to our manager straight after full time whistle. Either way as I said to begin with, it wouldn't have mattered if we took our 27 chances... :) :) Not to worry Ref?? You made only that one mistake. S##t happens. ;)
