Not sure about this one, will give it another couple of episodes.

Seems to me that as long as you catch the first five minutes, and the last five, then you haven't actually missed anything.

I find Eastbound & Down pretty funny. It's very stupid but funny at the same time. It's produced/written by Will Ferrell, afaik, so that'd give you an idea of it.

New show started last week in the US called White Collar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Collar). It's decent and will fill the void after 3 other shows I watched finished a few weeks back. The guy who played Bryce Larkin in Chuck is the main man in this one.

Flash Forward actually looked interesting this week, anyone confirm this? I may be wrong as I haven't managed to see the whole episode yet.

Will have to look out for white collar, enjoy burn notice - don't like how how it sandwiches a story between the, often totally unrelated, bits that advance the story arc, enjoyable romp none the less.

Would like to recommend a couple of comedies.

Community, with Chevy Chase - he popped up somewhere else too recently (oh boy!), but think that show's been recommended already :)

Also Modern Family, with Ed O'Neil.

I have to say i'm enjoying Modern Family. Its definately a breathe of fresh as opposed to 95% of the crap on TV these days. Ed O' Neil, who plays the grandfather, is brilliant :D I would recommend it :)

Modern family has my missus in stitches (the chubby gay guy in particular). I don't mind it and it's easy to watch.

Just watched Firefly followed by the film Serenity and thought it was quality.

Started watching V yesterday, watched the first 4 episodes, good so far.

My regular shows are (beware girly shows included) One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Bones, Criminal Minds

Any fans of Mad Men here ? Just finished Season 3 - the best yet. No other programme evokes a time and place like this one.

Love Mad Men myself. Only gotten as far as the end of Season 2 yet though I hear it gets even better. It really is like a snaphot of the 60s. Oh and I wish I was married to January Jones.

I think the original thread was they had to be in production, but I'm uprating the Soprano's. I've started it again, and I'm enjoying it more second time around (I don't know whether not having to wait a week is making a difference).

I found the same, and with other series as well. You'd forget little things from week to week. Box set is really the way to go. A lot of the time I'll just wait until that comes out before I get into a programme.

Have to agree with you, watched it first time round on BBC and waited patiently for it to be released on DVD. Brilliantly written by Craig Cash who played "Joe" and Phil Mealy who played his friend and constant drinking partner "Duffy". Waited patiently for a third series but it never materialised.

Couple of recommendations to watch out for this year from HBO. Boardwalk Empire (http://www.hbo.com/boardwalk-empire/index.html), which looks like it's going to be a 1920's style Sopranos that will start around September/October. The Pacific (http://www.hbo.com/the-pacific/index.html), which starts on March 14th.

Really looking forward to this, if it's even half as well made as Band of Brothers it'll be brilliant!

saw the first episode of the pacific last night. Starts off slow, and picks up in the last 15-20 minutes.

I watched the first 5 seasons of Entourage over Christmas. It's great stuff altogether. The 6th season isn't available until the 22nd June I think, too long to wait and the seasons are pretty short to make it worse (12 episodes x 27mins each approx). Johnny Drama's the funniest guy on TV I think!

Wouldn't normally be into medical programmes but enjoy 'House'. I am near the end of season 3. It is very repetitive with regards to the actual medical issue in each episode but Dr.House has some great one-liners and the sarcasm is excellent.

House is an excellent series. Most of the one liners are excellent and Hugh Laurie plays House superbly. I'm on the current series which is six.

been watchin SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND, once you get over all the nudity (and there is quiet a bit) its actually a fairly decent show, a lot of people say its like ROME which i didnt see, deffinately recommend,

watchin THE PACIFIC, looks like it will be a good show, first 3 eps have a bit of everything, the first 2 they get straight into it, the third being a bit slow war wise but more caracter driven (there on shore leave for it, in austrailia)

:shame:From out of the blue and I will probably get slaughtered for it but BBC kids sketch show. a few familar faces in it

'Sorry I've got no head' (no double entrendre) - some midly amusing characters, Witchfinder General, the Blue beards etc, beats some of the rubbish that is aimed at adults

Trailer Park Boys - I'm sure at some time or another everyone has seen an episode. it's a very simple format, people living in splendid squalor in Nova Scotia, shooting guns, doing drugs and getting drunk. Trying every get rich quick scheme possible and all with an acid Canadian sense of irony and humour. I lived next to NS and friends of mine lived in a Trailer Park (near me) and to be honest it was quite luxurious. However when my ex suggested we "invest" in a trailer.....I didn't need to but I asked my folks anyway - "What next, selling gates and carpets out of a ford transit?" Great series and the recent movie was hilarious.

Wonderful show, brilliant characters, and the daftest plots. I love the oddball bits in it too, like Ray with his collection of p*ss jugs, Julian with the rum and coke in his hand all the time, The Green B@stard :D
Haven't seen the film though, will look out for that.

I spent 4 hours watching series 6 and the start of 7 of Trailer Park Boys. I'd recently seen the new movie and it was good, but looking at the series I want to watch the special episode - Halloween or Christmas (I'm blanking on it). It all about how the show kicked off. Wonderful show and gets better with each viewing.

Caught an episode or two of the Ricky Gervais show (or some such). Basically an animated (as in, cartoon) three-way discussion over silly things with two people continually taking the p!ss out of a third, credulous, guy. I think. Good craic though. I think the way Gervais and the other lad can actually properly laugh at the third guy helps a lot. I'm assuming he's in on it as well though, and if they're ad-libbing as well, it's very well done.
