The Thick of It back for (probably) the final season on Saturday night (hopefully to be repeated, as it clashes with the omnishambles that is the LoI first division!).
Got around to watching Skins recently, have completed the first four series and it's well worth a watch. I think the last two episoded of series two are among the best of any series I've watched, really heartbreaking at times. The cast of three and four probably wasn't as strong overall and the tone was very light for series three, gets darker as it progresses but really wasn't a big fan of the conclusion to series four.
Sorry PI, by series one and two do you mean those with Tony as central character and by series 3and 4 those with Effy as the central character?
I loved one and two and have only recently started series three and am enjoying it so far.

Yeah exactly that. The Effy series are by no means bad and there's some interesting strands but it didn't quite grip me as much and I though only one of stories had a satisfactory conclusion. Felt a bit rushed maybe, another couple of episodes would have been better.

Anyone watch Lillyhammer on BBC4 there staring Steven Van Zant of Sopranos and E-street band fame. Thought it was good enough myself nothing special but seen a lot worse. Had meant to post about this to let people know this morning but only remembered about it shortly before it started
I watched Lilyhammer last night. It was an ok opening - certainly shows potential. Doesn't have me rushing off to acquire it, but I'll be watching the next episode.

Been off sick for a few days so took advantage of the UPC on demand box series option. watched a fair bit of 'The Good Wife'. Way better than I expected. Legal drama but doesn't get preachy.

Homeland is a cracking show. I'd advise anyone who hasn't seen the first season to watch it before the 2nd one starts on RTE.
Watching a lot of American Horror Story and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Both are pretty decent, without engaging me to the extent that Homeland did.
All I want is for Larry David to get off his ass and finish making a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Missus and I started watching Community at the weekend. Her pick. Almost done the first season. Very enjoyable, easy to watch comedy fare. Chevy Chase, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash are immense.

Chevy Chase, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash are immense. If you like that, give Parks and Recreation a look. The first series has only six episodes, and to be honest you can skip them and miss nothing. From the second series on, it's comedy gold.
Have watched season1 and found it great Chevy chase is excellent, but have heard from others it get a bit repetitive after season2season 2 is the high point, lot of season 3 is just treading water, although still miles ahead of most things on TV at the moment
Season 4 is about to start in a few weeks, with the show's creator and show runner, Dan Harmon, removed so a lot of the fans are worried about the quality dropping
Really good Q&A with him on Reddit here: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/yne9x/i_am_dan_harmon_creator_of_community_writer_of/?sort=old

Just finished Season 2 here. I thought Chase was the weak link in the first season actually. He's much more fun in Season 2 because he gets to play the villain in a number of episodes.
Pudi and Glover are the finds of the show for me.

Was given a couple of dvd's with Boss (Frasier unbound). Got through the first series late last night and am not quite sure about it. At points it's touching (Father daughter interactions), in other parts ott (beatings and murders) and then a bit gratuitous/superfluous (sex scenes). Not bad to watch as the winter closes, but still not sure how to take it.
Oh, and in case anyone wants to know (this based on the movie) "Crows" - or "Everybody loves Raymond" for Russians, is going strong and is actually quite okay. There was a movie made by this really whiny guy who came to oversee the casting and writing etc with some really overbearing Yank arrogance at times, but it's a great watch to see how far apart the countries are and how culturally unaware he is.

Fourth episode of the series last night. Have to say it started off slowly enough, but it's been getting better as it's gone along. Last night's episode was probably the first of the current series that's been every bit as good as what's gone before (most of series 7 excepted), but they've all been decent. Viewable on the Dave TV website for the next few days for those who missed it.

Secret State starts on Channel 4 this wednesday 7th November at 10pm. "Gabriel Byrne stars as deputy prime minister Tom Dawkins, who's thrust to the fore by catastrophic events, and ends up forced to take on the might of the establishment" also stars Charles Dance. Looks a good show

I've only seen up to season 2. I've heard season 3 isn't of quite the same standard. They fired Dan Harmon after 3. Season 4 hasn't started airing yet.

Watched some of "Go On" over the weekend. It's a sitcom with Matthew Perry playing a cynical radio sports show, shock jock type, who has to attend counselling sessions after his wife’s death before he can return to work.
Got through about 6 or 7 episodes and it was definitely enjoyable, some very funny moments and touches on some darker themes. Perry is very good and the supporting cast is full of recognisable faces that are used pretty well.
Worth checking out, I'm sure it will be picked up by a channel over here fairly soon.

Anyone catch a show called Workaholics yet? It's only run for one season, don't think it hit TV over here yet. But download it or watch it online if you can. Fantastic show about a 3 guys working in a call centre in America, getting up to all sorts of shenanigans.

Watched my first full episode last night (which turned out to be the last ep of season 2) and I had a good few laugh-out-loud moments. I will definitely getting stuck into this on 4OD over the next while.

Watched a load of that whilst on planes in the Canada/US in July. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Really likeable characters. It will definitely be going on the watch-list on Netflix over Christmas.
