Another late sub appearance - hopefully a sign that Farke will give him some more time in the league run-in and the cup so that we can seriously think about him as an option in The Nations League

you'd have to give him credit, he's one of the most two footed finishers we have produced in recent years. right footed but he scores plenty with his left.

Glad Norwich will get relegated as they won't hold on to Pukki and Idah will get more game time in Championship. Thought Obafemi was disappointing tonight, perhaps a lack of match sharpness.

Came on for ten minutes in Norwich's defeat to Everton and really put himself about - forced Coleman into conceding a throw before holding the ball up well in the corner to force another throw; made a charge into the box before being dispossessed; created a chance for himself on the edge of the box - chested a cross down before spinning and shooting on the turn, only for it to be deflected for a corner. I'm beginning to get a feeling that Idah is on the verge of a big breakthrough - he just needs Farke to give him more time against one of the bottom-half teams, rather than giving Drmic yet another chance.

Did very well vs Coleman for throw but probably could have down and won free kick...
The run where he was disposed was unfortunate. He cut inside to pass to a player who had just pulled up injured. So then he had to turn back and run down a head end.
Decent shot from nothing too...
Simmering nicely...

Connolly, Idah and Obafemi have done well now in their appearances thus far. The break them no harm. In fact, it seems to have been a nice reset opportunity for Connolly and Idah from a mental and confidence perspective. And we have heard Obafemi's professionalism questioned by himself and his manager previously but he hasn't come back in bad old shape either.

Continued to be pleasantly surprised by how he is developing. Solid half of football today. One nice shot and plenty of nice layoffs. Feeding off scraps. Looks physically stronger than he did a few months ago as well. Pukki and Drmic have been terrible since re-start. You have to fancy his chances of playing a significant part in the final 6 games. 7 points from safety with 6 games left for Norwich.
I am hoping Norwich, West Ham and Bournemouth get relegated. This will give Idah, Kilkenny, Travers (Boruc gone and Ramsdale will be sold), and Coventry (Rice will be sold, Sanchez already gone) excellent opportunities to establish themselves in the Championship. Omobamidele will be 19 next year, gotta fancy his chances in getting into that Norwich defense in the Championship if he continues to develop positively

Saw Connolly play yesterday, similarly feeding off scraps but did well, won a few frees, got probably the best shot against De Gea of the match and a few nice dummies. Overall did well in difficult circumstances...
Wouldn't mind Watford going down instead of Bournemouth, not sure Ramsdale would be sold anyway. He's got plenty of potential but it's not like he's so good that he'd instantly walk into many Premier League team's first 11. Like for example, I'd take Randolph over him, who is currently West Ham's no. 2.

Yeah, I tuned in for the second half and he almost made the perfect start after coming on - didn't really put a foot wrong with what little possession he had after that - holding the ball up well, fast turns, tidy passes - he really is starting to look like the full package. I think Farke has made a big mistake by not being brave enough to give him significant game time earlier in the campaign against lower-placed teams. Oh well, hopefully his outing against Preston in the Cup is be a sign of things to come next season.

With a report on how precarious the Hammers' financial situation is (https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/53215371) relegation might mean a wholesale sell-off of senior players and might open the door early for Odubeko. However, they just beat Chelsea, which puts them three clear of the drop

I'm getting annoyed by Idah's teammates. In the recent game at Chelsea, he came on in the second-half, with Norwich 1-0 down and needing goals to stay in the Premier League. Soon after, he was fouled just inside Chelsea's half and went to the penalty are to wait for the free. The player taking the free knocked it back to a player at the half-way line, who played it to a player well inside the Norwich half, who played it back to Krul. A few minutes later Idah won a throw across from the Chelsea penalty area and went to the box to await a cross. The Norwich player threw it back fifteen yards and three passes later it was back with Krul.
Now you'd think that today, Farke would give Idah a start, now that survival is impossible. But no, he gives Drmic yet another shot. The result? First Buendia and then freakin' Drimic get sent off so that Norwich can now no longer afford to have a striker at all and by the time Farke sends Idah on with five minutes to go, Norwich are two men and two goals down and there's nothing he can do.
It's good that Farke is giving Idah minutes but clearly it's now time to give him minutes that matter - I've said it before: I think this lad could be the complete package and could be on the verge of breaking out in a big way if given a proper chance - I hope he tears it up in The Championship next season

This Drmic fella hasn't reached double figures in a season in 6 or 7 years and is being preferred to Idah and contributing nothing and getting sent off. I would have been hoping Idah was given starting opportunities now that they are relegated or even prior to that. But Farke has a decent record in bringing through young players at Norwich so it is difficult to point that finger at him like we did earlier in the season at Mourinho in relation to Parrott.
As you say, hopefully he rips it up in the Championship. His rate of progression and the condensed off-season will hopefully suit a young lad like him. It may also work in his favour that he won't be facing intimating away crowds in the first few Championship games.

Think it was a backpass intercepted and squared to him for a handy goal but as a wise man said, the score board or score sheet doesn't tell stories.

Suicidal. A tap-in, but a great boost for Idah.
Recent games suggest Kenny considers him his best option at centre-forward, and In Norwich's 4-2-3-1 I can't see him starting ahead of Pukki and Hugill in that role too many times this term, though getting games in a wide position may be achievable.

One of those goals that look simple enough but he knew exactly where to go, and made sure he put space between himself and the defenders. Decisive finish. Nice to see him score early in the campaign.

I went to Stearman’s wiki to look that up and looks like someone has entered this on his bio — lovely.
“He is very popular amongst Norwich City fans due to his extremely generous "defending" each time he faces the club.”
Interesting FAI pursued him to point of him getting passport and never got a call up. That said, centre half usually the last position we’re in need of bolstering.

Not great to be hearing about a young lad:
"Adam will be a bit in the spotlight and I'm delighted for him," he said.
"I'm allowed to tell you a secret, I had a proper outburst with Adam Idah during this week because I didn't have the feeling he was focused on us.
CraftyToePoke

Not focused on Norwich it suggests, so what or which club shifted his focus ? Or maybe he was reliving his international bow a bit too much. Or maybe a coke n hookers binge, could be anything couldn't it ?

Bit of context in the full story. Seems to suggest he was just a bit distracted after being away on international duty. Probably just a young lad who was still had his head in the clouds after achieving such a massive ambition at a very young age.

Suggestions yes, nothing concrete, a young lad getting carried away with himself its a bit premature, even stranger that his manager has to come out to the media and mention it.
Anyway, he lives and he learns. Onwards and upwards

Au Contraire, his manager coming out publicly about it could well be a bit of a kick up the hole to Idah.

True, thats another way of looking at it, but you'd think the start of a new footballing week he wouldnt need to bring it up again - which is what he has done.

Sounds like Idah impressed with his contribution off the bench. A lot of fans calling for his inclusion next week citing his obvious physicality, but also his hunger and adaptability, which is encouraging.

That makes for great reading in many ways but I see the point highlighted over and over that their formation only permits on centre forward. A real pity. He definitely can play wide forward from what I've seen of him but they have options there too.
Hopefully I'm not being paranoid but Farke does seem to love reining Adam in. I mean, as well games he gave a frankly rubbish Drmic at the end of last season, he went and signed Jordan Hugill this season- so he has three centre forwards.

Idah drops back down to the bench for tonight. I was hoping he would hit the ground running in the Championship this year but Norwich have kept most of their attackers from last season. I think if he is going to develop into a top class striker Id like to see him as 1st name on teamsheet by end of season
paul_oshea
20/10/2020, 7:08 PM
Hes got speed and strength, the jurys out whether he has the other side to his game, but he definitely improved from the u19 to the u21s (his touch got much better)so hopefully he can again improve.
1st name on the teamsheet is a bit much, given some of the players at Norwich, but I'd like to see him starting, and by starting that would mean he is holding his own, so you'd consider 10 goals from the season to be a fair return. I'd take that now with both hands but i dont think hes the answer to what we desperately need from what i have seen of him.
Razors left peg
20/10/2020, 8:00 PM
Fair enough 1st name on team sheet might be a lot but I'd like to see him be picked regularly. If u are in the team as young as he is the hope is that you develop into a top class player. Pukki is still better than him right now. 10 goals would be a good target

4 months out, a knee injury,, thanks Stephen for burning out the teens. Get Smart, man
It’s not caused by burnout. It was caused by a bad tackle. He was taken off after 70 mins in the first game and got injured in the second. His workload at club level has been minimal. Ridiculous accusation. And 10 weeks is not four months...

Good to see him get half an hour yesterday after a couple of minute cameos in his last two games. Already 2-0 down by the time of his introduction and got a yellow for his troubles, so at least showed willing by the looks of it.
Norwich haven’t scored in four games, so will hopefully get a bit of game time moving forward.

2 goals in 15 appearances seems underwhelming at first glance, but Idah has only played 283 minutes of league football this season, so really it's like 2 goals in 3 - I don't know why Farke doesn't give him better opportunities

Idah is a victim of the current trend of only playing one striker/centre forward— he’ll never be ahead of Pukki. It’s a good point you raise.
