Coleman having a bit of a Serbia today so far at Fulham. Just HT now. Left Dembele unmarked carelessly for a gilt edged chance. A careless pass to give away possession and a silly foul trying to recover costing him a red. McCarthy put in a few good tackles and no sign of McGeady. Everton lucky to be level so far.

McGeady on now, 76 mins. 1-1. Cracking game. Involved straightaway with McCarthy.

And sets up Mirallas to put Everton 2-1 up.

35 minutes into my recording and Everton have been ponderous. I have to say though, McCarthy has been excellent. Assertive, strong, confident. Personaliteee.

You can still get 750-1 on Everton winning the title, bit of a long shot.

Bit morbid but its 2-1 they don't find this plane for at least 10 years. I don't think they will ever find it.

Only if you want to lose it!!

Problem is Everton need Liverpool to drop 9 points and some of those would likely to
go to other title contenders.

I had some money on them at about 35-1 early on but it was less than the 50p I had on Liverpool, 20p in fact!!

I suppose I could put 1p on at 750-1!

Don't get your hopes up. Look at the run in Everton have. Arsenal have been in this position myriad times and always manage to squeak it.

I wouldn't be getting carried away yet.they have to play both Manchester clubs yet....

Even if they get cl the qualifier will be very tricky who they could get.

At home, one of whom they've already beaten away. Arsenal have an easier run-in, but they've also only won one game in six in the league. I think both sides will drop points and Arsenal look more likely to drop silly points.

Interesting that Everton could be key to Liverpool winning the Championship.

Man City's second to last match is away to Everton, Some Everton fans might rather lose thaat match than see Liverpool
win the title, although I expect most would be happy to see the title to to Merseyside, however Everton have plenty to play
for themselves so they will be out to win anyway.

Liverpool and Everton both joint top of the form table having won their last 6 matches, 10 in a row for Liverpool I think.

Going to be an interesting title run in, Man City are favourites but they have 7 game to slip up in Liverpool just 5.

Imagine if Everton did qualify. Four of our most high profile players (under 30) all playing in the CL and increasing their profile on the continent. Could be the difference between Coleman eventually getting a big move in 2015 or ending his career never having played at the very top level. Could also work in Duffy's favour. He may get increased opportunities with Everton potentially participating in four different competitions. Gibson and McGeady can count on a good bit of CL experience. McCarthy is Martinez golden boy so he would be a nailed on starter regardless.

The EPL 4th placed team just qualifies for the league route play off round, Arsenal's usual point of entry.
If Everton do finish 4th, they will not be seeded in the play off draw and would face a team like Athletic Bilbao or a Bundesliga 4th place team.
The last time Everton got that close, they lost out to Villarreal.

I would fancy Everton against 4th place standard German or Spanish teams. the gulf in quality has been narrowed since they lost to Villarreal imo.

Whether you fancy them or not against a team like Ath Bilbao is besides the point (personally I wouldn't), they would still have to beat their opponents over 2 legs and that can not be taken for granted for an unseeded team like Everton, with little experience in Europe.

And what about the infamous Monchengladbach fans, the flying Moncies? I thought McGeady was decent yesterday when he came on. He was far less wasteful than he is in an Irish shirt, granted its only a 10 minute cameo. Hopefully if he gets a full game he can keep it going throughout the game.

Some lovely ball control by coleman in those two clips.

He's been decent in most games he's come on to be fair. He played a huge part in turning two points into six against Cardiff and Fulham, without which Everton would be out of the CL running.

I know ideally he would be starting games to get his fitness up, but it makes sense that he isn't when all of Everton's games are too important to carry a guy who isn't in peak condition, for this stage of the season. Coming on and giving them a creative option with the opposition tiring is working a treat anyway for now.
