Wouldn't be able to sign for any team in England until December 2023 anyway till he turns 18.

Fellow Ireland U19 international Sam Curtis is also in demand, with Newcastle United and Crystal Palace circling, but will likely spend the season at St Patrick's Athletic until he reaches the age permissible under Brexit rule.
Justin Ferizaj reported to be training with Spurs this week ahead of a potential move from Rovers

Is that a training camp for British-based players? Seems strange to have no LoI players in it otherwise (especially with the restrictions on moving to England before 18)
Yes was announced as a UK based training camp. Probably get a home based one soon.
Serie A side Sassuolo reportedly submitted a bid for Luton Town and Ireland U19s Ed McJannet. Serie A side Lecce reported to have interest in him too.
O'Rourke reporting that Lecce are in advance talks to sign Ed McJannet.

This is a sneaky big move. He was very highly rated a year or so ago and all of a sudden was on loan to non league, it was weird. Ive seen bits of him and he looks good. Delighted to see him not fade into the wilderness after whatever was going on at Oldham

The home based players squad announced today : https://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/mu19-mohan-looks-at-homebased-options-ahead-of-qualifiers
It includes Sean Moore of Cliftonville, good news and it didn't take long.

Good to see him involved, hope he sticks around. I don't think he had been competitively involved with NI to date so no messy paperwork should be needed if this does translate into a full squad call-up.

Few other interesting names, Eoin Kenny, Stephen’s son is there. Chris Lotefa is presumably a younger brother of Lido Lotefa

Vaughan has been training with the Hull City first team and is expected to be named in the squad for the Championship game away to Bristol City on 25th Feb. (Yorkshire Post).

That's some jump from being loaned out by non league Oldham to the Northern League because he wasn't fancied by their manager, which was his situation two months ago.

Gonna be an interesting squad. There were 61 lads called up to the training squads and another 20 lads who are obviously in contention (Maguire, Abankwah, Zefi, Vata, Curtis, Pearce, Murphy, O'Mahony, McJannett etc etc)
So you've got 81 lads going for 20 places:
Byrne
Maguire
Curtis (Sam)
Abankwah
Grehan
Okagbue
Murphy
Clarke
McJannett
Coleman (Cian)
Ferizaj
Vaughan
Mullins
Vata
Zefi
Umeh
Nzingo
O’Mahony
Lonergan
Pearce
That'd be my squad but there's plenty of good players missing from it.

Something weird went on there. He had played for Oldhams 1st team prior to that

As far as I know Vaughan is a fairly small, lightweight lad at this point. So I think the manager maybe felt he wasn't best suited to a scrap at the wrong end of the National League, which is where Oldham found themselves. I think he was probably just at the wrong club in general for the kind of player he is, he's probably better suited to being in an academy setup with a bigger team at this point. Would be great to see him get a few runs out in the Championship.

Nice to see caden mcloughlin back in he didn't seem to be as involved as others over the last while. Joe o brien has come back well from his acl and always looks very accomplished footballer.

Ronnie McGrath is another who is pretty highly rated based on what I’ve read in the last couple of years. Although I thought he was an attacker.

First friendly of the double header is kicking off in about an hour, stream available at the link below

I see this finished 1-1. Anyone watch or share scorers, performance etc?
Mark O'Mahony scored, seems to be having a good start to the season. See someone mentioning that Sean Moore who played LB linked up well with Trent Kone Doherty on the LHS. We were supposedly the more dominant side and Bosnia's goal came from outside the box (surprise surprise).

O'Mahony's goal was a header from a cross on the right. Ball was recycled after a corner.
Equaliser came from a shot from outside the box, from the left. I thought the keeper got a hand to it, but it went in anyway.
The stream was terrible, there's a chance it was recorded on an actual potato.

Our qualifiers aren't until November, so it's possible he does sit one out, if he's involved with wolves' first team
England open their under 19 campaign next week against Wales, Austria, and Montenegro, so their squad should be named soon.

A lot of decent players not involved Fraser, Zefi, McConnell, Gibbard, Ferizaj, mcalliney, Grogan, McGrath. Thought also that Corey O’Sullivan and Jake Grante could be involved. Pretty sure Zefi is injured but not sure about the rest.
Saying that, I’ve never consciously seen Jesse Dempsey, Luke O’Regan, James Crawford or Warren Davis play. So maybe they’re simply ahead on merit.
1712408610523746731
Beat Scotland 2-0 in the first game. Umeh's first goal is a cracker and has started the U21 season in great form (4G,1A) for Palace.
Also great to see O'Mahony be one to assist both goals. A criticism of his was his all round game wasn't good enough and the move to Brighton has hopefully changed that big time. He's started the season in great form too (7G,3A). Hopefully Brighton draw a lower league opponent in the FA Cup. Might see O'Mahony make the match day squad.

Akachukwu still has two years left on his Waterford contract.

Doesn't turn 18 until next June according to the independent so he can't go to the UK until then
Given the link between Fleetwood and Waterford I can see him moving there once he turns 18. Get half a season playing PD here before moving to Fleetwood in the summer.
