Interesting aston villa player picked in our under 16 squad this week. Unless there are 2 daniel crowleys at villa then this lad played victory shield this year for england and got good reviews likened on a forum to mcEachran with a bit of bite! He was born augest 97 seems young for under 16s. Wonder what the story is? Villa have been great for us with young players hopefully he inspired by grealish.

That would make him 14. Seems very young for that squad.

You were taught wrong.

He travelled with Manchester United to Brazil in December but as far as I know, he can't sign for anyone until he turns 16 in August(date could be wrong)
Article on him. (http://www.mayonews.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14315:man-united-chase-castlebar-teenager&catid=14&Itemid=100008)

You sure about that :D

I was joking of course. I do remember looking up Baba a while back and finding a brilliant self portrait written by him when was like 10 or so, I hope I can find it.

EDIT: Here it is :D http://www.castlebar.ie/education/stpats/christmas07/magazine07/page4.html (actually, the little hurling story is funnier)

Unfortunately also turned up his Twitter where he has a picture of the Indomitable Lions, so, if he does reach a certain level, he could well be caught in two minds...though thats a long way off it seems.

P.S. If you really want to see something racist (and the subsequent hilarious thread and songs, check this (http://www.socawarriors.net/forum/index.php?topic=56066) out)

Seeing as we have his school work from when he was 10 years old preserved online forever more, which CLEARLY STATES that his dream is to play for Ireland, he'd look quite the turncoat and fool if he ended up throwing his lot in with the Cameroonians. :o

I see Alex O'Hanlon, who was apparently courted by Real Madrid, played that game too. I wonder how he's getting on...
Also, anyone any idea of where Connor Dimaio's parents are from? I like seeing all these exotic surname's in Irish squads...

This lad seems like a gas man. Played for england 16s again since he played for us in jan and now is back in our 16s squad for games against belgium next week. Fair play to the lad he must love his football. Also lad in squad who is based in spainhttp://www.fai.ie/international/youth-teams/under-16/102469-u16s-face-belgium-in-pair-of-double-headers.html

I actually seen this kid playing Gaelic football over in Birmingham a couple of years ago. He has amazing skill and comes from an very Irish background. I could be wrong but I think he is still U15. I didn't recognise the name earlier in the thread.

Have to love this kid. On his twitter profile he says he plays for england and ireland class!Last week few people asking him why he played for england and ireland and he said because he wanted to try both of them out!Said he had not made his mind up yet.fair play to him. it is very confident of a 15 yo and fair play to him for telling the truth. He was named in an england under 16 squad weeks ago for augest but he has jumped over and back between both sides over the last year. Best of luck to him hopefully he will commit to ireland I am sure he will be called up for the under 17 qualifiers even though he is under 16.

This lad is obviously a legend and a character fair play to him. After playing for the brits at this level he now seems to be back in our 17s squad fora few friendlies next week http://www.fai.ie/international/youth-teams/under-17/103057-u17-head-coach-tom-mohan-names-squad-to-face-croatia.html he is craztiily highly thought of stil under 16.A legend who obviously loves his irish heritage but keeps been put under pressure by those brits for god sake was 1500 years(or so) of oppression and coronation street not enough!

Harry charlsley is another interesting lad scored against arsenal in evertons youth cup win this week. The spanish lad is over again think some one on here said he was on trial at chelsea obviously it didnt work out

Centre half, converted from midfield I believe. Cracking young player, one with potential to go all the way. Right attitude and motivation from what I hear too.

not sure what's going on here. Despite pledging his allegiance to Ireland in February before the two games against Croatia, Crawley played for England U17s this week in a three team tournament in the Algarve against Portugal, Germany and Holland, and has been named in their U17 squad for their elite qualifiers for the European Championships: http://www.thefa.com/England/mens-u17s/News/2013/elite-qualifying-round-squad-announced-060313

sorry, I got that sequence wrong. The games in Portugal were before the Croatia friendlies, so he played for England, and then played for Ireland against Croatia, and pledged his allegiance to the FAI when the squad was announced - http://www.fai.ie/international/youth-teams/under-17/103057-u17-head-coach-tom-mohan-names-squad-to-face-croatia.html

Danny Crowley features in the squad also after pledging his allegiance to Ireland ahead of England. Danny has played for Ireland at U-16 level, while representing England at U-16 and U-17 level also.
and now he's in the England squad?

Unfortunately he seems to have commited to the oppressor state for now by playing for their 17s in competitive football. Still he seems to have massive ties to ireland so hopefully in the future he will be back with us. Best of luck to him anyway

I read a couple of reports about this game and all the focus was on the centre-forward, and a small bit about Crowley. Judging by the highlights above, Crowley was the one pulling the strings completely.

Crowley is so highly rated that several months ago, Roy Hodgson invited him to train with the English team. Part of that may have been concerns that he may declare for Ireland in the future, but given there are plenty of young lads in England that can play with Ireland, it shows how highly he is rated.

Wilshere has mentioned him in interviews about youngsters in the academy at Arsenal. He seems to rate him really highly.

Duggan scored a few goals in the earlier rounds and they seem to have been crackers. Good to see, as I think he only went over in the summer.
