Sorry but
Rule 21 States that the FAI must make what ever decision ****es the most people off or in the case that both teams are equally ****ed the verdict the makes least sense to all is then applied.
Its clear enough really.
That's right. Though this is in direct contravention of rule 24
Rule 24 is where the validity of all decisions are subjected to the Barcelona test, ie. They f**k limerick over.

There is no way logically the FAI can give a bye to Limerick when officially Shels were the ones 'cheated' by Sheriff having a player on the field who shouldn't have been. 3-0 walkover to Shels would be the precident enacted in any other country.
I think this is a very subtle f-you to Shels from the FAI. It can't be anything else.

A none too subtle f-you if anything!

I think the FAI have learned that it's better to have HairyBowsie, CSF* et al forever on your back than Lim til I die, gael353, osarusan, Jofspring* etc waging an almighty Jihad .:terror:
*Random names have been chosen, this doesn't necessarily impact on any character named or unnamed, it is neither complete or accurate..

TBF I'm surprised they haven't screwed Limerick out of it again like they did with the Barcelona fiasco but there descion to bye Limerick into the semi final is an absolute joke tbf, and this is coming from a Limerick fan...But then again when has any descion the FAI has made, made any sense what so ever?

Yeaj I suppose you're right.
I wouldn't want to deal with osarusan's Ninja Jihad.

The FAI once again trying to ride Limerick by forcing our injury ravaged squad to play a crucial league game midweek.
Bye to the semi final?? For SHAME Delaney you chancer.

Shels have responded and are basically saying they will appeal. Would think it will be another week before this is all sorted.
Shels couldn't have been re-instated as they didn't protest apparently
They'll appeal and get through IMO
And they'll have a home game too. Why wouldn't they?

Thanks to this new always as logical precedent from the FAI if a club plays an ineligible player in the cup final nobody would win the cup!

The FAI have just invited Celtic's Under 14 side to come in at the expense of Sherriff FC, it's thought this will be a huge boost to the League Of Ireland in general.

Good point Dodge
Shelbourne FC are in receipt of the decision of the FAI Domestic Committee in relation to the ineligibility of a player in the recent FAI Ford Cup game between ourselves and Sheriff YC.
We would like to commiserate with our near neighbours and friends, Sheriff YC in the decision to remove them from the competition .
However , Shelbourne FC is aghast at the decision of the Committee not to reinstate our Club to this season’s FAI Ford Cup as a consequence of this and will be making no further comment until the Club’s Board of Management has examined, in conjunction with its Legal Advisors, all available options.’

I should add I found it odd the FAI release was headlined 'Limerick into FAI Cup semi finals'
Shels have some neck being aghast, they should take their First Division trophy and their oil and keep their head down.
Anyone for fudge?

Not really razor.
Nothing has been proven so it would be in the club's interests to appeal. I mean if they didn't it would be tantamount to conceding that they agree something was up.
The other strange thing is the FAI didn't say how the lad was ineligible, or how it was spotted
May do after appeal of course

Shels will get back in on appeal, we'll field our under elevens, Shels will win, life goes on.
IMHO the FAI are just pussing about the scam that was pulled right in front of them so couldn't bring themselves to do the only sensible thing.
That rigged game was actually a thing of beauty, have to respect the parties involved on some levels.

6-0 in the end. Or "5-0" as the Irish Times charitably put it.
Nothing has been proven so it would be in the club's interests to appeal. I mean if they didn't it would be tantamount to conceding that they agree something was up.Of course you have to appeal but it does feel like the FAI want to punish you for something. (Heaven knows what)
It would obviously suit City far better for Shels and Limerick to have an extra match.
Ollie would have had this mess sorted by now.

Question:
When Shels win their appeal if it turns out the player has played for Sherrif in earlier rounds against Salthill and College Corinthians is their scope for them to appeal and this years FAI Cup to drag on into the autumn of 2014 like so many GAA county championships.

Same thing was said about Pike, they had knocked Aisling and a few more teams out in previous rounds and people where saying they had as much a right to be re-instated as St.Michaels as the same player played in the previous rounds. The only catch there though was that St.Michaels where the only ones to object so that was probably their reasoning behind letting St.Michaels progress. Because Shels weren't the ones to object it could make this a little messy.
We all know what will happen though. Shels will object, the FAI will find in the interest of fairness Shels have to be let back in and Limerick will have to play Shels in Tolka.
Great intensity from Rovers, UCD couln't live with it in comparison to previous games where Rovers have started slowly. Finn was outstanding, 0-3 and red card finished it, 0-4 HT, could've been six or seven, six in the end. Just happy with the energy from largely the second string...and O'Neill/Murray/Finn/Dennehy.
The UCD no 6 did still stand out for them though.

John Lester was only signed 2 weeks previous to this game. One issue is that he wasn't registered in time. The 3 club rule may also come into effect but that usually only causes problems when players are looking for international clearance

Sick of playing Rovers.
Probably should have let ye get a late winner in Tallaght last week.
Derry away on Friday without our captain. Ho hum...

Would Shels getting home advantage not open it up to appeal by Limerick ? Shels were not drawn "first" (indeed at all) and while I expect they (Shels) will be reinstated surely the home advantage issue wont be conceeded ? Toss a coin or redraw between Limerick and Shels for "home" if (when) Shels are reinstated seems only fair way

No team is drawn out at home. Ball 3 (or whatever was).
Can't see any basis for Limerick moaning

The deadline for filing an appeal was about 15 minutes ago. Does anyody from Shels (or anybody at all) know if they have appealed?

Might not have been - but Lims were certainly drawn "second" .

Hahaha why in the name of Jesus would a Cork fan be worried about how many games we play?

One can't help but wondering now about al those times you've bottled it over the last few years.

23 goals scored by Rovers v UCD so far this season and still to play them again. Must be some sort of league record between two teams?

Would have thought you'd be hoping for us to be on form so that we can beat your 2 actual competitors for you over the next few games.
Hahaha why in the name of Jesus would a Cork fan be worried about how many games we play?
You realise the game he's talking about would be against Limerick right? And if ti doesn't happen they'l have a week off and a rest.
If it's played, they'l have a tough game, hopefully pick up a few injuries and have Gamble sent off.

In a season like this, you gotta take the positives!
But it's not true that we've scored 23 times against us in the league.
Yet.
