How to sort the scum from non scum in just seven days though??
Alan Matthews would have to have a serious think about his position??
If it can't be done in 7 days, it'll be done when it can be done. I'll be supporting Shels in the meantime under the assumption that I won't be supporting the culprits when everything comes out in the open.

Odd attitude, I wouldn't be touching my club with a 49 foot pole until I was certain the scum was gone to be honest and I'd be letting the board know too.
Also, if I was Matthews I'd walk if this wasn't sorted immediately.
Aside from Sheriff's heroics in the first half I could see certain Shels players making uncharacteristic passes, taking forever to decide what do with the ball, pulling out of tackles, randomly smacking the ball out of play. This was multiplied in the 2nd half especially when it went to 3-2 Shels literally did nothing.
It was obvious to me at least 7 of the 14 were on the take. I won't name names.
Undoubtedly Sherriff still have to take their chances and not implode themselves, so they deserve to go through. If there is anything to it (and who knows if there is, it could simply be a great result or even went further than they thought), it would have to be more than one player like the above.
If the goalkeeper or left back was in on it, it doesn't stop Byrne or Hughes or someone else from scoring 3, 4, 5 etc and vice versa. There would have to be several players you would think.

That's your hard earned. In the scumbags pockets.

What are FAI and, surely more importantly, UEFA and FIFA rules on (these as yet totally unproven allegations of) matchfixing?
CSFShels, are you sure it's as simple as just punishing the players involved but not the club? Does it have to involve the board for the club to be punished? I'm not disagreeing, I don't know what the answers are.

I think, think, that Shels have to be deducted 25 points until they can 100% prove nothing untoward went on.

Here's link (from Shelschat) suggesting that if only players are involved, the punishment is limited to the players.

In the 2nd leg of a promotion-relegation playoff, Gabornia of the premier division bribed 6 players from Swit of the 1st division, and won 3-0. After investigation, Gabornia demoted, Swit promoted, 6 Swit players banned, 5 for life.

I actually can't believe this!
What kind of greedy scumbag *******s would risk the club's and their reputation, and risk what is ironclad promotion at this stage for a few euro.
I'm actually shocked. Every single one of those involved should never play in this league again. They're a disgrace to Irish football.
In a week where we saw players leave everything on the line to bring our league success, we see these scum bring shame on it with pure and utter greed. It's sickening.

UEFA monitor betting patterns of all domestic games, including national cup competitions, and given the fact that this was also being mentioned on English betting forums you'd expect alarm bells to be raised.

If it's true and it affects our promotion hopes then I'll probably cry.
But, and it's a big but, the three goals Sheriff scored were spectacular. No dodgy tap ins or suspicious ogs. All 3 were from outside the box and aided by awful goalkeeping more than anything else. Not to say that's proof it wasn't fixed but Sheriff actually had very few clearcut chances bar those goals.
If anything that post supports the claims. 3 goals, from few chances, with the aid of poor keeping?
Wouldn't be so sure the club isn't involved. We all remember the Wexford game a couple of years ago.
Happy morning to me...

Hmmm, I don't really see the logic there to be honest. We didn't create chances for them was my point. The poor keeping was from Dean Delaney who's been at the club for years and if he's complicit I think he'd rather wish he was dead. Also, the Wexford game was a group of players, I've never heard any allegations that someone from the club was involved?

What's to be happy about?
Look, there was a thread on a Liverpool FC (ffs) website and 3.26 pm yesterday saying that the game would be thrown.
http://forums.liverpoolfc.tv/showthread.php?p=6225530#post6225530
There was also a thread on the lsl website starting at 9.26 am yesterday saying the same thing.
http://www.freeforum101.com/lsl/viewtopic.php?t=57118&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=d9875dd3957e7150d684612e4c605ea5&mforum=lsl
No proof, of course, the liverpool thread starts with 'a taxi driver told me'.
Still, it's starting to walk like a duck.
The club needs to say something in public about this.
What's to be happy about?
Pats are in quarter finals, and Shels aren't. Enough for me
Anyone who thinks match fixing isn't going on in every single country in the world is naive beyond belief

While I see your point, with the talk on betting sites it seems far too coincidental to not be fixed.
That's not to say ye gave away the goals, they sound like great goals. But it could mean that ye didn't try to score more/win after they scored them and also that if they hadn't scored amazing goals they may have found goals in other ways.....Maybe the excellent goals made it easy to fix, didnt have to try too hard?
Tbh, despite this being good for us if some of ye're players are penalised, I'd rather it weren't true. Because it makes me sick to think of scumbags with such obvious disregard for our league and the fans.
I hope for the sake of the fans that it's not true, and can be fully disproven, because I don't think I could support a team with that hanging over them, even if it can't be easily proven.

Woke up with the most severe hangover and completely forgot about this last night. Absolutely distraught. I fear heading to ShelsChat.
Back to the football, decent game in drogs last night, have to admire the way drogs played, passed it about really good and coped very well with 10 men for the entire 2nd half, in which we were pure muck. Only hope is we cant be that bad for the replay on tuesday.

Hello all. I'm a noob on here, although a few will know me from the BTID forum.
I'm still trying to digest these allegations. I know nothing has been proven, but there seems to be a groundswell of opinion that it appears that something seriously dodgy went on. I hope not. Just as LOI PR was on the up...
Thinking about it in practical terms, there couldn't be that much money involved, surely? Would there be enough to pay several players a decent wedge? Who would risk their reputation for the kind of money we are talking about? I just can't see it.
There are enough stupid people around, and they've been seen at shels before. A few players a few years ago against Wexford did similar I believe?
It probably started out with them decided they needed to focus on promotion, not on the cups. From that a few players decided, sure let's put a few quid on and make some money out of it, sure we'll lose anyway or something stupid like that. One or more of them is incapable of keeping their mouths shut and tells friends. Word spreads quickly, loads of people get on the bet and bookies suspend betting. They probably never thought about risking reputation and probably rightly believed it'd be impossible to prove anything anyway.
If it happened..

C'mon the Reds, let's put this behind us, get promoted and shut all the begrudgers up.

You're just guessing though so I don't think its fair to bring the club into it without any proof.
At the moment this all looks too suspicious to be ignored. I'm sickened by the thought of it and if its proven I hope the people involved are kicked out of the club and banned from football. If it turns out the club is involved (and I really don't think they are) then I'l accept any punishment thrown at us.
Rumour has it that the Pats squad are going to go on strike unless they get money from rigging a game as well.

Fair play. I thought we were really good before Hancock ruined the game, we could have been 3 or 4 up. What an absolute c*nt that man is. Belter of a game though, with a serious atmosphere. The noise at times was mental! the derbies have been very entertaining this season. Hopefully we get more of the same tuesday night. Could be a long night I fear! Kearns gone before then yeah?

Plenty of crowd (bohs) trouble tonight.. a good bus load of them weren't allowed in and or thrown out, well over 10 police cars and a few paddy wagons got called in. Don't know if it was a case of gards over reacting or what but looked pretty excessive. we we're well on top after the opening exchanges and could have made it 2-0 but missed our chance, then got outclassed in the 2nd half, Hunt better be in nets next game thou, Rouse is a disaster..

As regards the trouble it seems it was sparked by the Bohs fans that weren't let in. I believe some of them were identified by a Bohs official as people that were banned they then started kicking off prompting an overreaction from the guards who'd had an aggressive approach from the start. They called in back up and suddenly the place is swarmed with squad cars and paddy wagons, and dogs. Somebody counted 32 Garda vehicles for less than 20 apparent troublemakers. LTFC had no input into any Gardai decisions by the way and our club officials didn't have any problems with any Bohs fans they were dealing with.

Rouse made some great save and was great in claiming crosses/corners but he's so slow defo the slowest player I've ever seen even his walk out is slow he's usually second in the line coming out behind the captain but he's overtaken by everyone behind him haha, even the officials left the pitch before him today half the fans were in their cars and gone by the time he got into the tunnel :)

I don't get it when you say that Longford officals had no problems with them. Surely the trouble makers 'kicking off' came after they were refused admission by Longford officials?
Your post screams Gardai over-reaction to a non-issue. If the trouble makers got a heavy reaction from the Gardai to their mis-behaviour maybe they deserved it?

They'd been sold tickets by Longford official then a Bohs official who was there to monitor their fans going in advised the club and the Gardai not to let the three or four identified individuals in. Their friends then objected along with those that weren't let in from what I'm told and the Bohs official was threatened by those same Bohs fans. The guards certainly didn't help things as they were being aggressive even with those that they did let in telling them to stop singing etc then bringing the dogs up to them etc.
