We've never charged in for friendlies. Don't know if I'd pay either. Though maybe I'm just spoilt.

Ours were a fiver.

Rovers charged a fiver and shock horror didn't even have a guest list.

I'd say between a fiver and €8 at most.
Surely general admission for league games won't be far from €10 for the majority of clubs this season.

I'd say most premier teams are sticking with €15.

Longford charged a fiver on Friday. Pats were charging a tenner last week for the postponed waterford game (€7 for season ticket holders)

Games should be max a fiver for a friendly. We should be encouraging people to go to games.

The Letterkenny, Swinford and Sligo games were free. Don't know about the Derry game, I'd say it was above a fiver though.

SkStu

so e10 for a friendly isnt unheard of then. Thats a relief.

Harps chargec E10 for the game against Derry, disgraceful. Derry charging £5 for home games.

I was only charged €5 in. Never asked for a student either.

That was a super important cup final though, not a friendly.

tenner into Dundalk v Limerick. fiver for me and 2 kids into Drogheda v Limerick. Limerick v Mervue was 2 euro iirc.

The JJ Reid Trophy is an internationally recognised and prestigious honour to play in. Not comparable.

Besides, it wasn't a tenner in either. Check Harpstilidie's post. :)

We probably charged the Derry fans a tenner though, but that's just how we roll.

SkStu
21/02/2011, 3:17 PM
i was only messing. I honestly couldnt give a toss how much any team charges in to any game.

Though i do agree that admission prices for the JJ Reid should be higher. And that Derry fans should be charged more into every game in the country. Obviously. :)

Good, glad we agree. It was touch and go there for a minute as to whether Pineapple Stu and Myself went over to Canada to open a can of whop ass (whatever that is) on ya.

I fully expect Bohs now to go and knock a couple of goals in as we've just put our less than trusty sub keeper in and thats putting it nicely. Town are after making 8 subs in total for second half with 2 names I'm not familiar with, Kevin Lynch and Stephen McCrossan.

Longfordian
21/02/2011, 8:08 PM
McCrossan was with Monaghan for the past couple of years. Don't know who Lynch is nor Sean Skelly who also came on.

Magicme
21/02/2011, 8:08 PM
Weeve McCrossan was with us for last 3 seasons.

I'm assuming Sean Skelly should be Austin Skelly. But then again I could be wrong!

One sub brought on for Bohs, Ryan McEvoy who was on loan with us last season.

ill take that for the first game of the season and such a young team.

Longfordian

Another useful work out, by the sounds of it Bohs had the better of it but we seem to be pretty solid in pre season thus far.

howsyourtouch
21/02/2011, 8:57 PM
was at the game, town looked good in the first half but in the second they looked to tire a bit, bohs deserved the goal. free header from a corner! good work out for both teams id imagine.

Longfordian
21/02/2011, 9:01 PM
Making 8 changes at half time would always disrupt things a bit but there's lots to be pleased with from our friendlies.

21/02/2011, 9:23 PM
Howsyourtouch, was that Sean Skelly a mis-print or is he another trialist? How'd the two other trialists play?

Longfords tiny little left winger looked decent in the first half and made their goal. Fagan looked outstanding for us.

Institue 0-7 Derry, McDaid (4), Lafferty, Molloy and McGlynn scored. Good run out for Derry against an understrength Insitute team. Derry also had a weakened team with P McElehenney, S McElehenny, McClean, Zayed and Deery sitting in the stands. McCallion and McGlynn were also only 2nd half subs.

Jacques Morley. He's looked lively in all our games so far by all accounts. Fagan is a pretty experienced player at this stage he should do well for ye.

Garvan has played a lot of pre season due to Peter White being injured.

Well able to tackle but general consensus is he's a bit green, tends to think "I'm a full back so my job when I get the ball is to belt it out for a throw as far up the field as I can

Garvan is a center half by trade. Played all the U20s games pushing between center half and center mid. Scully saw most of the games as he was assessing Paugie for the UEFA B License so he's been a long time admirer.

well we have three bars :o decent game last night. bohs looked a little rusty (not surprising as it was first game) but kept the ball down and played a bit of ball. very unlucky to go in at half time a goal down - longford keeper made a couple of decent saves - and fully deserved second half equalizer. Fagan looked a very good player for Bohs (Longford number nine also very lively) and it will have done some of the younger players no harm to get a run. Mid table obscurity looking realistic !

Primarily it was nice to get back to watching 22 players chasing a plastic thing around the pitch after all the off season fiasco. First preseason game always great before the depressing reality kicks in.

Longfords 9 was Don Cowan, I thought Forrester on the right looked decent enough for Bohs, Fagan is a really good signing
