but it should make for a more exciting match next week
It should but I wouldn't bank on it.
You could see at the end the Liverpool players looked defeated. Wonder will this set the tone for next week's match.
That's a good point. Psychologically it will be very hard for Liverpool to overcome this now. They will have walked off the pitch feeling like they've been kicked in the nuts and it will almost feel like a defeat.
While I would be pessimistic with a "normal" 1-1 draw, the way this one came about leaves me feeling as if it's over.

Rubbish match with lots of long ball football. I thought Liverpool were boring but jesus Chelsea are a disgrace. With all the money in the world and they still play Clare League Football.
Get rid of it.
Clare league that bad then???

I thought Gerrard was world class again........ :)
On a more serious note I thought Cech was the best player on the pitch because he pulled off 3 decent saves. I don't think you could say one outfield player had a good game last night i.e. 7/8 out of 10.
Chelsea were muck - Lampard and Ballack didn't do anything of note. But they are in the driving seat and they have made Stamford Bridge a fortress so Liverpool have a lot to do.

Mascherano was about a 7, I thought. Also Kuyt.

Surprisingly, even though Lampard was at fault for the goal, I thought his passing was very good last night. He played some lovely first time balls through to Cole and Drogba during the game. Skrtel proving again to be an astute purchase in the Agger mould by Rafa.

Well Well Well..... what can you say to that O.G. but that didn't annoy me nearly as much as Drogba. The man is a Cheat ! plain and simple. Every time he get breathed on he's throwing himself to the ground and rolling around in agony.. Muppett! I firmly believe if he was not a professional footballer he'd be an internet or credit card fraudster
still think Liverpool will get something at the bridge. can see Gerrard getting booked and missing the Final though.....Prediction Liverpool on Peno's (Just)

The ITV commentator said he must have the lowest pain barrier in the world :D What also annoys me is that the opposition kick the ball out when he goes down. I am a firm believer that 90% of the time that this should be done only for head injuries requiring immediate attention while the other 10% are for leg breaks and some such.
His antics are a disgrace.

HAHA I can actually picture Drogba sending me email about wanting to transfer millions of euro from his dead relative, the King of the Ivory Coast if I just make a small advance fee first.
Seriously though he is an idiot, when he went off on the stretcher(after being offside) he wasn't doing Chelsea any favours as I though there were actually just starting to play well and that just broke up their momentum

Drogba is the biggest strongest toughest FAIRY I've ever seen. He looks like a boxer, but goes down like a ballerina... Hate that man..

you didn't rate his one on one with Torres or the Gerrard volley?

The Gerrard Volley good save, the two saves from Torres, bread and butter stuff especially as for the first Torres took a touch too many before shooting.

I must have missed that hour!!! I'd give Torres and Drogba a 9 for their diving and theatrics but that was about it.

his two passes in the goal alone earn him the 9 i think

it's not just the Diving it's the prolonged rolling around on the ground and/or going off for treatment even after he's won the free. It's so frustrating to watch and so pointless.ffs Drogba you don't have to pretend you're badly injured every time you're fouled

IMO Drogba is the worst diver in the England. His antics last night were cringeworthy. He seems to go down at the slightest touch. It's such a shame because he's a fantastic player but just doesn't do himself any justice in this regard. There are players on other teams who are divers, but nobody is anywhere near as bad as he is.

He was regarded as the best striker in the world by many a year or 2 ago. Of course he's brilliant and it'd be very fickle to judge him on current form.

Define brilliant for me then?
I think Denis Bergkamp was brilliant, Zola, Hagi, Stoichkov, Van Basten, Zidane, Maradona.
Or currently Messi, Kaka or Ronaldo.
To me brilliance is creative flair and being capable of incredible feats with a football.
Don't remember ever seeing Drogba do anything brilliant.
Very good, sometimes excellent, but never quiet brilliant for me..
Just my opinion..

Yeah, its only iverpool fans that don't want the Champions League final to be a rerun of 'Grand Slam Sunday' rubbish......
Ideally tonights game would be the final, but unfortunately one of the 2 worst teams to watch has to qualify.
Drogba is a poor man's Alan Shearer to be honest. As for the match tonight, 3-1 to Barca with a Barca - Chelsea final is still my pick. Shame Mourinho isn't the manager anymore, at least his sideline antics distracted from the sleeper hold Chelsea normally put on the on-field entertainment
Ronaldo and big games? The next 90 minutes will tell a lot about him now

Oh my God I can't believe it!
The ref seemed to move the ball back and Ronaldo never placed it to where he wanted it. It would have been the best thing to do as he looked very nervous and the one thing you don't do when your nervous is try and place a penalty.
United's defence getting torn apart at the moment, Messi is looking sharp as well, looks good for Barca, especially after small time Charlie missed that penalty :D

Wes Brown is playing like the same ole turkey he always is. Every chance he can get he's wrecking a move by passing the ball back to VDS. He's just being negative.
Park looks lost.
So does Evra.
VDS started poor but seems to have improved.
United need to target Milito he's useless.
Marquez's foul on Ronaldo looked another penalty...........i wonder if ronaldo would have taken it?????
Barca are crunchin Uniteds players any chance they can and because of that a lot oof Uniteds players are pullin out of challenges.
If only Vidic was out there to show them how to tackle???????
The game is crying out for Paul Scholes to take control, but it looks like he won't.
Theres goals in this game and it pains me to say but they look like Barcelona goals.

Looks a similar game as the first leg with Roma. Almost all of the game being played in United's half, but no real chances created against them. They look much more likely to score than Barcelona when they break.

Wes Brown is so crap they gave him a new four year contract! He wouldn't get a game at Wigan.
United need to make changes or they'll be hockeyed.

That penalty miss will come back to haunt Man Utd. One of only 2 clear chances that they had at the Nou Camp and they are now at the mercy of the away goal.

Dunphy's right: We did see a great player tonight. Paul Scholes tried his heart out tonight while everyone around him was off the pace.
