There is alot to happen before you decide when the fixures are out
A.g.m. must take place first, then the clubs must decide on format the league shall play.summer / winter or brake.
then the league must format the leagues clubs and present the fixtures.
All going well summer March winter August.

the format of the league is always decided by its clubs in the same way we decided to play summer football, its always being the choice of clubs. But by enlarge most clubs are happy with summer football.
However at lease expect The Mayo League may opt for some changes, when its for the good of football. The league has a responability to listen to all of its clubs, even thou the clubs will make the final decission.

So does anyone know the story with fintan McHale and the Celtic B Team. IT says in the old thread that he is going to lobby the Mayo League to let the B Team play in the Super League  . Is that actually possible. Grapevine says it happens in the Galway League. I think it would be a Great Idea But would the celtic Board actually embrase this. I think that it might show a rift internally  Anyone know the story???

No word within the B team of Fintan been interested in playing B, even he has not heard of anything about this and wants to stay A, but this could change, with the possibilty of Celtic putting in an U21 team in the EL then 1/2 of the B team may need to head up to A anyway.

This idea of the B team playing Super league has been running around for years.

I think its going to be an Eircom League under 20 cup this year and not under 21 like last year

As far as I am aware it will be U-21 this year 2007 and then changing to U-20 in 2008. I could be mistaken. The U-20 age would suit Celtic better if they go into the league as it would free up S. McHale, C.Kelly & C. Hopkins to play in the S.L. and allow the club to use some of its talented U-16 players.

Just wondering if Mossy or The Don have any comment on the number of first team palyers that I hear are leaving the club before the new season. Of course P. Burke is a major loss and without him I think they could be one of the favourites to go down this year along with the Boro (unless P.Jordan has signed up five or six new players). Is it true that K.Murphy is gone to Castlebar Town or is Ballyheane. I hear he is courting a number of Celtic B players? but cant remember which club he has moved onto. A good one who ever gets him.

Niall Gallagher is gone to Ballina, he is EX Celtic and had a year in the Super with Ballyglass under his belt, not sure if he would have returned.

There is a good keeper in Swinford, he is good from what I have seen of him

my understanding of the keeper situation is Colm Gavin is to be the new keeper youth all his life with celtic playing gaa last few seasons but with the position vacant its said he'l take it. alan wont be comming home for 2 more years.

i say keith bourke has still alot to offer(about 30yrs old) and would be a good addition to any squad. would he still go to ballyheane k.murphy does pull out of the running for that managers post?

thats a good question its hard to see him going as that is the only link to him going out there, looks messy enough for ballyheane this year hear there is rumour of more leaving ballyheane. S.Welsh going 2, could be more pub talk but not looking good 2 of backline missing already, they need to get players signed up...and quick

ya,you right it is begining to look a bit messy alright out there, who else is supposed to be leaving? i say if k.murphy takes the job he would steady the ship and maybe attract some players to sign and maybe talk the players thinking of going to stay.?

if he was to take over im sure he would have no problem getting players to come out, hes been around for years and is very well respected by everyone and hed be perfect replacement for bourke until he finds someone peremant.
im sure he would get a few from celtic mabye the boro and could change things around for the heane... John Clarke although a man with impressive c.v and coaching skills it actually ruined ballyheane getting him to manage, id say itl be a busy transfer market in the next comming months....

i think it will be very hard to fill burke's boot, seem to be a leader on the pitch, but i suppose they got to get on with it and maybe a few senior players mite step-up to the plate and bring the team forward. . ya, busy month or 2 in the transfer market? any leads on any moves?

Although it's hard to trust anything you hear around town, I don't think Murphy will go to Ballyheane, I don't think he's too interested in it at the moment, he's probably better taking some time out of the game for a while. He's been a great servant, but I wouldn't fancy being out in the cold two or 3 nights a week when I'm his age. I'd prefer to put my feet up and get my appetite back for the game, his Boro days ended a bit awkwardly.

But if he did go to Ballyheane, i doubt he'd get any Boro players to follow him, he might tempt Johan though who wouldn't be a bad signing at all for Ballyheane, help fill Bourkes boots as a leader on the pitch.

Why are you still coming out with that drivel that Boro need a influx of 5 or 6 Players. 3 at most. If a Manager can get a squad Super fit and well organized then it can be a tough Challange to take points off that side. I will guarantee you Boro will stay up. They have players who just need a little guidance. Its not like some regeimes where you need to overflow the barrel with outsiders to get results( Or not). Ring any bells

It looks to me that this season its goin to be as usual westport, celtic and maybe ballina that will be up there. with these clubs signing players from other teams etc there goin to be to strong for any of the other super league teams. the main focus this year could be on the teams goin down like last year. hopefully this year no teams will decide to throw any games!!! its not how the game should be played.

yea that would be a good signing, id say murphy will stay put what happened with him and managment was there any rift between them, i hear new trainer is very good looks like the boro will be raring to go come the start of season any team who are super fit are dangerous best of luck to them good to see the club getting a good manager in acting positively after loosing 3 players to celtic, with few additions they will be sound

well at least ballyheane can welcome back paul guthire and rob coyne who did leave half way through the season last year i think that hit them hard, bad time to loose 2 starting players. not sure about any moves just narky but that might not go ahead if murphy stays put.

Its that time of year when poeple always assume they have the story, who is gone and who coming in.
Glad to here you all talking about Ballyheane, for all the wrong reasons, I thought there was a football family out there. But after reading such aload of tripe without any substance in any of it.
Well let me add if players have left, well its time to start looking over your own shoulders, make sure in the coming weeks you don't fall out with anyone.Because you could find them making there way out to Ballyheane. One must bear in mind that there is a fine facillitys out there.
Regards to Murphy I have reason to believe he is signing as a player for Ballyheane with the view of taking over as manager. I also believe that the two lads are coming back Coyne / Gutts, reason to believe they left because of the behaviour of Bourke.
As to no is there any more new signings will all have to just wait and see.

no ones denying theres a fine facillity out there and as for coyne and guths leaving the club you couldnt be more wrong!! guths was working in tipperary and couldnt attend training sessions and wasnt bourke coyne had the problem with at all so reno i think the tripe is comming from you and not elsewhere.!!

Plenty to offer yet, great at making the 1/2 time tea ;)

Connacht Cup—Round 3

Ballina Town v Loughrea 2.00pm
Inver Utd. v Moylough 90 2.00pm
Crossmolina v Colga FC 2.00pm
Urlaur Utd. v Glen Celtic 2.00pm
Renmore v Ballyheane 2.00pm

Ballinasloe Town v Glenhest Rovers 2.00pm
Heatmerchants v Westport Utd. 2.00pm
Straide & Foxford Utd. v City Utd. 2.00pm

Any thoughts on the weekend games? i think all mayo teams will win but after a long breck for some teams it could go the other way. S&F may struggle most the fact of having no manager since they went down. expecting westport to win easy even though there missing some names.
