Well my predictions are as follows....Pike to beat aa just....Carew to beat regional...extra time and possibly penos here.....wembley will beat the view and summerville to win 1-0 against herbertstown!!!Any comments on these?? I am sure there will be!!

So Mike you think you'll beat us !!
In fairness wasn't much between the teams last season so I expect it to be close, although we have added a few good players to our squad.
Not sure about yourselfs.
Looking forward to it anyway :)

Wembley are an average 1a side in all fairness i think the view are only going to get stronger the players they have are not going to become poor overnight

Totally agree with you there ! I've seen Wembly play this year and my own opinion is they will get beaten handy. It's true Wembly are an average 1A side and although the View might not have played well enough to compete for the league title they will progress to the next round.

i think Aishling have a great chance of causing an upset against Pike, they seem a very good cup side and seem to be scoring alot of goals(albeit conceding them too),they have the experience of last season which is a big thing in the FAI.
Carew and Regional will be very close, theres a great chance of it going to penos. Wembley been at home gives them a big chance of upseting the 'view(sorry hyde). Boro should be too strong for Shels having beating them well already this season. The fact that Herbertstown are home will be factor against Summerville.

I suppose Pike have no experience of the later stages in the FAI!!!!!!!

alot of people on here tipping carew to beat regional i dont think carew will beat them iv seen carew a few times this season aswell as regional and carew dont get me wrong they work very hard and o connor is going the right way with them.
but they still lack something in midfield and at full back. regional are very strong through out the team excellant strikers very strong in midfield and not giving much away at the back they play some excellant football very comfortable on the ball were carew seem to be less comfortable. i posted already regional wont like playing carew (and they wont) and it would go to pens well having thought more about it i think regional might just have to much for carew
3-1 REGIONAL

why is everyone on here tipping carew to beat regional???

Interesting view!!!!None of my business but are the GAA anti soccer there or did they agree to postpone the county semi final???????

Fair point. The only response is that soccer will always play second fiddle to GAa in small towns and villages in rural Ireland.

Accomodation is needed without either side being made to feel like second class citizens.

Having said that, bearing in mind it was only likely to be one week when such a clash was on the cards, could a postponement not have been argeed?

Have to agree with you there- Rock Rovers quite capable of causing an upset in this tie. It seems they have decided to concentrate on the football this year which makes a nice change:D . They meet Sunday week in the MJC so we might get a formline from that. Rosegreen could also dump Borris from the competition.

They are a handy side, though I'm not as up to date with them as a few yeas ago. They are well physical and have a centre forward, Kirwan who is unbelievale in the air...he also has a lot more to his game

All in all, they have a few decent players and a few hard cases but will be be hard to beat

Biggest game of the year so far! - and probably the toughest as well! Is the pitch in good shape? - hope its not as bad as rineannas!

Should be a good game, we are expecting it to be a tough one, hopefully we won't be the third Kerry team that ye put out of the competition this year...

pike, carew park, fairview matches all off the weekend i must its a bit disappointing they must have valid reasons. i reckon carew park more so very strange to ask for a free weekend when regional have conway and galvin out that would of been a big plus for carew both should be back in couple of weeks.

These clubs would have requested the free weekends from the FAI 14 days before the games.

If fai games are going to be called off this weekend for bad weather Old keeper, when is the soonest we will know......Who inspects the pitchs before the actual day of the game?? Is it up to the club themselves to say weather the pitch is playable or is someone sent to the pitch from the ldmc??

Hi Summervilleman the proceedure re calling in on Sat re a pitch being unplayable is only for local soccer. The FAI and MJC will be down to the ref on the day of the game. But if there are fish grazing in the center circle then you could contact the league secretary and let him know.

 anyone feel like myself that herbertstown will cruise past summerville on sunday... i mean they are playing a much higher standard of football week in week out, and they are starting to get results....
i saw summerville playing against mungret when they drew two all with a dubious late goal and i have to say they are an extremely poor side...
by the end of the 1a season, i think you will see the likes of mungret defininetly pushing for top two in the league, and the likes of summerville will fall away...
mungret for promotion...

ps themerryman, i agree with a lot of your posts, you are a very articulate and intelligent man... keep up the good work..

ha ha do ye believe this guy you swear herberstown were a established premier team for years slagging off summerville in 1a they actually were a established premier team for years and have some very good players. just because you seen them play a poor game does,nt mean ye will walk all over them. that post could come back to haunt you.

Thanks Thomas,

If i can re-call that game against mungret,we were missing 3-4 players that day...We had mona in center half(never played there before) and a wedding the night previous!!! U can't make predictions like that on the view of one game....Look at the last 4 games we have played..Haven't lost in ages...Team on the up and yes we were a pretty good established team in the premier as well finishing 4th in our 2nd season up there...Lost a few players and lost our manager for personnel reasons and got relegated..Now the manager is back and has the team settled and pushing for promotion!!! Bring on the herbertstown!!!

I have seen summerville play this season and they are a big physical team with very little football in them. Ye seem to have a lot of weddings out there remember the caherdavin game. Herbertstown having beaten ball and view should have no problems with summerville.

not a lot between the herbertstown and summerville last year.....2 teams that are not afraid to get stuck in without it getting too messy....I don't think there will be a lot in this game and it could go either way....herbertstown being at home might give them the edge but both teams will be well up for it...

yes the team is playing well but i wouldnt think geraldines and park rangers are up to much and by no means has the manager that team settled from what i hear around. a lot of players in summerville want him gone from up there and someone with a bit of know how and coaching skills to take over.would i be correct there from your opinion?

i dont know what summerville team you are watching but your comment saying summerville are only a big physical team is a joke of a comment, they must be the smallest team in the league, only 3 of there starting 11 are big players, john shine, shane fitzgerald and damian quinlivan if he starts now danny colbert and darren o sullivan are back from injury and suspension. everyone else on that team is very average in build and height and on the bench only colin gorey has height and build.

You don't have to be tall to be big and physical, smallest team in the league...yaa right. When i saw them play they weren't afraid to put the boot in. When i said they hadn't much football in them I said that given that they want to be a premiere team next year. I would like to see them beat herbertstown, but only if they play the better football.:ball:

to be physical, yes i agree you dont have to be tall, but to be big you have to be tall. i agree with your other comments though about football wise, sure how would they with joe manahan, mike monaghan, damian quinlivan and alan daly in the team, not much football there, but they have some good footballers in cyril maher and 1 or 2 more who are well able to play ball but maybe not enough as you were pointing out.

Was at the h'town-s'ville match yesterday. Not a lot between the teams. Thought that s'ville played better football and had a couple of clear-cut chances which they missed. H'town's first shot on goal in anger didn't come until the second half and they scored from it. S'ville will feel unlucky. Great for H'town, first time out of town......
