Apparently we lost 3-1 tonight, even though the report caption said 4-2.

Does anyone have an e-mail contact for Aertel? Would love to e-mail them every time they got something wrong!

I thought we were winning 1-0 and glen Crowe scored for us.;) good signing himself and Glynn could make a good partnership:eek:

It'd almost be worth it! Had great fun that one time I e-mailed TV3 to complain about naming pretty much every single one of our players wrong, and they came back and denied everything, even though one of the errors was in writing!

According to the 11 o'clock sports bulletin last night Dundalk beat Cobh Ramblers 1-0 in Oriel Park with a Conor Gethins goal sending John Gill's men top of the table.

There is no way that anyone can be that stupid by accident and be able to get up and get to work in the morning without killing themselves somehow. It must be deliberate.

I actually believed that up until a couple of months ago but they did appear to get a bit better lately eg maybe only 1 result wrong every couple of weeks as opposed to most of them.

It does appear that it is somebody just taking the **** and it is hard to believe that somebody is that incompetent.

It's not the first time. There are examples of them including results from the wrong division in the past.

For example, here they credited Drogheda with a Dundalk result:

I can see Waterford making up that gap with the team they have, and theoretically they could finish on 108 points if they win their games in hand...but at this stage of the season points on the board are invaluable...

Felt bad that Errortel watch had slipped from page 1 and spotted this on rte.ie

http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2007/1218/derrycity.html?rss

"In his first spell, Kenny guided Derry to the FAI Cup, two League Cups and into the second qualifying round of the Champions League rounds. "

I'm sure we were in the UEFA cup but then again, RTE doesn't do the UEFA cup

Today in Irish Daily Star some pathetic crawling

We regret FAI errors

As Ireland's top sports paper, we publish hundreds - no, thousands - of articles each year about the FAI and soccer generally.
Unfortunately, sometimes we get it wrong.
One such example was in the June 17 edition of the Irish Daily Star. We stated that FAI Technical Director Packie Bonner was not part of the recruitment process for the International Performance Director and Under-15 international team manager jobs. We now accept that Packie Bonner is involved in both recruitment processes and we admit our error.
Also, in the edition of the Irish daily Star on Monday, June 16, it was stated that Brian Kerr, while manager of the Irish senior team, found it impossible to get match tickets through the FAI for the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal.
The FAI has informed us that, according to their records Brian Kerr received all the tickets he applied for at Euro 2004. The Star accepts this.
We are happy to clarify these important matters.

Irish Daily Star
"Better Because We Tell Lies about Irish Football."

The Star neglected to name the reporter(s) or Editor(s) involved in the decision to publish the erroneous information.

I don't know the facts in these cases but many "errors" newspapers admit to can simply be stories they cannot prove in court.

The danger is that you run a story based on the word of a disgruntled employee or former employee.

Anyway this topic reminds me that Aertel have got so much better later. Maybe they have been sorted out.

Tranmere in double transfer deal

Tranmere Rovers have completed the double signing of midfielder George O'Callaghan and striker Bas Savage.

O'Callaghan, 28, joins from Irish side Cork City, subject to international clearance from the Irish FA, while Savage has joined from Millwall.

Eh WTF is right! I go to TRFC home and away every season and rarely meet any Irish people ! Those that I have are there for EVerton or Liverpool the following day. There were a gang of Irish QPR fans from Galway over a few years back where the game got cancelled due to a frozen pitch in Prenton. It was their clubtrip for the year and they went to Goodison instead! As if their day couldn't have gotten any worse :)

I know from doing the scores each week that you can get it wrong at times, however give me a budget and resources and you should have no excuse. My problem is actually putting players in the correct positions :)
