They fly up??
We flew there the last time, yes. Seeing as nearly our whole team is Dublin based and Dundalk is now 40 mins from the airport it is a lot better than the old train and necessary changes never mind the bus.

With the sides level on 1-1 from the
first leg, Gothenburg took the early
advantage as Farid Ghazi put his side
in front from close range.
However the Drogs hit back through
Graham Gartland ten minutes after the
break, making it 2-2 on aggregate.
You just know whoever writes this up reads this thread.

They had Willie Doyle described as an FAI Cup Winner with Bohs...I could be hanging myself here, but I'm pretty sure he was about 16 when they won the Cup and still in Wexford

He won the league under Kenny in '03.
He's in all the pics after the trophy pres. in Tolka because he was on the bench, but don't think he played enough 1st team games to get a medal!

Good spot and I can only hope that it was someone in RTE with a sense of humour replacing Sundays game between Celtic (Hoops) and Hearts (Maroon):o
Aertel currently have galway leading 2-0 away to limerick yet have 3 goal times down. I'll take it its 3-0 then. Great result for Galway.

Must have been the guy commentating on radio who did that! Any of ye hear him last night? Jesus, he was diabolical...
After James Keddy scored the og, you could hear someone next to him telling him who had scored it. He appeared not to be watching the match at all.
And what was up wi' yer man at the Rovers - Kilkenny game. Class comedy listening to them though :D

That's the guy who did the last two Galway games - he sounded really nervous two weeks ago but since then he's always like that so maybe it's just astmha or something? :D. Cian O' something is his name...
That Waterford commentator hadn't a clue what happened - reminds me of the Waterford cameraman last year who missed a goal because he was zooming in on people's heads! :D

UCD v Limerick was apparently given as 2-1 res but then went to 3-1 and didn't have result for ages last night.
Pats v Dundalk was 0-0 well into the 2nd half and then went to 2-0 incl a first half goal.

I can confirm that re our game v pats, match kicked off at 745 and pats scored first goal at 8.23
at 9.10 it was still 0-0 (pats were now 2 up)

It's nice to see that RTE are no longer confining their incompetence to the Eircom League though. On Saturdays 6 O'Clock news, giving the English results, they had a new team called Tottenham Utd playing. The newsreader (think it was Colm Murray) read it out with a straight face as well.

What really bugs me is that after all the years of this crap i still check the results on it. I still believe them and still get frustrated when they are wrong.
Where do RTE find such incompetent idiots to update Aertel?

This is on Errortel (http://www.rte.ie/aertel/p226.htm) now.
Don Givens has made two changes to his
Ireland Under-21 squad for Friday's
clash with Belgium at Terryland Park.
Darron Gibson (knee) and Jay Tabb
(hernia) are replaced by UCD's Gary
Dicker and Anthony Stokes of Falkirk.
While Falkirk are currently in discussions with Arsenal about a loan move, the fact remains that even if the deal was agreed, Stokes would still be an Arsenal player.
Errottel trying to be a bit too clever...

I see Mark O-whatsit is blaming loud music in Premier Division grounds for the errors!!!
On an entirely different matter, can someone explain to me why clubs blast music over the tannoy before a match, at half-time and on the whistle? Who listens to it?
At Belfield Park before the UCD v St Pat's game, music was blaring out as I entered the ground at 7.00pm, but there were no fans in the ground.
I was joined by a reporter from a morning paper who rang his office to get a word count.
He couldn't hear a thing because what resembled a loudspeaker was pointing directly into the press box and he had to walk up to the Foster's Avenue end for a bit of piece and quiet.
It's the same at the end of games when reporters are ringing in full times to papers and media such as RTÉ Aertel.
Reporters also have to ring their paper after e-mailing a report to ensure it has been received.
The worst offenders are St Pat's who blast music out for five minutes at the end of the game.
Dublin City were the same but at least they opted for a bit of Luke Kelly. Now you know why the sports media often get the wrong goalscorer or take an eternity to publish a full-time result.
Also, I had a bit of fun in forwarding foot.ie's general aim to Wikify Irish football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aertel). :)
