if star beat shannon on sunday and get a draw against corbally they will be guaranteed promotion to the premier league and deservedly so been the most consistent team in the league just hope they beat corbally on tuesday for our sakes still have a really outside chance of making it. herbertstown have tricky matches left against corbally summerville and balla do they have caherdavin too anyone know all remaining fixtures for clubs going for promotion.

Fair play to ye. They are not an easy team to beat especially out in shannon. Are ye playing them tonight again in the league?
Ya we played them last night beaten 4-2 missing a few players but to be honest there's no real interest left for us in the league. If we made the final of the cup that would even be an achievement!

would I be right to say that if Star beat Corbally on Tuesday and Wembley fail to get maximum points, that Star are promoted ?

Below are a lot of IF'S & BUTS, but for what its worth, this is the story.

If we beat Shannon on Sunday and draw or win against Corbally next Tuesday night we are promoted.

If Balla draw with Herbertstwon on Sat night and we beat Shannon and Corbally we will be league winners.

If Balla beat Herbertstown on Sat night,
and we beat Shannon on Sunday then a draw with Corbally will garauntee us a play off with Herbertstwon (providing they win all their remaining games), and a win versus Corbally will garauntee us the league title also.

I was only saying that because ye were stuck for players a few games back when Pat Boland had to play for ye. So if are already promoted and are champions ye could find some players having less interest.

ya read that myself in the star they got the goalscorers name wrong too. they must of got wrong information cause herbertstown have a bit of work to do yet to make sure of promotion but there in the best position to get promoted win there remaining games and there up.

we won't be hit as badly as in previous years, a bigger squad with more depth this year than previous years but some players may GAA commitments clashing with the run in.....

went to watch herbertstown balla b bateman is a bit of a joke, balla took the lead early on but town equalised mid second half finished one all.

very tight game as usual with caherdavin in the greenhills cant exactly get it down and pass it say it was very poor match to watch very tough game. we threw it awat to be honest 2-1 up 5 mins to go. hard place to win whoever has to go there from now til end of season will have tough match.

anyone hear anything in the rumour that hill celtic might fold next year if they lose access to hogan park cause of limerick fc getting the long term lease and because of this happening they re will 3 teams getting promoted from 1a. im sure its not true but just heard this over the weekend.

Any player sent off receives an automatic one match suspension weather or not he appears before the committee. This means that you are suspended for your next match regardless if you are notified or not, you may receive a longer suspension if the committee decides the offence was serious enough to warrant it.

star and corbally drew 1-1!!! if we beat herbertstown and corbally and herbertstown draw we could still be there at the end for a play-off..slim chance but u'd never know!!! we still have to win all our games!!!

Any other results from last nite. Watched some of caherdavin match last nite, the 2 teams werent great. A draw would have been a fair result, caherdavin only had one real chance and they took it.

dines 1-2 Wembley

another tough game for us dominated in most but caught a few times on the break by dines especially keane up front for them caused us a few problems. they took the lead about half an hour to go 30 yard shot flew in maybe our keeper at fault. got 2 goals in quick succession after their goal seemed to snap us out of a bad period for us. hung in comfortably last 15 mins dines ran out of legs towards the end.

well done to star on their promotion last night. easily deserved.

we have Croom on Saturday, then the remaining games are Caherdavin, Summerville, Corbally....if Wembley win their remaining games, which I think they will, H'town, Corbally and Summerville have a good chance of taking points off each other, putting Wembley in the driving seat.....

well done to the ldmc for putting the majority of matches on sat evening would of being a bit of a disaster with people trying to go to both the munster leinster match and the clare limerick match (for the county teams)
Wembley to snake promotion despite playing our worst football since relgation from premier 5 or 6 years ago. very poor 1a this year.

They were in the middle of a bad run. Should have mauled ye 4 or 5. Also saw ye away to Geraldines. Again, poor.

What makes you think Corbally are good enough to go up. I saw them play 2 times this year. Lost to a very bad balla B team 2-0. The nucleus of the Star side are the same players that were relegated with Abbey last year. Unless they sign 5 or 6 well established premier players in the summer i can see them going straight back down next season.
As for the other side that comes up i wouldn't hold out any hope.

ive nothing against star,just dont think they are a great side. not a corbally man either i'm involved in the school girls soccer for the county

couldnt agree with you more. 10 of our starting 11 are under 22. but to say they put us under pressure is rubbish. they didnt get it into our half for the entire second half. and we should have beaten them the other night aswell but the referee gave them everything and we were lucky to get a draw because of him. in my opinion we havent come across a team yet in 1a that are better than us. its only a matter of time before we go up because we have the best players in the league,fact.

we didnt win the league becauce as you said, we thought we were going to walk it and didnt prepare right for games against the lesser teams. our arrogance cost us, as it does evry year,but we'll learn. as for the girls team, their not too bad, think most of them are starting for wembley at this stage!!!

realistically i dont think we'll go up cos its out of our hands. we've croom caherdavin and herbertstown left. i'd fancy us to win all three but even so if wembley win all their games they'll finish ahead of us.

That could be a crucial game, I'd fancy Wembley to win it though.

If Wembley have to meet corbally, that could be a tough run in.

Still reckon Star Corbally Wembley 1-2-3 with Summerville/Herbertstown sneaking 4th.
