Don't know maybe finding hard to get enough players or their best players for the early
evening KOs. Guess if it goes ahead it'll be same time same place.

Summervilleman, can you confirm if your game is on tonight? if so where (Garryowen or Rathuard) and what time (6.15 or 6.30)????

Our result against Balla was down to a few reasons.

1) Pitch in Bateman Park was absaloutly appalling and is an ankle turner.

2) We were not as good as we could have been.

3) Balla had a number of players playing for them that normally wouldnt turn up (ie; if it was a Sunday morning)

4) And finally to give Balla credit they did play well.

So as ye are playing them in midweek they will have a stronger than usual side out.

If ye are at home it will help ye, but if ye are away it will be impossible to play football, hence the reason the Balla "A" team havent played there since the start of the season.

2 must win games coming up for Summerville if they have any chance of getting promoted.

Corbally too will be looking for 6pts in their 2 games,

Both Corbally and Summerville will probably be shouting for Star on Sunday against Herbertstown.

ya we have them at home next thursday which might be a bonus. but as u say they will have a stronger than usual team. we will struggle to get players out for it cause of work commitments but no excuses should still win, win our last six matches and we might get a play off (very optimistic)

Yes you could say thAT...WE all pushed forward for the winner as the ref said it would be the last play of the game as we had a free in...then we got a corner and he played on and then we got another....we thought he'd never blow the whistle and then from the resulting corner they broke and we were caught on the break but i think one of the coonagh guys fell over the ball as he was about to shoot into an open net from about 18 yards out.....Good game though....They scored a cracking 2nd goal i must say....but our 1st goal was just as good as well!!!!

One or two tackles were going in but nothing to nasty until last 15mins. There was a bit of a brawl between the two teams. Balla ended game with 8 and corbally ended it with 10. Balla had 2 sent off for the brawl and corbally had 1 sent off. Then in last few minutes balla had a third sent off for a second yellow.

Played very well. No keeper, manager in goals!!!! Stuck it to them went a goal up and they were lucky to equalise. Winner courtesy of a howler from their keeoer. Ball came in he tried to catch it and slipped through his hands, simple nod into the net! Great game and without being biased we played them off the park..... tuesday night should be interesting!!

We (A) are still in with a good chance...The reason ye didn't get to change in the clubhouse was because only one dressing room is ready at the moment so the away teams get the portacabin....Better than nothing boss!!!

Thats fair enough.

Big fight at the end. A certain Summerville player (injured centre back who came on as sub for last 10 mins and not Gorey) started it when he lost the plot a bit. Stamped on two players and hit another from behind. A good few digs were thrown by 5 or 6 players from both teams. The Summerville player and our keeper both apologised afterwards in the changing rooms so not so bad.

As far as I know suspensions only come apply when you receive official notification. LDMC meet on Tuesday night so suspensions will be sent out tomorrow and arrive in post on Thursday or Friday and will probably say that they apply from Monday next. Cheers boss, we played a lot better tonight then we have done over the last few games.

Also heard that Wembley beat an understrenght Balla team tonight 5-0 as 3 Balla players were suspended, and Balla struggled to get a team out.

Larrywhite
To answer your query above, I think there is a new rule in, that if a player is sent off he will automatically miss the next game regardless of when the LDMC have their meetings, as 3 Pike players (that were sent off v Regional last Thursday night, and missed last Sunday's win v Balla) will testify.

If the Wembley result from tonight is correct then the updated table is as follow's:

1) Star Rvs Pl 17 / Pts 43. (Max Pts 58)
2) Herbertstwon Pl 17 / Pts 35. (Max Pts 50)

Our Keeper got injured against Summerville...it shows u need a quality keeper to have any chance...in fairness the gale force wind did not help either team...but Star are the best team in that division as that was Coonaghs first league defeat since Xmas....But of luck to Star...do things so simple...hold the ball upand play the space...Solid defence also.

Wembley 5-0 balla b

tho balla did have 3 players suspended for our game last night they still had a squad of 15 0r 16 players so i dont think they struggled to field a team abbeyvale and surely its there own fault for losing 3 players due to there usual lack of disclipline. was a very tough game a lot harder than the score suggests was only 2 nil after 65 mins and we got nothing easy off balla, and herbertstown will have a very tough game sat night at bateman.
