Seeing some of the bitterness towards the Bohs result really brings joy to my cold withered heart.

On the game itself. Bohs played excellent football throughout. Dawson Devoy just brings a sense of calmness to midfield that we have missed since he left. Tierney & McDonnell worked their socks off. Grieve looks like he's going to be a tidy player once he gets up to speed & Leigh Kavanagh in beside Rob Cornwall should be a fantastic partnership next year. Bohs desperately need a striker to finish off moves. They are getting into the positions but just lack that clinical edge. Rovers had a couple of chances for sure but I can't say I recall them having a dominant period of the game that you would expect. They looked tired and a bit disinterested which is a recipe for disaster when your opponents are on their game. Into the next round now and let's hope these performances continue, for both teams :D

Bohs better team and deserved the win, good luck to them
Fair play.on rovers tonight, Bradley got his team selection very wrong, or did he underestimate us that much?
Lopes noonan were ok but the rest??and someone please explain how Casey gets a game for them? He is absolute bog standard.
Clarke also when brought on begging for a ball out wide and not getting it, looked frustrated.
I honestly think Bradley now has a bloated squad that leaves players frustrated at lack of match minutes.

Very comfortable for Galway Utd tonight. U17 player, Kyle Fitzgerald came on in the second half, he looks the real deal.
When is the draw on for the next round?

The gulf tonight was enormous. The only criticism of Galway was the amount of chances they missed.

I’d be amazed if he’d underestimate an away cup fixture after the last 3 yrs. not our strongest team but good enough to win against most teams. If they play well. We didn’t, perhaps cos of lack of game time, who knows.

Bohs did play well and comfortably went through

Poorest outing of the season from Treaty tonight. Had plenty of chances but failed to take them and offered Kilbarrack two or three great chances to score.

Did well in the penalties. Into the hat for the next round and that's all that matters.

I'd prefer Bohs. We played Drogheda last season in Tralee

Wont be a new experience next season so! Totally answered my question legendz!

Kerry should have beaten Bray last week. Good win away to Cobh last night, especially considering Kerry's poor away form. It is disappointing not to be in the playoff picture. Kerry have left points behind them that would have them higher up the table.

Nonense, its so long since we were in the 1st division that tradition will dictate that we stay up! Yoyo United will be back doing what the do best.

Harps very very poor today. Long journey and down a lot of bodies didn't help.

That was awful from Harps. Wasn't great either from Cork City, but it didn't need to be, they were the better team and deserved to go through.

I feel like if I wrote honestly about Harps it would just invite the Finn Harps Online Defence Squadron, and if I wrote honestly about City it would just be going down the same old road about the standard of X season's first division, so let's spare everyone the tedium of either and just say that was a brutal game of football and we can all move on with our lives.

Dundalk deserved abs nothing last night, and another GK mistake into the mix for a goal to concede, not sure how I feel, would loved cup run, but its all about staying in PD.

Win a play off, scrape to 8th, whatever it takes, that said cup is of course special, but we were in no condition to be getting anywhere near the latter rounds this season, all the focus now on the league.

I've seen Dundalk win 8 cup finals, well 2020 was via TV due to Covid and the only one I've seen score 4 times, so had a good innings to date, can't complain too much.

Last Friday was near identical. I hope I never have to see this version ot City vs Harps again.

Hoping for one of the non league Cork teams in the next round. Expecting Derry away

Waterford, Cork, Treaty and Kerry all through to the Last 16. Non league clubs are always a potential banana skin. If Kerry draw a Premier Division club on Tuesday, Cork away next Friday is the best preparation they'll get.

4-0 win for UCD in Gorey today. Usual LoI v non-league stuff - bit of a gap in class, but that particularly told in the last quarter and we started getting much more space in behind them.

150-200 at it I'd say

Ballyfermot, UCD, Wexford and Shelbourne are all through to the next to round. Sligo v Cobh Wanderers and Derry v Pat's coming up at 6pm. The Cobh Wanderers players might prefer a bit of a later kickoff if they are watching the hurling!

Decided to give this a watch, and they just can't play out of the press at all, nothing in midfield and Melia up top is so isolated. I think Derry have played a big part in making Pats play badly, but I can't believe its this one sided.

So if Higgins deserved to be turfed out if Derry lost tonight, does Kenny face the same calls now? His first game in charge of Pats was against Derry, since then he has presided over just 2 wins in 10 domestic games (3 in 11 is LSC is counted) while at the same time, Higgins has presided over just 2 defeats in 11 games. Yeah Derry bowed out of Europe but assuming Pats do the same, how can he not be in trouble? They were cup winners and finished just 3 points off Derry in third last year, what’s good for the goose and all that . . .

He’s 10 games into a 5 year contract,it would be mental if he was to leave now, you’d probably have to wait to this time next year to judge him properly ,I’ve no idea if he’ll be a success at Pats but I’d say he has enough credit in the LOI bank that he would be given time….

Kelliher has splashed out on a 6 year contract for an overpriced manager and a whole host of new players, with a whole host of new players scheduled to join in the office season, although will any player of substance be wanting to play in Europe.
Pat's haven't a hope of finishing in the top 4 this season in my opinion.
if kelliher is any sort of businessman he'll be wanting a return for his very, very large investment next year I'd say..
interesting times ahead in richmond pk

Derry and Sligo both ran out 3-0 winners. The Last 16 are confirmed:
Galway
Wilton
Treaty
Bohemians
Waterford
Kerry
Athlone
Drogheda
Pike
Cork
Ballyfermot
UCD
Wexford
Shelbourne
Sligo
Derry

Bohemians, Shelbourne, Sligo and Derry are the standout potential home draws for Kerry, having not played them before. Treaty otherwise for a local derby and an even enough battle for making the quarter-finals.

Last 16 breakdown:
Premier Division - 7
First Division - 6
Non League - 3

Just asking - I know he has a long term contract, so was this season already a write-off when he came in? With just 15 games played from 36?
Would have imagined more would have been expected than just wins over us and Shams, he wasn’t exactly starting from a low base, so I was just wondering was there any suggestion of pressure or was this season just a free shot for him to get ready for next year, or the year after that, or the year after that or the year after that

Agree with the comments about Pats. They were so poor tonight, but probably fair to say we didn't allow them to play much.
In saying that, Pats probably had the best chance in the first half, was it Melia who had the chance for a header on goal but decided to pass it instead?
First half was controlled by ourselves, without creating anything too clear cut. Had a bit of an ominous feeling after Patching missed with his rubbish penalty, but Duffy really turned it on after and it was over fairly quickly after that.
It's the cup, and a win is all that matters, but it was nice to do it so comfortably and with a clean sheet.

Bit mad to be thinking Kenny is in bother. This year is free pass for him, basically. It's certainly fair to question Pat's approach to the game though. Also, what advantage did coming up to Derry on the Saturday night give them? We looked the fresher team, even after 120 minutes the other night.

Mammy always called me her favourite little scamp, but I was being genuine - are Pats fans happy to have this season as a write-off considering the finish to last season, or was that a ‘false’ finish.

I don't get the 'free pass' thing for SK this year, why? This was their only route to europe now closed off, and they won't finish 4th, even if they did, would need a top 3 to win cup.

He seems to be exempt from criticism from a lot of quarters, that was a really poor performance and I watched most of it, (in the background), and btw far from sour grapes, I thought he did a fantastic job at Ireland u21, he invigorated that whole set up, he was outstanding really, Ireland was a diff story.

He might do well at Pats, but some contract to be on with 5.5 years, he is well covered his end.
