Have to say parading through the town on a bus or walking down the town makes sod all difference.
Rovers were asked to do a bus parade around Tallaght in and around the estates so people could stand at their gates (bit like at funerals) but knocked it on the head as it was inevitable it would turn into a bun fight.
Hopefully its all forgotten pretty quickly and the GAA heads dont latch on to it.

That line is simply ridiculous, you get time of from masks when you are at home or able to maintain good distance from others, If you can't socially distance you wear a mask

Or watching a match behind a fence.
Lot of face coloured masks there.

I can just hear the virus there saying "Wait for it - wait for it! Until the people get off the bus, the rules are that no-one else can get infected". And then from the back, another virus calls out "Ah but they just won the FAI Cup for the first time in two years - can we not give them a night off like?"
I mean, well done on winning the cup and all - Filippo clearly hasn't been the joke many feared - but your comments were utterly daft and in the middle of a pandemic it's important to call stuff like that out.
If you want evidence of that, look at the increase in US infection and death rates in the aftermath of Trump's election campaign gatherings
Or the huge spike in cases after the Black Lives Matter protests.

Virus doesn't respect left or right wing nutters. it is a true believer in Equality.

Curiously, if you google "Is covid racist?", you'll get a worrying amount of results. It's like we just want to shoehorn racism into everything these days.

So if ucd had won the cup yous would be all standing with masks on!?
I'M not an anti masker but jaysus we need some time off from them.
If UCD had won the cup, would social distancing be such an issue for their supporters these days?
Even the man has gone missing.

What a brilliant end to the regular season by Dundalk, I honestly thought we were in real trouble from say 30-45 mins, Rovers were passing it unchallenged from side to side, we were happy to get to HT whistle. Rovers def deserved to go infront, but what a come back fuelled by McMillan, prob still say Rovers were the better team up to 60 mins, and at that point in was still 1-0. Crazy 5 min spell going 1-1, 2-1 up then 2-2.
Without doubt Dundalk got stronger in extra time, and the energy levels were amazing considering the long journey back from Norway on Fri afternoon. Shields was just superb, his work rate was non stop, and this at the same time when Jack B seemed to tire, indeed it was he who lost the ball to Flores who set up the winning goal with his pass to Kelly out wide, and what a ball into McMillan who controlled it perfectly to finish the game off.
Still say Dundalk have a lot of improvements to make to win back the league, as that Rovers MF man for man is better than ours at the minute, but ours worked harder and wanted it more yesterday.

I actualy got the impression rovers players were a bit overconfident and were kind of waiting for it to happen. Not been tested enough lately maybe...maybe the tough matches prepared dfc better. I do think there is a danger of over analysing 1 game, if pico had knocked in that chance in the 90th minute the narritive would be Rovers better team won deservedly , start of an era of dominance etc etc. He misses we gonto extra time dundalk win and the narritive is that dfc are back and next year is up for grabs.
My own view is rovers are currently better team based on season long form, but the off season is huge for both teams.

Remind me again with club had a coivd outbreak with their squad, Harps or Derry? And which area had repeatedly had the higher case numbers. Donegal or Strabane/Derry
Don't agree with using covid to score point but since you went there
Who cares ffs lads they won the cup always gone to be some sort of celebrations fair play to them enjoy.

Covid point score.
Erm, your lot started that on Twitter. Donegal based Derry players the problem.
And then when the Cup games were postponed due to the outbreak “Our players have to get time off work”
This happens all the time in Non League, particularly in the NI Pyramid and in the UK, but it was good for cheap shot at Derry so let’s use it.
You can hardly take shots at Dundalk and their fans when your own are crammed together, with no masks or 2m distancing, watching a Football match.
But let’s try and cover that up shall we?

Derry players were the problem indeed, its up to each club to set up Covid protocols and check their own players regardless if they are based in Derry, Donegal or Dakar.
Big difference in 10 or so people (several of which are St Pats fans) at a fence which I in no way condone watching a game and scores if not hundreds crowding in front of a bus. But I see rational thinking is not a strong point of yours
Who cares ffs lads they won the cup always gone to be some sort of celebrations fair play to them enjoy.
who cares? Vulnerable people that risk getting infected by the actions of these people care

What were Derry supposed to do then. Release all the squad players who live in the South, withdraw from the league.

Aye have you spoke to any vulnerable person as regards Dundalk cup celebrations to confirm they care?
Do you think Rovers didn't want to celebrate the league?
Should’ve then would have no issue with that either

Follow covid protocol like other clubs have, social distancing(when possible) temperature check before and after every game and training session, proper cleansing of equipment and facilities. Two outbreaks at the same club means some at that club were being lax or just not bothering with this.

Have you a clue as to how covid spreads?

Or unlucky, perhaps. I mean, if your neighbours have the kind of attitudes I'm reading in this thread, your risk goes up even if you are careful yourself.

And where is that Derry failed to do this or is it another one of your stories, like DCFC has a Nazi Element.

Cant believe this attitude is rearing it head again!! Its not fair play, it is reckless behaviour. Rovers led the way the night of getting the League trophy, Dundalk should have followed suit with public receptions during 2021 when it is safe to do so There isnt always a celebration if circumstance dont allow it as was proven at Tallaght!

Thank fook Derry had nothing to celebrate this year so.

You just make stuff up don't you?. Show me where i said Derry had a Nazi element. I simply pointed out the hypocrisy of you trying to shame Finn Harps for the go back to your own league banner when a Swastika was hung in the Brandywell. You are also the one who also opened the box of covid by using a pic (of mostly St Pats fans) watching a game from a fence behind Finn Park.
You also mentioned Mussolini getting votse in Donegal for some completely bizarre reason, so you are in no place to talk of stories

Correct. We don’t win trophies often enough to be wasting them in a year that you can’t celebrate properly.

So you can’t prove where DCFC broke Covid Protocols/Advice? Thought not.
In more positive news.
Looks like the Cup win has got Fillipo, Guiseppe and Shane the Manager and Coaches jobs Full Time at Oriel.

Back and forward on this is pointless, DFC should have avoided a parade official or otherwise.
End of story.
Whoever is in charge of admin in DFC is to blame.
Club should issue an appology and thats it.
In comparison to winning the cup its not a huge issue but has been handled badly.
Nah Nah Nah Nah

Only cause the league cup wasn’t played

I prove it when you prove a 75 year dead Italian dictator would be voted for in Donegal, or how a picture of majority St Pats fans at a fence shows Finn HarpS were complacent with covid. Or indeed even where I said DCFC had a Nazi element

Mod warning is spot on with the way things were going in circles but I do find it weirdly fascinating how Mussolini, Swastika flags, and Nazis ended up in a thread discussed between fans not involved in the cup final played last Sunday BHD. Certainly different from the usual issues with seating allocation, day played preventing a fanbase from travelling, who was least responsible for flares (hitting DFB members), collapsed seats, beers thrown from tiers above fans and subsequent chants by goalkeepers in nightclubs after. I know covid is getting under all our skin but...
