Great chance for Rovers to kill pats season in the month of May.

Or vice versa!

Won't draw a massive crowd out, harps are hard to break down plus the horrible thought of a replay in Ballybofey midweek.

On the other hand, it should draw a decent away crowd down as it'll be our only game of the season within 200km of Ballybofey unless we progress further and play either Derry or Sligo.

town and harps have met in the FAI Cup three times previously and each occasion it has gone to a replay! I wasnt around in 1995 but we got beat in Ballybofey in the replay after bein 2-0 up! In 2000 was at that first game which was a classic 2-2! always remember Richie Parsons scoring a -superb goal .we unfortunately got hammered in the replay In 2009 it again went to a replay which we won 3-0 I think! it has a draw all over it! I would take a draw and go up to Ballybofey again as always love visitin it due to the scenery around it!

Hopefully the supporters busses don't get swallowed up by a black hole on the way to Longford, seemed to happen a few times last season.

Seems to happen quite regularly down in Longford alright.

Much prefer it on the Friday to be honest. We don't travel well on Saturdays.

No need for crisps when we provide the best burgers in the league. We also throw in a perfect full view of the pitch for all supporters

Ah but you see, there's no cover for away fans in Oriels away section either. And for the most part the weather was dry. Ask the Derry fans did they get cover last week? ;)

Correct and Oriel is unacceptable but we don't visit other grounds and then pontificate about they're issues when we have our own. "Dry for the most part" well that's Ok then, just rained before the game and had to stand wet for the 90 minutes! What have Derry fans got to do with it?

Town Legend
10/05/2015, 10:27 AM
I had no issue with no cover at Oriel, so why bring that up? I had an issue about no viewpoint of one corner of the pitch because it was blocked by the stand. My other issue was been held back for 15 mins after the game. Were the Dundalk fans held back? No they were not.

I was also standing behind the goals when that 'shower' came and to be honest I wasn't wet for the 90 mins. Must of been a serious rain cloud over the away section!

No need to hold away fans back as most of the Longford ultras streamed out of the ground after the second goal

I'm on about Oriel!! Can you not read? ;) I'd say you were one of Dundalks new additions in the last year or two Ezeikal....a true ultra there! If you've never seen Dundalk fans leave Oriel when 2 down in injury time then you are only a sunshiner!

TL - your posts are consistently petty, unnecessarily personalised and childish - thankful you do not appear to be typical of Longford supporters that I met yesterday and previously in Oriel

For what it is worth, I can read perfectly well and noted that you asked "Were the Dundalk fans held back?".

You could get to both, if you wanted to:
Bohemians v Firhouse Clover, Dalymount Park, Friday 29 May 19.45.
Edenderry Town v Derry City, Paddy Maloney Park, Sunday 31 May 14.00.

I noticed that Sheriff have been given permission to play a potential replay against UCD in "the cage" on the Astro pitches in Coolock. Makes a bit of a mockery of the competition. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Junior soccer website giving out that Sligo and UCD won't accommodate Crumlin and Sheriff players on their trip to Portugal this weekend. They've always had something against LOI in fairness. Crumlin player then responds saying Sligo were good to them and they don't really mind it http://fb.me/7rvW74NeU

"Sligo Rovers polite and accommodating (professional) in FAI Cup dealings with Crumlin shocker" - That's a much more impressive heading.

Cabinteely draw, Harps win, Limerick win, Dundalk game to be closer than expected. Pats win too as the cup hoodoo is firmly passed on to the cup specialists.

Going over the last ten years of Limerick in the FAI Cup makes for depressing reading altogether. Out after one round six times, two rounds three times, and 1/4 finals twice. God knows the club could do with a decent cup run right now, not to mention maybe a good tie at the Market's Field. Have to get past Bray away first though, and God knows what's going to happen.

Edit: Already losing a few minutes in.

Harps down to 10 men but 1-0 up.

Longford seem to be well on top at the min.

Packie Mailey with his first appearance of the season after missing all of pre-season and the early part of the season with a knee injury. Keith Cowan back after 3 weeks out. McNamee and McHugh getting rare starts too.

Sligo not letting Donelan or Keating play so they must be re-calling the boys in June.

Roddy definitely working his magic at Waterford.

Tolka 2-1 Waterford
Bohs 4-1 Firhouse
Bray 3-1 Limerick
Drogs 3-1 Cabo
Dundalk 5-0 Shels
Galway 1-0 North End
Pats 2-1 Rovers

Sam_Heggy

Wexford 0-2 Cork

Longford 1-1 Harps

Delighted with that to be honest, down to 10 men for over 70 minutes away to a Premier Division side.
Looking forward to Monday night's replay in Finn Park now.

Seems we got through a potentially tricky tie without too much trouble tonight. Sullivan starting to do well again after a quiet start to the season. Looks like the cup kings (rovers) will have to wait another year to add to their dominance of the competition.
