A fantastic effort by our young team, we went 2 down early to a couple of very sloppy goals from our point of view, but then we dominated the far more experienced home side, and but for some last ditch defending, we may have gotten a point. Couldn't ask for more from our boys, on to Newport.

great result for hibs tonight they battled hard played some nice football at times and rode their luck a few ;) times to grind out a result, Shannon town unlucky not to get a draw at least but was very disappointed with their performance at times tonight ... when did young martin switch from town to hibs !!! and then to score the winner


So much for a derby, tame affair last night, although Pakie Darcy did threaten to cut loose mid way through second half.. Hibs took the only real chance they got, tidy finish from Jamie Martin after a great ball from Davy Wall. Town enjoyed most of the possession but all they had to offer was long straight balls, Alex Cole and Steven Tuts mopped it all up. Very disappointed with town as they had zero imagination to break down hibs who seemed to sit in after taking the lead, poor game over all.. On a side note, Davy Wall is still a joy to watch..Gerry Kelly isn't.

taught pa McMahon for town and jack Kelly for hibs also stood out. was expecting a bit more flare from both sides, its a local derby after all.. town substitute Kelly was also lucky to stay on the field after two blatant dives, shown a yellow for one.

Yeah so did i especially since we were playing the team on the bottom of the league with no points. To be fair we dominated possession and had plenty of chances to win it but didn't take any of them and they took there only two chances of the match really but well done to them and best of luck to them for the rest of the season!

Second you have not seen that many hibs games so as they have been very poor at times this season also , but agree I thought hibs would have pushed on also after result Thursday night.

Jamie martin left because he was not getting any game time .. as far as I know monaghan had played most league games this season and all Wesley webb but played a lot of games in goals not sure of how much games young downes got ,, but still for young players who spent all there underage with Shannon town to leave must be a worry.. I wont name the player as don't think it is fair on him or club .. but was told be a Shannon town member he was on his way so unless they are stirring it :confused: I suppose we will know for definite in next week or so.

sorry did not know young martin was not signed for town .. strange as he looks like a nice footballer .. monnie has moved around a few times but always came back home to town and would have played all his under age with town good enough for a true town man for me .. plus on his day a better player than a lot of the current squad . heard gunner had two more signed with young downes but did not hear any names mentioned will have to wait for the press conference .. I cant understand why players sign for clubs and then leave after 5-6 games due to limited game time ? no guarantee of game time at any club now and they should have t the heart to stay and fight for your place , two tough games for both hibs & town at home sunday morning in fai to moyross & carew park .. best of luck to both of them

And Jordan Downes played 15 mins in Shannon towns opening games, think he got a couple of goals in that time too. What makes you think he wont get regular game time at Hibs Second?

Yeah he blew up with about 20 to go alright, Pike were surprisingly poor! Maybe they were missing a few? but they had 17 players with them anyway so i wouldn't have thought so

Killmallock 1-1 Pike B

A brilliant point for us this morning but it could have been all three. We had to defend for long periods and were really well organised but we managed to get in front with 20 minutes left after a super finish from Jonathon Power. We then defended superbly until an unfortunate own goal three minutes from time. There is no doubt for me that this Killmallock team is the strongest we've faced so to come away with something, bearing in mind the manner of our defeat last week showed real courage from our lads. We'll hopefully kick start our own season now from here.

We(carew park) played killmalock in a pre season friendly at the start of the season and I taught they were extremely good and were missing some of there better players.I think they will go very close to winning the league this season.

Explain what exactly? Last week we had a collective nightmare against a good Shannon Hibs team that took full advantage, on the day. Man for man they are certainly not in the same bracket as Killmallock, in my opinion. The turn around this week was down to a serious effort from our boys to banish all thoughts of last week and we did that from the very first minute. The Hibs result fuelled our performance and that says a hell of a lot about the character of our team.
Now, does that work for you, or do you want me to paint you a picture?

You came on here at the start of the year telling anyone who cared to listen/read how some of your team mates are top notch. Simple fact is they have very little interest on playing just showing up for a game and sure if we get a result great if not who cares. Please spare us the boring propaganda about pike b week in week out. No more crap about how the lads really pulled together and put in display scripted straight off the tv and mainly the same sort of drivel spewed out by the rugby boys.

We were poor yesterday lads..table don't lie we're 5th so can't be the strongest..have drawn 5 already..not good enough..missed tommy Heffernan Paul doona and Seanie Kelly big time yesterday..hopefully we can sort it out soon and get back on track..fair play pike fought hard and got the point...we missed too many chances again..but could easily of had a pen late on to win it..

How can "Top notch 1A players" get beaten 9-1 in Division 1a and still be seen as "top notch 1A players"?
One of the Hibs players that scored 2 last week is very close to if not over 40 and managed to score 2 against these "top notch 1a players"
