Newport 1 vs 3 caherconlish. Danny healy with newport goal. It was close game 1 all with 10 mins left. We gave away a penalty and conceded 3rd right at da end. Better performance by us from 1st game. Very young side out again

Knockainey 1-1 Pike Rvs B

A point earned here for us for sure, we made 5 changes to our 11 from victory over Hospital on match day one. We went in front from a superb early finish by Graham Bourke, then the home side came at us hard and quickly equalised. We were pushed back a lot and needed some outstanding defending and goalkeeping to keep the home side at bay, but thanks mainly to our organisation and effort we deservedly came away with a point. Tough tough place to go and I expect Knockainey to trouble everyone out there this season.
On to Moyross.

Hi lads. Long time since I've been around these parts since I'm not at home any more. Anyway, just looking at the scores from the weekend and was wondering who Moyross picked up this season?

Mungret 2 - 3 Moyross

2nd defeat on the bounce for us. Moyross in fairness played well & have great team spirit. I thought it was an even game with Moyross starting better & scoring quite early. We equalised rather luckily after about 25 minutes & dominated the rest of the 1st half. HT 1-1. The 2nd half was even enough with Moyross slightly shading it I'd say. They got what I thought looked a very harsh pen with about 15 to go & after that held out with great team work & tacked on a 3rd on the break. We keep trying & scored a late consolation through Pa O Donoghue.
We travel to Shannon Town Thursday night with what looks a really tough game. Well done to Moyross & best of luck for rest of season.

Shannon Town 1 - 2 Mungret Regional

Good win on Thursday to get our season up & running. Getting to Shannon for 6.30 was a struggle for us & we just about got going on time with a few lads arriving late. Shannon started well with it taking us about 15 minutes to get going. We came into the game well from that point & had a couple of half chances. Shannon scored a good counter attacking goal after 25 mins & dominating the rest of the half. We scored just before HT against the run of play with a great finish from Barry Danaher after good work from Keith McNicholas. The second half was a fair contest & we scored what would be the winner through Keith McNicholas with 60 mins played. We held out comfortably enough with Shannon having one or two half chances. All in all a good result after two disappointing results. Up next is Dromore at home Sunday.

What was the hibs team?
Only had the bare 11 and then Rob Wall had to go off injured after 10 mins so we played majority of the match with 10 men, missing 3-4 through injury and a couple were away

A hatrick from Keith McNicholas & a goal a piece for Barry Danagher & Marcus Finucane secured a win for us against Dromore Sunday morning. Caherdavin away next Thursday which is always a very difficult game.

There always seems to be goals when we play in Greenhills! Last year the game had 5 goals, year before had 8 this year 7 goals!! An even enough game with both teams playing relatively well considering the grass on the pitch was very long. Caherdavin led one nil after sloppy defending from a corner. We equalised from a corner through Eugene McNamara. Caherdavin then went 3-1 up, we pulled one back just before half time again through Eugene McNamara. Ht 3-2.
Second half was tight. We equalised with about 20 left & got the winner 10 from the end both scored by Marcus Finucane - the winner in particular a brilliant strike worthy of winning any game. Best of luck to Caherdavin, next up Pike b Sunday.

Agree with you it is always terrible to see any player get that type of injury especially your own!! Hopefully he's out for the minimum time possible! As far as the match being re-started, why wouldn't it be re-started? the ambulance was there within 10 mins. as they say the show must go on;)

Tricky situation this,if ref asks both reams do they want to continue then and both agree then no problem.But you could also have a scenario which as you say ref should not have restarted the game where a player has an injury which may not be too serious and his team are losing or maybe down to 10,and he's rolling around the ground screaming.Do you call the game off?I've seen games continue and also abondoned so I wouldn't be too quick to lay blame on ref.most importantly speedy recovery to the young lad.
