What's with the Sligo fans having a picture of Michael D Higgins in Sligo gear? He's a notorious Galway head.

Is this some sort of left-wing statement by the notoriously highly-politicised Sligo ultras?

Might be a long shot but Premier Sports in the UK are showing it on the off chance you might subscribe (Sky Channel 433)

They literally decided to show in the last hour after thinking earlier in the week they didn't have it.

A goal worthy of a cup final and a goal for a player who deserves that. Around the first division for many seasons and always a decent goalscorer. The game needed that.

Well done Philly Hughes.

Welcome to the Richie Winter show
refs need to stamp out diving, players get away with it way too often. Clancy felt a touch and took a dive

juan

Clancy told to bring the champagne back out with him.

What does anyone reckon the crowd is ? Would it be 20K ? They should have closed ther top tiers, made it more compact. Great goal by Philly.

fair play to ref.....clancy is an ex united player and liked him a lot when he was it us last year BUT the first was a booking and the second was a booking so he's off! WELL DONE REF

Dunny
06/11/2011, 3:30 PM
That did not merit a booking, there was contact. Harsh.

El-Pietro

Its a contact sport. there wasnt enough to knock him over - he dove, he deserved a yellow

Now that the ref has been appointed should we rename the thread to the "Richie Winter Show"
Good call. Ridiculous sending off. Hope it doesn't spoil the game.

Winters must have a few quid on Sligo. Been their best player by a long way, luckily for them as Sligo are playing rubbish.
Shocking decison for red card. Sligo getting some soft frees as well.

Can't see Shels holding out now, especially with having to play extra time.

Paisley best player on the pitch.

Paisley is a lucky boy

In fairness to Paisley only had eyes on the ball. Ironic thing is, if he hadn't given Clancy that ridiculous 2nd yellow he would have given it this time to Paisley.

Richie Ryan must be hoarse from all his bitching to the referee.

Good performance this from Shels. Boyle and Paisley have been outstanding.

Gavin Peers is c**t. Elbow to the back of shels player head. If ref seen it, then it should have been red.

Greene goes in studs up & only yellow card, getting more farcical as game goes on

Paisley lucky again - should have 3 yellows

Same old same old from Sligo anytime they face any sort of defence. Laboured, slow, profligate..

Extratime and tiredness will be the deciding factor unfortunately

"Sporting Fingal who were the First Division Champions"

No they weren't. How is Stephen Alkin still employed? He is clueless

Epic stuff from Shelbourne. Some of them are out on their feet, but Sligo are inept. Long balls into the box at Blinkhorn seems to be Sligo's only tactic.

You would wonder are Sligo deliberately playing for penalties.

Time for Sligo to get Ciaran Kelly on.
