I have asked before, where in the rules does it prevent the use of puns (good or bad ones). Hint, it doesn't.

It's going to be devastating for a few posters here when this lad retires. Just as well that Will Fish lad that got sent off today for Man United isn't Irish or we'd have another 10 years of it coming up.

Up to eight now, already his best tally in a season since 2019/20, when he got 10 for Falkirk.
Just seen him referred to on twitter (Rep of Ireland Player Tracker) as the Sammon of College :D :D gave me a good laugh!!

Leading Irish scorer in the English/Scottish leagues I think? Highest tally for a season since his breakthrough season at Kilmarnock, when he had 18 by this time (and then moved to Wigan in the Premier League)

93rd minute winner to all but confirm Alloa's playoff spot. Sixteenth of the season; only McGoldrick at Derby has outscored him among the Irish players in Britain this season I think. Which says a lot about our forward options at the moment

On the other hand, Evan Ferguson has scored five times as many EPL goals in the last three-and-a half months as Sammon did in his entire career.

Sammon wasn't quite at the level we needed for Ireland, but he should be celebrated as a good example of someone staying in Ireland, finishing a proper education, and still achieving a good footballing career.
