I heard Messi was confirmed? Then again, World Cup, Catalonian national side . . . who knows. Still, a Shels XI in Barcelona jerseys would pull more than SA or Australia.
I doubt it. He's skipped out on the international game in the Aviva to go touring Asia.

Did Sadlier just say "Gary Keegan"?

Only Ibrahimovic and Bojan would have been there. Still, it would have outsold the Ireland games, but I'm not convinced it would have been a sell-out.

Maybe, I heard some fairly hefty ticket prices rumoured. That said, I'd like to think we'd have sold most of the tickets before the final Barca squad was announced, and it was in the contract that we paid them less for each star player that wasn't featured.

That's all beside the point though. The point that jbyrne doesn't want to accept is that the FAI didn't refuse to sanction the friendly because they wanted to save Limerick from losing money, they did it because they've decided that any real money-making friendlies will be have to be at the Aviva, so the FAI get the cash.

The 15,000 attendance cap in the third-party contract, and Delaney's admission that the clause is 'all about money' to Marian Finucane (I think) make that pretty obvious.

Feck it. It should be a Waterford United XI playing there tonight since we did play Man Yoo in '68 the first game at the old venue. Georgie was right. ;)

same Peadar. Sickening.

And on the Peers goal, how typical. Stoolers will be chucking into their pints at that one. And ive never seen anything like that in my time following Bohs. Typical.

I think he was probably trying to play it off him for the goal kick. Bad decision, but it's a freak deflection that 95% of the time is never going to amount to anything. Feck!

I didn't think I cared about this game, but after seeng the legions of smug glory hunters inside the stadium, I've realised I really do!

If there was ever a case for mass culling, tonight is it. Think about it, we could eliminate 45,000 odd morons from the gene pool.

Someone get on the phone to Kim Il Sung and see what is the running price for a tactical nuclear strike is.

Get Shaun Williams off, he is offering nothing

The most depressing thing about this match is not that all the barstools will be saying that the League of Ireland is a load of ****e. The depressing thing is that they will be right.

Then after we've finished bombing Waterford city into dust we could maybe turn our attention to the Aviva?? :p
