To be honest that website is not the best. We're flying from Gatwick via Billund on the Monday morning but got our flights on Opodo. Two things to bear in mind if you're using Opodo, their website is extremely slow, or at least it was when I used it so you are probably better off just ringing them. Secondly you have to be able to provide them with a UK postal address for the tickets to be sent to as they don't post tickets abroad. Otherwise they were fine though. Out tickets were posted out to my friends address in england within a few days of the booking being made.

From the London Club newsletter
"In response to my request to increase our allocation the FAI have responded by allocating 49 tickets to the club. On that basis, I am pleased to confirm that any member who is a Block Booker of any category and who confirmed their ticket request will be allocated a ticket for this game. This leaves us with 3 tickets left to be allocated among 6 members who are not Block Bookers. There are a few more avenues still to explore and I am hopeful of being able to secure a ticket for each of those 6 non Block Bookers. I will keep those 6 advised in due course."
Great work by the man from Wicklah :)

i have a bit of a problem. i was going to surprse me bro for his 21st by going to the faroes. 3 day trip ( 7,8,9) and accomodation sorted.thought his exams would be finished but he came home last nite and said he has exams on 9th and 10th of june.what the fcuk???? any advice.not looking good  :(
Now is the time to ruin the surprise part. What I mean is that to give him any chance of getting the exams deferred for a while or even until he gets back (if this is possible at all) he would probably need to give them as much notice as possible. I suggest telling him your plans and then leave it to him to see what he can do.

For ticketless fans, proves worth to some degree joining the RISSC in Dublin/London/elsewhere to improve chances of getting tickets!
Am unsure of current contact details.......try a Google search? :o
Still think we'll be able to get tickets over there. They had c 1500 spare for the France game.

Who else is booked with StandUp? With the amount of people on here now the whole plan (66 seats) will be foot.ie people.
(Though if fatboy is on board I'm sure a couple of seats will be out of action).
:D
Yeah hats right pick on the fat one, I actually lost 5lbs I'm only 298lbs now!

I don't know if any of you listen to The Right Hook radio show on Newstalk FM. They do a travel show every Tuesday just after the news at 6:30pm. He said last night that they would try to do a spot on The Faroes some Tuesday between now and the game.

Paying E410 for travel and E7-ish for accommodation for the entire week!
Agent travel is ridiculously expensive, even allowing that you'd be staying in a B&B!

I just saw this on another site. A shame about the standard of the beer but them not being able to kick out drunks is definitely in our favour.
Faroe Islands
Some of the worst beer in the developed world- tasteless, sharp, acidic, and very over-priced. Still, the locals don’t let get in their way of oblivion, so good luck to them! For years alcohol was strictly rationed on these rocky outcrops, and with good reason – the lack of genetic variety has obviously hampered their ability to process the booze (this is especially true amongst the Inuit population, who share a genetic trait with those of oriental descent that does affect the body’s processing of alcohol).
Couple this with a strange, yet entertaining law, that prevents bars from ejecting drunken customers, this provides every bar with it’s very own cabaret show. Which is handy, seeing as there’s only 3 proper pubs in the whole of the capital city! One legacy of the prohibition days are “key clubs” – local hideaways for fisher-folk, described by Tom Small and Maurice as “something out of Star Wars”. Stories also abound of the locals “coming out of the trees” in the early hours armed with bottles of vodka and whisky, although the more cynical of us suspect that this may be a case of the DT’s. Class, pure class. Special respect is due for the ability to get so drunk on such poor beer.

I read that before. Its sounding more and more like something out of Father Ted. Keep getting this strange mental picture of locals hiding in trees with bottles of Vodka, brilliant. i can not wait :D

What are the bets that that law will be repealed after the Ireland match? :D

I sent a query off to Heidi in the Smyril Line Office about the Faroese currency. As ever she was very helpful. Here's what she had to say:
I can understand the confusion, but the Faroese Krona is the same currency as the Danish Krona - we are a part of Denmark and thus we use their currency. So you will get by just fine with Danish money.
It's just as well we have a reliable source as the banks I had asked here about it hadn't a clue.

I seem to have the image lodged in my head of a very drunk customer being forcibly dragged back to the bar as he attempts to sneak out of the hostelry for the 5th time, pleading with the bouncers "I promise I'll be fine this time", "sure I'm grand to go", "I've only had one or two" etc.
Turn up for the books

I was thinking along the lines of The Wicker Man and imagining one of our young maidens being offered up to the Gods! :D
