Division 2
Breska Rovers 0 Rathkeale B 2

Notaclue

After looking at todays results the premier division is too close to call but I think that Rathkeale will prevail. In the first division I think that Killeaney will get through if they win their home games and beat Feenagh on Tuesday evening away. Rathkeale B had a good win away today and could get promotion ahead of a Kilcolman side who seem to be going off the boil. Big surprise in the 3rd div.Lge Cup with Creeves going out, so I think it's probably a Granagh Utd. chance there to win it. The div.3 playoff game going to Broadford Utd. B was a surprise to me but I would expect that both Creeves Celtic and Granagh Utd. would both win and get promoted with Granagh Utd. eventually claiming the title.

I doubt you would be tipping Rathkeale A to win the premier if you saw the display they put on yesterday. It would be safe to say 'the worst i have ever seen'. But well done to NCW they played some good football yesterday and it's safe to say the title race is wide open now.

Maybe so but every team is entitled to an off day and I think that this may have been Rathkeale's. Theyr'e home to Abbeyfeale on Sunday so they have an immediate chance to put things right straightaway. Newcastle are home to Shannonside also

I haven't heard anything but i hope to god that they leave it alone. Would make the league a right farce. Its tough to get off to a winning start with players still involved in Gaa and if you don'tget results from your first few league games then your out of the running

I heard of a different proposal to cut the top few leagues down to 8 teams. It would mean 3 being relegated and 1 going up. Obviously it would be the season after next but I for one think its not a bad idea at all. Can anyone tell me if this was discussed at the meeting Mon night. It might make the leagues more competitive and less games is always a bonus especially with the amount of cup competitions.

It's very interesting in Div.2. Does anyone know who Pallaskenry, Kilcolman and Rathkeale have left to play? Carrig Celtic relegated today but no doubt they will be eager to make a quick return next year. Sometimes teams need to go down to improve and they have the nucleus of a decent side there, particularly as their youths had a fine season this year.

thanks Western Gale... I got the fixtures backwards.....isn't it amazing that it keeps happening to Killeaney? Those lads will be knackered by the time they get their league finished.

Desmond Cup Semi Final
Athea Utd 2 Newcastle West 1
Darren Murphy put Athea ahead after ten minutes with John Cotter getting a second before half time. Newcastle got one back in the second half with an own goal but Athea held on despite coming under strong pressure from the premier division side. Athea are now into their first ever Desmond Cup final and on the first Friday in June the division one side will meet either Glin Rovers or Rathkeale

Congrats to Athea. Brilliant achievement
Am I right in saying they were without 2 or 3 of their best players as well ?
