Great wind for NCW, looks like they are turning the season around after an indifference start. They would be a good outside bet now at this stage. With the RAIN there will hardly be games til after christmas at this rate. Some of the Pitches will be destroyed....The Season could run well into June again at this rate

sky blue or anyone, What's the story for the F.A.I. game for this Sunday? Will Rathkeale be playable? With the amount of rain falling all last night and still going this morning let's be realistic here there's no way it'll be playable.

27/11/2009, 2:10 PM
That`ll be up to the ref to decide Studsup, another weekend of travelling with nothing at the end of it. Bloody rain.

Well if it's the same ref who inspected the pitch out there two weeks ago then we'll take it that it's off :D
This is the third week in a row that this game has been down for decision and last week in the Limerick District League a few clubs were contacted on the Friday to make a call on their pitch being playable or not because they were under pressure from the F.A.I. to get the Third Round games played so surely the Desmond League will have to get Rathkeale to make a call on their pitch today or at the latest tomorrow.

I dunno Studsup. I`m pretty sure Rathkeale would be well within their rights to get an inspection on the pitch Sunday so it wouldn`t be switched to Newmarket because they wanted it off for some reason.

OK sky blue... Look as you saw yourself our pitch was in tip-top condition and 100% playable last Sunday, any other ref in the Clare League would have played the match without any hesitation. Let's just say it wasn't the first time that ref called off a game when a pitch was perfect...

Glin and Shannonside should be a good game with Glin being back to full strength after the football.
Good luck to Rathkeale hope ye do the business sunday.
Newcastlewest Rvrs will cause Askeaton problems up there, I can see it being a draw.
Newcastle should have a bit too much for Broadford I would think.

what shape is NCW Rovers pitch in with the bad weather? Will they have to play away?
if Askeaton can continue scoring lots of goals then they will sail through this one, although its a tough enough place to go for a win

Well done there Tom, fairly obvious that there in the Kerry League. Glin will beat Shannonside handy, from what ive seen of Shanagolden they are an ageing side. They will stay up but only because the standard of the league is so poor. Im not digging at anyone but the only reason the likes of Askeaton are top is because NCW are rebuilding.

Home win- Abbeyfeale- Carrig aren`t up to much

Glin V Broadford - Hard to call, but id go for a home win 1-0
Abbeyfeale V Carrig Celtic - Abbeyfeale 4-0
Askeaton V Rathkeale - Rathkeale to win 2-0, I kind of Agree luck for Askeaton has to run out
Shannonside V NCW Rovers - Shannonside Possibly, Have not seen Rovers so il go for a home win 2-1

Everyone singing off the same hymn sheet almost for the weekend, I will stick to my predictions but I think there will be more goals in the askeaton V rathkeale match both good attacking sides.
I dont think results in these games will shape the outcome of the league trophy, still be very close going into 2010 as no one can really pull away.
Newcastle are getting wins back to back every week now and looking settled again.
Shannonside are putting it together now too. Winning is a habit as they say, You could see alot of draws this season, wins will be so valuable.
Its great stuff really for the league.
Desmond cup should produce some good draws next year some very decent sides in Div 1 this season

This suspension thing is a joke when referees can hand out yellow cards for nothing, god be with the days when you had to earn your booking, we are all big boys playing a physical game, no wonder it gets bad press against rugby and GAA.
And this year its down to 4 yellows. We dont have massive squads to fill the gaps
There would't be half as much diving across channel if the ref's kept the cards in their pocket a little longer, a fair hard challange is a thing of the past and something we all learned from when we started http://foot.ie/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif
