so 4,500 tickets for irish fans - 1000 irishh fans who already bought their tickets (for tiflis). does that mean, that the 3,500 remaining tickets are only sold to you in mainz if you show ur irish passport
and are they only starting to sell the neutral tickets tomorrow?
good thing is my grandmother only lives about 10 min from mainz, so I'll be going there for sure!

So it is barring the 1000 going to Tiblis a first come first served operation? If so then I am hopeful of getting tickets as I arrive in Mainz early Friday. If I can will try get one or two extra im sure people will want them.
If you manage it Ronnie ...I'll take two off you. I'm not getting into Mainz til about 3pm Saturday so I'm less likely to get them from the ticket office.

Ronnie, I'll take two also if you get them (after Lionel of course). I have a feeling we are going to have to pay mucho euros to a tout as we don't get to Mainz until 2pm at the earliest on Saturday.

thanks.
I was wondering if the tickets for the irish fan block are only sold to people with an irish passport?
"Booths will also be open from 10am on Saturday, but Irish fans are urged to purchase their tickets at their earlier possible convenience, while they must also have their passports available for inspection."
or is that just for the 1000 ticket holders who were going to tiflis?

Yeah thought it was a pretty good gesture, 1000 tickets @ approx E25 E25K - probably saved them a few pound not being in Georgia and transferring from Georgia but still, they could of kept it.

still thinking about going there by car 4 hour drive from me (bavaria) and the f***ing train is about 120€ return!
does anyone know if you can buy tickets for the irish fan block in mainz? or are they just selling the neutral tickets there? and just giving the irish tickets to irish supporters who booked them with the fai ?

Seems to be first come first served after the 1,000 who had booked for Tbilisi are sorted.
The neutral sections will be all Irish too. I can't see too many Germans going.

anyone going to the game should nip into town and buy some of those face masks - it'd be funny to see a load of irish supporters wearing them if Kilbane is playing with one.

Do we all know the words of Phantom of the Opera?
Or we could just air guitar Iron Maidens Phantom of the Opera? (non metallers will know it as the lucosade ad from their childhood that had Daley Thompson in it)

For everyone arriving into Hahn tomorrow and thinking of getting the 13.00hrs bus to Mainz, its €11 a head but on this page HERE (http://www.orn-online.de/aiportshuttle/busfahrplan_mainz.htm) It says that there is a group tariff for groups of 10+ so should we organise it that we'll all lump in together as a group and get the weekend off to a cracking start!

True that. During both matches, it was often remarked that even though there was only about 2,000-4,000 of us, the atmosphere was way better than at Croker. When the prawn sandwich brigade and day-trippers go to the Italy game next April, will they please join in.

It's a little bit late, but I've found this thread only now: I want to say, it was a fantastic atmosphere in Mainz! Great irish fans. So loud, so funny, so peaceful, friendly (and so drunken :D ). Absolutely great support for Ireland! I think nearly 3.500 irish fans was in the stadium. They sang 90 minutes - that was f***ing brilliant!
So I was absolutely remunerated for the long journey to the match (13 hours from Rostock by train - and the same back). :)

Did any of you lot join in the Georgian protest march up to the stadium. I know it was a serious matter for the Georgians but we had a good laugh and the georgians really appreciated the fact we joined them. The german cops found it amusing to see a group of well oiled Paddy's chanting 'Russia go home':)

I would have joined the protest in support of Russia but it may not have gone down well.
