Can get to Montenegro on Prague route as well.. spend a few nights in Prague:) and sky europe fly from prague -dubrovnik(€62 inc taxes) morning of game..
Are you still thinking of going this route buddy? You can get that flight for about a tenner on Sky Europe's website at the moment. Might be worth booking at that price even if your still undecided

Yes, the Dinamo stadium is the national stadium. The Irish game last time was in the Lokomotiv stadium which is much smaller.
When I was last in the Dinamo stadium (about 2-3 years ago) only a small part had "proper" seating - the rest was just concrete slabs. They played rugby internationals and some local soccer matches there (they also have bike races around the perimiter track at half time!) but couldn't use it for internationals. A mate in Tbilisi yesterday confirmed it has been upgraded but Wikipedia is ahead of the game!
Its pretty centrally located - just a walk across the river from the main part of town.
Is it accross from the Marriot's street, because that's where I found it on Google Earth.

Christ, for the value of the tenner, I would have booked it, but just checking there now and it works out €97, thanks anyhow

Hi guys,
Havent been on for a few weeks. The DFA website says that visas are not required for georgia or Montenegro, but a friend says that they are required for Georgia. Can anyone clarify? Time to get these things sorted with only about 9 weeks i reckon to go.

You no longer need a visa for Georgia. Previously they issued them at the airport but that was abolished a few years ago.

Do we not have the same time as Greenwich Mean Time. Since when are we an hour ahead of them considering we are to the west of london.

Yeah, thats a mistake! Irish time is the same as GMT.
Thanks for the info mypost. Pretty much confirms that those of us leaving Georgia on the Sunday AM need not bother with a hotel room on the night of the match.

We're only on GMT from October to March, when the clocks change. The rest of the year, we're GMT+1. The time on this site always states it at the bottom of the page.

Got the application form in the post yesterday. There is a choice between €37 tickets and €22 tickets. I am going to go for the cheaper on this one I think.

There was a mention on the Tartan Army messageboard along the same lines that if you are only transiting it is not required however the couple subsequently had a lot of hassle at the airport as they didnt have a visa even though they didnt intend leaving the airport.
Check with Russian embassy and get it confirmed

Got mine today, any idea what the difference is between the 2 apart from E15, Upper level lower level, bare concrete unpainted, bare concrete painted. ??
Probably go E37, there is a running track so you need half decent seats otherwise you see damn all

And check both flights are using the same airport! There are two now operating in Moscow.
Were going with the €22 seats(concrete blocks),

I noticed that too SD.....we are(hoping) flying with Lufthansa and they are back on schedule, and they are not renowned for taking unnecessary risks

Well that's ballsed travel arrangements.......................match to be played at a neutral venue which as of yet has not been named! Georgia have to nominate a venue!
Another 2 flights to be added to the other 8.........................we'll spend more time in the air than on the ground!
I take it the meeting today didn't go too smoothly!

where are the likely spots ... (and hopefully air baltec will fly there from Riga!!)
RodgenotPodge
19/08/2008, 1:28 PM
My guess would be Istanbul; that wouldn't be too bad for access but its the Georgian's call. They won't be too concerned about accomodating their own fans - they don't travel, so it will be a financial decision. If we are very unlucky it could be Yerevan.
NeilMcD
19/08/2008, 1:42 PM
I reckon its either Baku, Yerevan, or Trabzon. All of them Air Baltic fly to

I can safely hopefully;) say that the match won't be in Yerevan as there can be no more than 1 international a day in 1 city, and the Turks are playing the Armenians on the 6th.
It does look like it's Trabzon or Baku.
Trabzon certainly looks like it can only be accessed with a stopover in Istanbul, and with Air Baltic flying to Baku, the Azeri option is probably the better option for us!

It's been reported from Oslo and Craven Cottage has been mooted.
Would suggest it's more likely to be continental europe

That's all it is, a rumour though the sources (more than one) would be fairly reliable but could also be drink talk;)
I wouldn't read too much into it at present

I wish, didn't travel, stuck in Clondalkin.
Hoping Pats make the next round of the UEFA Cup so keeping money for that just in case
Just in airport waiting for flight...
I was chatting to a lad who was staying in a hotel near the team, said he was talking to John Delaney who listed them as the possible venues.
Georgia are away to Italy on the Wedneesday so they looking for somewhere near. Delaney is pushing for London for economical reasons as it would be cheaper for Georgia to foot our travel bill for a game in London.
Could all be bull but that was the pre match pub talk yeserday
