Paddy Power. It's 10/1 with skybet. Good price but I don't think it will happen.

is anybody waiting on tickets from Ticketmaster? I booked two tickets (had to do it separately) for Arg-Ireland but only one has turned up. The seats are supposed to be next to each other...... rang ticketmaster and they have told me both tickets have not been printed yet. Despite my insistance that I had one in my hand.

What price Ireland not to get out of the group?

Rugby shirts are getting like soccer shirts: the next one has to be very different from the last one to make everyone go out and buy it. Design for the sake of design. Call me a traditionalist but what's wrong with a plain green jersey? At least our soccer kit has lost all the stupid spkeckles and patterns they had in the 90s (eircom logo excepted). I suppose that's what happens now all the skangers are on the rugby bandwagon :)

This is the best Ireland squad in terms of strength in depth (potentially) at the disposal of the IRFU before a World Cup competition. And given how difficult the group is we could go out before the knock-out stages. By the same token we could win the whole damn thing especially if the All-Blacks choke as they traditionally do in this competition. They will probably win their next one on home soil in the next tournament :D

Strettle has just broken his foot......

I'll have my fingers crossed for BOD this Saturday. I thought we'd wrap him in cotton wool but he needs game time. The Scots have lined up a strong looking side so our experimental line up will be in for a game that's for sure.

Agree BOD needs game time, last game was in Rome on Paddy Day so a considerable amount of down time.

Scotland have Jason White back and boy can that man tackle. He would rattle Jerry Collins.

NZ are 1/2 for the title. Can anyone really see past them honestly? I think I'll have a go with South Africa at 11/2 in Paddy Power. Bryan Habana should do well, 17 tries in 25 games

geez we were bad today. Boss was slow to the breakdown every time we had the ball.

Murphy had a good game and will do the world of good for his confidence but I have to say I was disappointed with our lot on thw whole.

Flea
11/08/2007, 7:08 PM
We weren't great but Murphy showed a lot, I think Murphy is a really good player, and gets over criticised at times. It showed today and in Argentina the last time that we are thin. Its good O'Connell and Bod didnt get injured anyways, I wonder what is the situation with Horgan? He injured his knee during the warm up.

The main thing was that they got a run out and bar Shaggy, no serious injuries to key players. Nothing can be read into the result. although Reddan is now the clear choice scrum-half (on haircut alone) and Quinny is being seen as cover for the second row. Murhy had a big game, he needed one.

Very glad O'Driscoll (M) isn't going. Poor lock and a worse backrower. If one of the second rows gets injured can fly Trevor Hogan or Leo Cullen in at short notice rather than waste a place on someone who isn't good enough.

Hard to disagree with the rest of the squad, Ferris edges Heaslip on his ability to play across the back row.

eh, a lot can be read into it, without ogara moreso we are very poor and will really struggle. Hope he doesnt get injured in any game or we are screwed.

We can't wrap them in cotton wool as they need game time. Injuries happen, its rare these days to

I would expect at least a handful to start.

I'd be in a depressed state if D'Arcy, BOD, POC or O'Gara get injured. We also have a warm up game out in France against one of the local teams......that better be the 2nd 15 that day!!!

We also have a warm up game out in France against one of the local teams......that better be the 2nd 15 that day!!!We all would, its clear our success depends on those key players staying fit. Our squad isn't as deep as we thought it was outside the backrow and back 3.

But it also depends on the bigname players playing well, and Drico's lack of rugby showed on Saturday. He needed that game.

I'd be very surprised if Ireland don't call up at least 2 replacements due to injuries during the tournament itself.

Its not the sport thats the problem here. Its quite a good game to wach in my view and Ireland have a very entertaining team to watch that could do something for once. Expressions like game time and down time and BOD do the game no favours in my view. Good game though.

I think not. :p

game time and down time are american terms that creep into some of the more methodical managers/coaches in all sports in europe. Far from rugby expressions

Nearly every person I know that as an O'name has it typed as his/her initials.

If BOD's parents had a bit of foresight they might have named him Sean, for all the things than can go wrong they surely do for him when it matters.
It's an ugly game at times.

whats our team? i didnt see any lineup there?!?!

btw agree with ye shaker, was the fella that hit him french by any chance? sounds like again just targeted odriscoll knowning he is our main man, and i am serious about that. Playing a club team 3 weeks before the world cup is a joke, of course they are going to just pound away and hit cheap shots, paying a club team from the same country as our pool opponents is just stupid.
