Slim pickings from the away shirts catalogue
We have an oldie shirt adorned with an orange sash, albeit balanced out with a green sash on the other side
The sashes my team wore.

I'll vote for the modern white shirt, the one with the green badge (ahem).

Strong evening voting there, at the end of which the Macedonia top beats the pinstripe effort 11-7. That's I think the biggest score we've had in one of these, so hopefully bodes well for the rest of the tournament!

Looking good for the Euro 2016 kit in the second match, but there's still all day to vote in that and give your views.

In the meantime, match 3. It's the current (as yet unworn) kit inspired by Italia 90, and it's up against another orangey effort, this time from 94-95 and only worn twice as far as I can see but with a 100% record - wins against Holland and Bolivia.

Only seeing one picture in this... I've tried Firefox, Bing and my android phone, logged-in and not.

By default (and Google), 2020-21 - nicely minimalist. The dark green logo works better imho.

{Edit - if I 'view page source' I can see the link for the other picture. Beyond my limited ken why it doesn't show.}

Weird that. Seems no-one else is having the problem - if you quote the post, can you take the url from there and open it in a new tab? That might work if others are having a similar problem too.

OK, I'll lash up round 4 first and then go back and count the score of round 2. Round 3 still open.

This one sees our first never-worn kit - it has the 3 logo on it, but shouldn't be marked down because of that; if we'd worn it, I'd have been able to find a photo without the logo. (To be honest, I think there's other reasons to mark it down, but let's see what people think!)

So we have the 2008 away kit against the 2016 third choice kit

So the Euro 2016 kit advanced 11-4. The 2018/19 kit goes into the end-of-round repechage to decide the worst kit or the one to be reprieved.

Currently 8-6 to the current away kit (and I'll make that 8-7, cos I kind of like it. There's plenty of all white efforts in this, and the splash of colour makes this one a bit interesting. I'll still vote for the Italia 90 kit when it comes along though!)

Token obscure smiley as a trial - :watermelon2:

Im beginning to realize Ive had more away kits than home kits over the years and again I like both.

2016 here for me, totally different and has some nice details on it. I still wear it fairly regularly

False assumption.
This was a problem in the other polls. In Mac OS, Firefox on occasion just displayed one photo out of the two, but in Safari (and Chrome) I got both photos.
Same issue happened in this poll.
I thought it might have something to do with the more secure settings selected by me in Firefox, but that's just a thought. Such browser problems are manageable and by my standards not worth investigating.
I don't know why I'm giving up the opportunity to call out EG on his ineptness as he surely deserves it but sometimes humanity has to be seen to conquer pettiness.

Round Four the kit we never wore. :loser:

Looks more like a training top, but a nice training top and the one Glenn is wearing just does nothing for me. We've really had lots of poor attempts. Incidentally, New Balance didn't do much for me outside of our dark green one either but their Porto jersey was slick last night.

Hm. It's a link from Twitter (pbc.twing.com); I wonder is that causing the problem. I think there's another twitter image later on; will see how that works. Is it the only problem pic so far?

It's been knocked out (for now) anyway - on a narrow scoreline of 8-7, the current (as yet unworn) kit advances.

Another tight battle in 2008 v 2016, and votes taken all day there. But on to tie 5 - a grey effort worn in the 2-2 draw in Wales in 2007 (historicalkits.co.uk says it's unclear why we even designed it as we already had an away kit at the time) up against a more traditional effort from 2014-15

Round 4 - 2008
I would consider the 2016 if there was no luminous as I like the Celtic knot work but alas, luminous colours make it dead to me

Round 5 - 2007 (though I’m not a huge fan of it. ‘Gun metal grey’ they called it if I remember correctly. Why they only used it once I don’t know).

The other one just looks like a Penney’s short sleeved shirt with a few badges ironed on to it

geysir

Nr 5. I don't mind the 2007 shirt (though not with the grey shorts). Another plus is that something very different was tried with the overall design and it has effect, in contrast to the slide rule conservative design of the white shirt. A plus for the white is the collar, still my vote goes to the grey one.

It's the only one so far. Could be a Twitter thing alright - I've noticed it on a few other threads, but none quite as important as this one.

On to voting...
2008 gets my vote (the other one looks like a knock-off that's just different enough not to infringe copyright, but couldn't be taken seriously as a real kit).

And... closer call here. The grey is good but I like the collar in 2014-15. So... 2014-15. But maybe I'm swayed by the historical aspect of an Irish player celebrating a goal.

Another close-run thing, but it's 7-5 to the 2008 kit as the bell goes, so it's through to the last 16.

The "we scored a goal" kit is leading the way in match 5, but still time for that to change. And in the meantime, onwards with bout 6, and a possible heavy-hitter. We've the away version of foot.ie's best home kit - the Italia 90 kit - up against the 2004 jersey (odd angle to show off the flashes a bit better)

The 2004 is not bad and looks really cool on Clinton, therefore it gets my vote.

That picture would be from these moments in the friendly v Holland, Robbie's goal which went far in our best ever goal competition.

its the full kit, not just the shirt?

Eminence Grise

I like both of these. Almost equally. But looking at the whole kit not just the jersey, the 1990 shorts were too shiny and cheap for an otherwise classic jersey, and look like a mismatch. The 2004 kit looks like both were designed to go together. So, by a whisker (and VAR could change this in the next round!) 2004.

I've always left it to everyone to decide exactly what they're voting in these, but certainly the thread title (and my intention) is the kit, not just the shirt. I think the hooped 2012 socks came in for some criticism in the home kit competition for example.

The 2014-15 kit beats the grey effort 8-4 and advances to the last 16.

Very little between Italia 90 and the 2004 kit - votes taken till the evening.

And your Thursday morning battle is between two of the plainer (or more classic?) kits in the list; the 2002 WCQ kit and the 2018 WCQ kit.
