I see mccauley got another for Pat's tonight 2 in 2 delighted for him strange how cut out of the Irish scene he has been. Parrott moving to seniors might give him a sniff at 21s

If he's playing well in the LOI Kenny will give him a look in - I suspect Ronan Hale moved to Pats for the same reason. With the rate the other 21s strikers are developing, there'll be chances there for other players.

With Carr gone now Charles he would have been a great addition for rovers and ye would have given him goal chances galore . That environment would have been demanding of him and would have progressed him . I know drennan had lots of difficulties but his conditioning looks poor hope that is not a sign of a lack of professionalism at Pat's.

Potter gives his insight into Connolly. Reaffirming what we already read between the lines: if he impresses in the next couple of weeks, he’ll be in squad/on bench this season, with the loan option still on the cards until sept 2

Rovers were in contact with him but he presumably chose Pats because there was a quicker route to first-team football, and that seems to be born out.

Curious one here: Harry Charsley played for Everton U23s, in spite of being released earlier this summer: https://www.premierleague.com/match/50615/premier-league-2/2019-20/wolves-v-everton - apparently Everton are allowing him to stay at the club while he recovers from injury and looks for his next move: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/player-released-everton-playing-u23s-16775218

Bad day for Oisin McEntee yesterday - scored an own goal and got sent off against West Ham - Conor Coventry captained the Hammers while Daniel Jinadu and Anthony Scully were on the bench: https://www.premierleague.com/match/50480/premier-league-2/2019-20/newcastle-v-west-ham

Kelleher back playing with Pool under 23s, conceded 3 vs Chelsea. Goal for Reghba for Leicester. Expected irish complement for Southampton

Luca Connell and Barry Coffey were in the Celtic Colts side that lost to Clyde in the City of Glasgow Cup: http://www.celticfc.net/news/16677
Interesting point from the report - Armstrong Okoflex was also in the side, and the report describes him as follows

Luca Connell did well to fashion some space on the edge of the Clyde area, but his effort on 22 minutes was well saved. And Connell turned provider just before the break to set up Armstrong Oko-Flex, but the Irishman’s net-bound shot was blocked by the Clyde defence.

PL2 games over halfway through. Another goal for Connolly vs Rehgba’s Leicester. Aaron must be really bored at this stage. McEneff on bench for Arsenal playing Charsleys Everton. OConnor looks to be back playing RB for United. Bazuna dropped for Man City. Coventry doing well for Hammers.

Wilson returns at full back for city.
Parrott might still be injured from last week. Spurs aren't playing until Sunday afternoon, so we won't know more until then.

And no sign of Parrott for Spurs...

Already looked into it. Reportedly not recovered from dead leg. Not a sign of being in match day squad vs Newcastle. Spurs are overloaded with options at the moment, including Ali and Moura who are desperate for game time.

on another note, Mick sent the assistant to the spurs u23 game in case Troy would play. I’m sure with some communication they would have found out it was a waste of resources. Furthermore, why do the management team have to make a song and dance every time someone goes to watch an Irish player. Just get the job done, no need for all the hand waving Mick. We know you’re great

If he wasn't, or there was no reports that he wasn't, then people would be complaining that he's not watching players. Damned if you do, damned if you don't

All in moderation!! He seems to be going off the wall a bit with the reporting at the moment. Some reporting is important for sure but he’s def overdoing it!

A few different inferences that Troy is on the bench today.

He is with the team anyway: https://twitter.com/thespursweb/status/1165607734391316480?s=19

And Robbie Keane posted a photo from the dressing room which shows a Parrott jersey beside Kane's: https://twitter.com/djstevemcgrath/status/1165611413877993472?s=19

As an aside, Nathan Murphy of Newstalk announced Parrott wasn't in the squad about ten minutes before the matchday squad was posted online by Spurs' social media team. I thought there was an embargo on all journalists until the club itself announces the team? Maybe it only applies to players in the team, not players ommitted?

Irish qualified Conor Noss was on the bench for Borussia Monchengladbach II yesterday against Lippstadt.
Today, he scored the only goal for the U19 side in their 1-1 draw with Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Going by the translation of the game report on the official site - https://www.borussia.de/de/aktuelles-termine/news/borussia-news/news-detailansicht.html - it seems it was from a rebound

the team dominated the game in the early stages and logically in the 23rd Minute also went 1-0 lead. After a nice attack on the right side failed Jonas Pfalz initially still on the opposing keeper, the rebound pressed Conor Noß over the line.
This was his second goal in two games for the U19 team, after this goal midweek

An embargo has no force other than a request to defer publication to a time that suits the club - a journalist can ignore it if they want. Obviously, they run the risk of not getting further press releases, or having the PR person going full Malcolm Tucker on them if they do, but embargoes are really over-used. I've seen them used for the most ridiculous reasons on press releases.

Does the absence of Ofolabi mean he will be going straight into the first team squad? Or does it mean he was left out to allow Leigh Griffiths some extra game time?

Couple of other developments: Will Smallbone (now has a tricolour beside his name on Prem League site!) scored one of Southampton's goals in their 4-2 defeat to Liverpool. O'Driscoll and Ledwidge also played but Thomas O'Connor was not in the squad. Meanwhile Kelleher played for Liverpool - guess it's important to keep him active - I'm getting worried he'll get stuck in back-up limbo - his peer Kamil Grabara is playing regularly for Huddersfield now: https://www.premierleague.com/match/50621/premier-league-2/2019-20/southampton-v-liverpool

Ethan Varian has been moved up to U23 level for Stoke off the back of his recent goalscoring form, making a 12-minute cameo against Fulham: https://www.premierleague.com/match/50489/premier-league-2/2019-20/stoke-v-fulham

could be, could be as simple that he's not match fit yet - he hasn't played since the toulon tournament.

What about Connell, he might be in a weird Limbo between squads there?

Caoimhin Kelleher was in goals for Liverpool U23s last night, against Southampton U23 with Aaron O'Driscoll, Kameron Ledwidge and Will Smallbone in the Saints' starting XI. Smallbone scored Southampton's first in a 4-2 loss.
The full game was streamed live, and is available on Southampton's youtube page

Smallbone's goal is on 20:50, maybe a bit lucky that a loose ball falls to him on the edge of the area.
This is all well and good, but it more than likely means that none of the Southampton players will feature against Fulham tonight in the league cup. You'd expect Thomas O'Connor and Will Ferry to be involved.

looks like it, he hasn't travelled with the senior team to Greece for their game against AIK on Thursday, and I can't find anything about an injury, so I don't know why he was excluded from the cup game

And what’s Ryan Johansson’s plan for the year? He’s not in their A or B squad, and has only come on as second half sub for their under 19s. No word of a loan move. So presumably he continues with their under 19s? Hardly inspires confidence in his prospects

Jordan McEneff started for Arsenal U21s last night in the Football League Trophy against Northampton, and even more remarkably, U16 cap Mazeed Ogungbo came off the bench for the last few minutes.
Hadn't heard of Ogungbo before this, but he seems to be highly thought of at Arsenal: https://arseblog.news/2018/12/schoolboy-mazeed-ogungbo-impressing-for-arsenal/

Amazing the difference a year (or even a few months) makes - last season if we saw certain players on an U23 teamsheet and scoring, we were thinking "that's great progress that lad is making". Now if they show up on a Friday night, the reaction is "damn, I guess he won't be in the first team this week". With that in mind, there was no Connolly, Knight or Parrott in their respective teams tonight:crossed:

Idah, on the other hand, has been sent back to the U23s and was credited with an assist: https://www.premierleague.com/match/50492/premier-league-2/2019-20/norwich-v-middlesbrough

There were a couple of Irish scorers, however

Anthony Scully scored for West Ham in their draw with Man United. Coventry and O'Connor both played: https://www.premierleague.com/match/50491/premier-league-2/2019-20/man-utd-v-west-ham

Yassine En-Neyah scored a late penalty in Forest's 4-1 win over Cardiff: https://twitter.com/NFFCAcademy/status/1167525857155604480

Harry Charsley seems to be hanging on to his underage career for dear life - got a goal in Everton's 8-2 thrashing of Southampton, with Aaron O'Driscoll and Kameron Ledwidge being on the wrong end of it. 17-year-old Roland Idowu got promoted to Southampton's U23s and played the last 15 minutes: https://www.premierleague.com/match/50625/premier-league-2/2019-20/everton-v-southampton

Tyriek Wright was credited with an assist for Villa against Sunderland: https://www.premierleague.com/match/50493/premier-league-2/2019-20/sunderland-v-aston-villa
