McNamara played well, without doing anything particularly special. Got up and down the right hand side all game and looked solid at the back.
Awful game of football though.

Connor Ronan gone on loan to Grasshopper Zurich in the Swiss second division. Obviously a well known club but going through a slump at the moment. Possibly he might have hoped for a better loan move or, to be honest, a permanent transfer away from Wolves at this stage.

Looks like same owners of wolves and Grasshopper Zürich, explains the connection https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.scmp.com/sport/football/article/3079529/grasshoppers-zurich-sold-hong-kong-company-owned-wolves-owners-wife
They just missed out on promotion last year and clearly have ambition to return to top of Swiss super league so not the worst move. At least he should be guaranteed regular football, still young

Danny McNamara with two more excellent performances in the last week for St. Johnstone, has really started well on his loan spell there. I don't think the supporters there were expecting a huge amount but he has been consistently one of their best players since the season started. Probably a strong argument in favour of starting him at right back for the Under 21s unless Lee O'Connor starts particularly well at Tranmere. McNamara playing in a better league this season than O'Connor I would say.
Probably also worth noting that St Johnstone's star player these days, Ali McCann, is eligible for us as his dad is from County Armagh. Only 20 years old, obviously our Under 21 midfield is stacked but he's a player I would expect to go on and have a good career at a higher level. He has played a lot of first team football at a relatively young age in Scotland, similar to James McCarthy years ago at Hamilton. His younger brother broke in to the first team at Dunfermline at 18 years old as well.

Had to look him up. I see he's with NI. I would assume he's good enough for Scotland based on his club appearances.

Northern father, English mother, born in Scotland but has represented his father's country underage and his brother Lewis also. So, eligible certainly but how likely is another thing.
