Official attendance given by Drogheda for their game was 1,000. 840 + 160 guests and ST holders.
Bray are the only ones left to give any official attendance for the first two weeks.
Can't help feel that a round 1000 is a bit ... how to phrase ..... coincidental . But hey an official figure is better than no figure.
Weather was aweful and surely put some off - hopefully a big jump in numbers for the Cork game.

Extratime were given 1,020.
Bray have come up with a figure of 1,117, and I've no idea where they were hiding in the ground.

We got less people in the door than Wexford and athlone. I genuinely fear for our future
was there any from Cobh up at all?

Just looking at attendances here, seems rugby fairly hit the league hard on Friday night. Couple of really brutal attendances for so early in the season.
Cabinteely dropped almost 500 what happened there - I know they don't normally get that crowd but still strange

Cabo are in the heart of Rugby land they play on a Rugby pitch in Blackrock's ground.
If anybody was going to struggle it would be them.

Cabo crowds are largely made up anyway. They give away a tonne of freebies which they're not supposed to count, and when they give away less the crowd goes down.

Same place as usual standing up the back out of the rain. I'm starting to think Tallaght has turneed into a rain forest climate. To many Christmas trees planted on the dublin mountains.

It turns out that people don't like get wet while watching games in the rain. I wonder what the club can do about this. It is on the tip of my tongue.

if this continues we wont have the numbers for away matches to run a bus. I am glad yet again I didnt make it. Shels will be my first home game but knowing our form we will do nothing. What has gone wrong for us at home? Was the atmosphere dead again?

Put a roof on Oriel and include the away end : ) with the euro millions
I think a new away end would work better behind the goal close to where the away fans are now, a new terrace and roofed would be perfect. A similar structure behind the other goal for home fans, possibly with seating would give the old girl a huge lift. I think to be fair, the owners are looking at plans to develop a lot of areas, but the first priority had to be the pitch.

CCS is a morgue. It's a chore going to watch home games, even the rare time we play well it's still not enjoyable with the sh1te atmosphere.

Agree with relocating but it should be seated. All grounds should have seats for away fans if we are going to encourage families.

Interesting article about a europe-wide study of football attendances. It states that our league actually isn't under-supported based on most metrics such as population, league quality etc.
Seems to correlate with another similar report from a few years ago - http://extratime.ie/newsdesk/articles/14182/the-hidden-world-of-airtricity-league-attendances/

problem is youve a road going down to the big shed thing at one end dont you, so either that road would have to be moved or the stand would have to go over it

The fly in the ointment with that is the large number of Irish people who actively follow English and Scottish teams, buy their merchandise, and travel to attend their games.
So Ireland should be vastly over-performing in terms of how its league does. Instead, we just boost the stats for British football teams instead. Viva 1916.

The City - Dundalk game this weekend is looking like it could be another sell out. The terriblle thing about the golden years is that you rarely realise you are in the golden years while they are happening. We may not have won enough trophies, and our football hasn't always been flowing, but John Caulfield has given us some great days and nights following City in the past 3 and a bit seasons. This will be the third sell out game I think in as many seasons after none in a decade.
problem is youve a road going down to the big shed thing at one end dont you, so either that road would have to be moved or the stand would have to go over it
There would still be space to build a modest size stand behind the goals near the away end. A temporary stand was in place there twice previously, 2014 EA Sports Cup final v Rovers, and the final league game v Cork that same season.
