Quality First Division squad being put together by Waterford. Looking like another one team runaway with the division season. 7 teams with nothing to play for.

Would expect us to be right up there with them if we make the signings we're rumoured to be making, in addition to those we have already.

Dave Mulcahy also announced as signed for Waterford FC. A good experienced player back for another spell with the Blues.

Definitely Waterford and Longford looking like they're spending it out for the sole promotion spot. Cobh, UCD, Wexford all losing players, Shels, Cabinteely and Athlone won't have any budgets to strengthen enough.

Rubbish.

In fairness to Foran he was Dundalk's Player of the Year the only season he spent at Oriel............... that was 2012 though!

Lol who bought Waterford the Arabs?
Huge investment going in down there fair play as a Limerick fan been a midtable first division team for years with no money I know the feeling.
Great buzz then when you start signing huge quality of players .

Buts it's a serious question who bought them?

Jamie McGrath off to Dundalk from Pats according to reports. Haven't seen much of him myself but I know he's highly rated and has played for Ireland u19s etc.

He's a lovely footballer.

What's with the exodus at Pat's? I thought holding on to Fagan would be the tricky bit, but having done that they seem to be losing a lot of their talent.

No European football. Blew the budget on fagan. Time will tell if that was smart or not.

You might be right.

Pats losing out to Drogheda for Killian Brennan is a surprise.

Only 2 of any 'talent' to leave are Hoare and McGrath and they've both gone to Dundalk.

Everyone else who left wasn't in demand...

Brennan is an enigma, I could never figure out why he didn't put it in at Rovers, his attitude was poor to the point they paid him to leave and played kids instead..
and I was in favour of him when he signed , I don't bother with the tribal stuff good player is a good player etc I just don't get it.....

If he decides he wants to play for Drogs he might do well but I'd be prepared to bet he has 3 good matches next season..

Word on the street at least in Talafornia is that Vemmelund is a done deal for you boys from Derry.

It will be interesting to see how Alex O'Hanlon gets on at St. Pats. He could be a very good signing.

I've always like Kurtis Byrne. Maddenly inconsistent though.

I dunno about that as there is a vacant Lily the Panda suit to fill! What is a design engineer anyway? Maybe Dave McMillan and herself could spruce up the away section - self dispensing Tayto and minerals and all for Longfords cup visit....

I think that it is good that Dundalk are taking the wife into consideration when signing a player, the more successful English league managers; Revie, Clough even Ferguson early in his career always did this. In the rich leagues, with so much money involved and agents/agencies, this is not necessary anymore.

The lad who was at loan at Pats from Everton last Autumn, is he gone back over for good?

not sure what his situation is , has potential but tends to drift in and out of games he is young so its still early days in his career.

I reckon the player demanded this from Dundalk, as he did with Derry. She was actually sorted out with a job by the club and all, but his wages weren't high enough, apparently.
Previously none of ourselves, Cork, Shamrock Rovers or Dundalk were offering enough. Wonder what Dundalk have upped their offer to.

Yeah, he's a good keeper but he was likely to be behind O'Malley so an expensive back up

Maybe it was a take it or leave it and the leveraging only went so far and could yet turn up at either club! Sounds like the way Derek Foran was after his one decent season wiith us and was talking like an international call-up was imminent when n the move!

McMillan is a big re-signing. He is not the perfect striker, but he suits our style of play perfectly.

When he doesn't play, Dundalk are a much diminished side.

We need to add some width. If that can be done, I think we'll be competitive.

You're going for 4 in a row... You'd want to be a bit more than competitive I think!

Well they did lose 3 very important players as opposed to only one in each of the previous 2 seasons. Losing players like the ones they have lost this year would impact any team, but they have made a few good signings so I still see them being right up there as one of the favourite's.

We are Evs Favs in the bookies. White Horse is just playing down expectations.

Once the rest of the signings are confirmed we have a strong squad with the best starting XI IMO
