Aaron Drinan from Cork City to Waterford. 18 month deal. Very good signing. Only 19 but one of the best strikers around, at underage level anyway. Hope it works out well for him

Lee Grace is an excellent signing by Shamrock Rovers. Galway United basically waving the white flag...

Unless Rovers have offered Galway a record breaking fee plus some decent players in exchange or on loan then it's complete insanity to sell off one of your best performers with 9 games left in relegation dog-fight. Whatever profit Galway have made will be wiped in multiples when you're back in the First Division next season

Terrible to loose Grace, especially to another LoI club, but what choice club had really? He was going to go for nothing in 3 months time anyway, so at least we are getting some money for him. Wish him well as he has been a joy to watch during his short spell here. While he is a big improvement on what Shamrock's have, there are faults in his game but saying that there are no reasons why he can't improve further and then he be off to a higher level league.
Sad to see Vennie Faherty leave as well. Seems there might have been a falling out with the manager, as he hasn't been playing him at all in recent games.

Shortsighted. He was one of your best hopes at staving off relegation.

Rovers don't have the dundalk euro millions the conspiracy theory are nearly always wrong...he just wants to put himself in a better shop window and a club more likely to win some things

He did well for Bray when he got in at left full but had limited opportunities. I think he had a spell with Shelbourne as well. Will do well for Longford.

Can't say as I know anything about the first two, and other than the post above I know nothing of Kehoe. But it's not like we have anything to lose, may as well experiment a bit.

Interviewed Fenn after SHELS game and asked him if Bray is likely to see more minutes given the errors Skinner has made of late and Fenn seemed to imply that perhaps the effort on the training ground was why Skinner was ahead of Brady. Not putting words in his mouth but that's certainly what I took from his comments anyway, and it's a situation Town fans have said is the most likely reason he's not playing ahead of that clown Skinner

We also have a 3rd keeper, some fagan chap but seen him play in pre season he was awful and even when he's doing pre match warm ups he looks like a clamber

You would think we were leaking goals all season with the way you go on about Skinner on here and your podcast. That 'clown' has kept 9 clean sheets in 22 games, so not a bad return.

That end of the pitch is not the reason why we're seeing out the season playing dead rubber matches. Next time, how about asking Fenn what's he's doing to improve our goals scored return?

I'd imagine the signing of 2 wingers and a striker (Simon) is his answer to that. Skinner had a good start to the season and I was quick to point that out on here at the time but in the last 2 months or so it's become a comedy show watching him every week trying to kick the ball.

Not a transfer per se but Stephen Kenny's signed a contract extension today to the end of the 2020 season, that'd take him to 7 years at Dundalk if he sees it out which is mad in our league, not that you'll find any Dundalk fans complaining!

8 years if he stays the full term, joined in Nov/Dec 2012, first season was 2013, not a bad first 5 years. 2-1-1-1-2?

Always remember - Like political careers managerial careers in sport more often than not end in failure.... time will tell .

Ps- if you fail to win the FAI cup and finish second, genuine question how will you guys rate this season?

(A) failure as with the resources available should of brought in adequate replacements and won the 4 in a row

(B) Too many players have dropped off from 110% effort to 90% - but that's to be expected as that's by and large typical of most LOI players.

(C) Cork are better but one season wondersand Caulfield won't be able to handle pressure of being successful

(D) Ad your own excuse

Next season is shaping up to be very interesting already. Cork already showing signs of missing Maguire, so a lot will depend on how they replace him, then there's the "second season syndrome." Dundalk will of course hope to come back strongly, and no doubt Derry and Rovers will hope to improve. All of this against the backdrop of a ten team league, which I'm not a fan of, but it does mean things should be ultra competitive. Even this season you can see that apart from Drogheda no one is getting cut adrift and most teams are capable of getting good results here and there.

Fair questions, responses in bold.

The same will apply to almost every club though, the only exception is when a manager moves for a better position. Time will tell ? Maybe but even if Kenny fails to win another title with Dundalk, he has already won the same league titles as McLaughlin did with Dundalk (3) during the period 1974-83. I would think he has a good chance of achieving more silverware though.

Ps- if you fail to win the FAI cup and finish second, genuine question how will you guys rate this season?

The objective was to win the league, so already not achieving that is a disappointment, winning the cup will be a good achievement given the margin Cork will win the league by, and coming second will be the minimum expectation, but both are obviously not guaranteed.

(A) failure as with the resources available should of brought in adequate replacements and won the 4 in a row

Possibly, replacements took too long to settle in and were obviously not the same standard as the top 3 who left. Most are under 23 though so they should improve next year, the current squad only had 4-5 weeks off before pre season, but unlike others, I don't consider that to be an excuse.

(B) Too many players have dropped off from 110% effort to 90% - but that's to be expected as that's by and large typical of most LOI players.

I'm not sure about that, I think the home loss to Bray was the turning point, at that stage Dundalk had simply lost too many games and Cork were pulling too far ahead.

(C) Cork are better but one season wonders and Caulfield won't be able to handle pressure of being successful.

Cork will be absolute deserving champions, they have added very good players each year while coming 2nd for 3 years, and only lost players when the league was virtually won, in the same period Dundalk lost their best player(s) at the end of each of the 3 year title winning seasons. It will be interesting next year, Cork going for 2 in row, Dundalk looking for their 4th title in 5 years.

(D) Ad your own excuse

Nothing more to add, Cork were the far better side this year, as already stated, they will be deserving champions. Things should be a lot different next year, as Tony D has suggested above, and I'd agree with this.
