Only two teams from Desmond League going into the open round?

WhoShotJR

not really fair, I see the district league are getting seven through and alot of other leagues have 5-6 going through, only 3 or so leagues with 3 or less

Men is there any rule against posting a link to a club fundraising competition?

Langerdan spotted from your posts your with Kilcornan.

You must all be chuffed at Ross Mann getting 20 minutes and a cap vs the Dutch during the week.

Did he ever play Juniors for yourselves before he hit into Limerick F.C.

It must be a credit for the effort put in by the young lad.

The number of teams that go to out of town stages is defined by the number of teams that entered. As only 20 entered the Desmond area they only get 2 places. Time was when every team regardless of A or B entered and Desmond area would have 4 or 5 teams through. There are currently 43 teams in the league but only 20 entered the MJC. Its probably down to finances nowadays but it is a shame all the same

runninglate it was great to see him get the run out - we've a few pics and stuff up on our website www.kilcornan.com in the soccer section, if anyone happened to be interested in our Last Man Standing competition starting this Saturday they'd also find details about that there :)

He did play junior for us two seasons ago - he started out with our B's and played the majority of games that season I'd say, played a few for the A's that year too but got the call into Limerick u19's that summer - He's been doing well inside since and got a good few games with the senior's this season

Lads, been abroad/missing games the last month, skimmed over the posts and read about some sort of implosion at NCW whatever happened. I thought their B team were in our division (2) at the start of August, were they replaced by someone else or what happened?

As for the in's and out's of the NCW debacle, a few have danced around the reasons without anyone actually explaining, seems to have been a massive fallout between players, management, board.
What happened in Division 2 was NCWB were pulled, Ballysteen as the 2nd team relegated were asked if they wanted to come back up - they said no as they'd lost a good few to the Askeaton revolution and were happy enough in Division 3 - Knockaderry, the other relegated team were then asked if they wanted to come up and they accepted so the full compliment of 10 teams was maintained in the division.

Weird, they weren't half bad for a 'B' team, close to winning it last year. Cheers.

Ya their B's were a solid team but there has been a modern day flight of the earls up in the Desmesne - bit further back on the thread there was a list of basically the whole A first team joining NCW Rovers, Broadford, Shannonside, Rathkeale and the likes - They were struggling to field an A team not to mind a B's after that so the pulling of the B's was little to do with performance

New management after taking over Newcastle West i've heard, think it's the same management as there 'B' team from last season.
Apparently they are signing back the majority of the players who left at the start of the season.
It will be interesting to see how they get on in there next game... provided they have all been allowed to transfer back!

I heard the same as sexyfootball. Heard last weekend that they have a new manager in newcastle west. Didnt hear about players rejoining them though. Hopefully they get some players back and Get back on track. From a team that was winning desmond cups and leagues to be getting hammered is not right. Something has to be up back there. Other news was there anyone at the broadford vs castleisland game? heard broadford were unlucky losing on penos. Shannonside beating ballingarry 2-1 in the Fai junior

Good to see Kildimo entering a B team for the coming season, gives the younger players a chance to develop at this level.......The A team has had an ok start to the season but I hear that players have returned from J1s and work commitments so they should certainly get stronger. Not sure about Pallaskenrys chances this year, bribing players with money is wrong and should not be seen in the game....Also Rathkeale looking very strong so far!!!

Kildimo won't be long finding out where they are at Sunday with a home game to Glin in Munster Junior.

In terms of the Pallaskenry thing, i wouldnt believe hat you are hearing, not something i would see pallaskenry getting involved in, they are around a long time and would be mainly made up of pallaskenry based players.I doubt there is players coming in from all over limerick to play with them as stated earlier in the year.

Rathkeale looking strong or havent come up against stong oppistion as of yet, the premier has had some pretty crazy result thus far. Good to see Declan Nash back out with them.

Anyone get the lowdown on the ins and outs from Newcastle, how many players have they signed back.

I have been at a lot of Pallaskenry and kildimo matches. I must say from what I saw Pallaskenry are the better team.but we will see at the end of the season.as for them paying player's. That's only all talk.they got 2 good player's from kildimo and because they got them.some people started saying they must have got something. I think kildimo and Pallaskenry should join together like they did with the gaa.kildimo have no facilities and Pallaskenry have a fine set up

fanaticfan
20/09/2014, 5:15 PM
Ya I agree that They shud join together Only if they are short numbers to make a team. Kildimos facilities are nothing but a disgrace

limerick4liam
20/09/2014, 7:57 PM
Kildimo will never join with Pallaskenry because we don't pride ourselves on facilities but just putting 11 men on a field to do the job......anyone who worries about facilities is looking for escuses for one reason or another......So for you Old Man, Pallaskenry are the better team, well sadly the table doesn't matter....and it wont either at the end of the season.

Big win for Newcastle over St. Itas... anyone at the game?
Couple of 'out of town' ties in the FAI this weekend too, hopefully all the Desmond League sides progress. It's always nice to see last 64 32 etc in the fixtures in the Observer.

Was chatting to a ncw player out on sunday night and he said few of the goals were scored by players that rejoined them. He also said that ncw should have scored more but ncw hit the woodwork three or four times and few good saves by the st itas keeper

sexyfootball
23/09/2014, 3:19 PM
Sound! Some turn around from them...would St Itas have been missing a few due to hurling? Looks like Newcastle West are back! Their game against Carrig Celtic this weekend will tell a lot.

Yes sexyfootball, it was a good result for Askeaton but it was an awful game, really terrible to watch. Glin wern't too bothered about it anyway and a few of their key players were missing. I think it's the 5th round that's the open draw, we will be lucky to have 1 or 2 teams get that far.

Thats a big win for killeaney, ncw were obviously unlucky but looks like ders a turn around der so well done to sll involved.i went to c rovers new grounds today, wat a set up, also wat a game of ball served up by both teams, excellent stuff; fast attacking football an also some brave an solid challenges by both defences, taut da ref done v well to let it flow except da soft pen for da home side imo, also i c abbey had a physio wit dem, is this a new ting for desmond lge??well done to both teams on der fitness levels

old man

Went and watched kildimo today. They won 3 - 0. Went and watched the Pallaskenry game it finished 0-0.the only difference was the ref.liam o connor was over the Pallaskenry game and by god he is a joke. Pallaskenry twice had a goal ruled out.he said the ball wasn't over the line. Pallaskenry had a stone wall penalty turned down and to top it off , he sent off a Pallaskenry player for receiving a punch from a st.itas player.both player's did get sent off.but why the Pallaskenry player only liam knows.i have seen liam ref for the last 10-15 years and its worse his getting. He should not be left ref anymore. He makes the game all about him.he is an absolute joke.this league needs new reffs.it can not allow liam o connor to reff anymore

runinglate
05/10/2014, 5:32 PM
Old Man thread carefully as to what you say about the refs, without them we have no league. I personally always found liam to be a good ref, but haven't had him in awhile.

And if they see your comments here, they will do Pallaskenry no favours in future a matches.

In other games today, great result for Abbeyfeale. I didn't see that coming.
