A surprise in Desmond Cup as Glin B beat Pallaskenry on penalties.

Pallaskenry have been on a bad run lately. Lots of injuries and players working away. I think only for itas being so bad that they would be in a relegation battle. Heard glin b were the better team last Sunday.

Hope Abbey get past Nenagh Sunday, be great to have two Desmond teams in the Quarter finals of MJC. I think they can win be tough travelling but the team they have this season its achievable

It would be great to see a second side in the MJC quarters but it will be tough for them and home advantage might be decisive.

How did abbeyfeale get on
Have It
09/03/2015, 1:35 AM
3 nil down when I left with few mins left. Gave a good account first half but when the second goal went in early second half that was that. Abbey could have had an early pen which would have changed the whole game but ultimately boro were the better side as the game wore on

Was at the Shannonside Rovers match. Thought Shannonside were the better team overall and the score did not reflect the match.

I'd agree that the score didn't reflect the match, there wasn't much between the sides with very few chances created by both teams.
The difference was that Rovers took two chances created from quick closing down.

Big game the weekend for Ballingarry. You have to say Tralee Dynamos will be strong favourites to progress. But home advantage will help Ballingarry.

That is the beauty of cup competitions, anything can happen, home advantage can be a big help. I still believe that Tralee Dynamos will just be too good on the day, they have alot of league of ireland experience in their team and their current form is good. Should make a good football game to watch

Tralee 2-0 up at half time in Ballingarry. Derek O' Brien showing his quality with a great goal just before the break.

It's all about the domestic action now... in fairness great for the league to have TWO teams in the last 8 in Munster! Hopefully same again next season!
Desmond Cup this weekend... Abbey & Rathkeale (AGAIN)! They must be sick of the sight of each other!
Any other results from the weekend?
Anyone at the Rathkeale V Abbey game?

Thanks, that is two big results for killeaney and abbey, I had heard killeaney had a couple of great young players this yr but still a bit of shock?? Rovers goin well again an goin by table still v much in title race, I thought ratkeale might turn abbey over the wknd, is that four times abbey beat ratkeale so this yr?? That would never happen when I was playing..

You can say broadford are out of the title race now after that defeat. Big game for them this weekend against Rovers. I said it months ago that abbeyfeale will clean up this year and the league is certainly there's to throw away. They will win the Desmond cup also

Have to agree with Fanaticfan, Abbeys to lose now. Very organised team this year. they would be favourites for the Desmond Cup also, but Broadford, Rovers, Ballingarry and Carrig all still left in it so to early to tell yet. Be nice to see a division 1 team to win it. Rathkeale B and Glin doing well at the moment

Abbeyfeale are in pole position alright, as was said already it's their league to throw away now.
It's up to Broadford, Rathkeale & Rovers to try and keep the pressure on them.
On Rathkeale what's happened there, seem to be gone off the boil completly...
Huge win for Killeaney Sunday, it's turning into a right dog fight at the bottom... Athea hanging in there, Killeaney, Newcastle West & Carrig all separated by 1 point!! Interesting at both ends of the table.

Between the footballers playing for limerick and not playing for rathkeale. They are a huge loss. Dropped points last few games against shannonside, broadford, Newcastle and ballingarry. Lost to abbeyfeale 2 or 3times also
I cant see Carrig or Ballingarry winning the Desmond cup this year. Between abbey broadford and rover I think with abbey winning it
