Some implosion from Kildimo in fairness from being miles clear to not even getting promoted?!
You at the game fanatic?! Conditions as bad as ever over there - Rockhill much the better in the first half but sat back in the 2nd - lucky one or two balls didnt drop against them but deserved the win overall

ya was at it alright langerdan007.conditions were terrible,id say few teams in the premier division will be happy kildimo arent promoted with the facilities kildimo have. athea have great pitch and dressing rooms so deserve to be in the premier next year.. playoff for the title next week in clounreask i think

Your right I doubt many tears will be shed at them missing out - you'd have to have a shower after standing over there today never mind playing - the playoff should be interesting both can go for it as promotion is assured - Rockhill had a bit of a shuffle today as well the two boys up front arent their usual front men and their regular goalie was on the line - they run all over you in midfield though

Unreal, Kildimo had 34/36 possible points after 12 games and dont even get up....great to see Athea up, great facilities and sound crowd too. Rockhill is a trek but I think they have dressingrooms now could somebody confirm?
Kildimos dressingroom is a ditch by a narrow road as you listen to the hometeam studs clob-e-de-clob up the road from the parochial hall

kildimo were miles ahead at one stage but when you get only 4 points out of your last 15points in the league you dont deserve to go up.fair play to both teams for coming back into it and getting promoted. ya rockhill have dressing rooms all right.they play in the school pitch which have dressing rooms..how did ye get on this morning draper

Ever since they signed the new striker from limerick league they went backwards.. Can't have been easy see a lad walk onto the team after all the hard work was done before Xmas by others

who was the player they signed from the limerick league and what team did he sign from?

Great to see athea in prem, the last time i played there it was an awful pitch with a corner in it that you would get lost in but by all accounts things have improved so congrats on all accounts.

As I understand he's been around Kildimo a long time but lives away

Only heard today about abbeys objection against ratkeale, can some one just clarify if abbeyfeale objected over loosing to a very much depleted ratkeale team who played a b player or 2,not a lge of ireland player but a b player,if true its very petty and i kno rules are rules but if ur beat on pitch dat shud be it especially in the case of a B player playing. one time the A team always had choice of club players once they were not cup tied and former chairman said it was a grey area a number of seasons by the club i was involved with. i heard ratkeale were going to take this one all the way due to some email that was sent after cup had started stating rule..

I think we'll all agree that if Abbey won there'd have been nothing heard about this rule!
As I understand it the issue is B players filling in
As I've said above already its ludicris that a club cannot pick from their full pool of players to fulfill a cup tie when the player is not cup tied
I hadn't heard fanatic that Abbey won the objection - shur if Rathkeale appeal as expected the Desmond Cup will be set back weeks!
@Second - Haha, big bucks, is that where the dressing room fund went to!? I dunno if you could draw any conclusion on how/why they fell away so badly - I doubt they know themselves

Big call from the league! Presume Rathkeale are going to the Munster council!

well the rules about playing a b player in the cup are there so can't see rathkeale been left back in but have to say i think abbey should have sucked it up and taken the loss.replacing an A player with a B player doesn't make your team stronger so abbey in my opinion were beaten fair and square.even if they win the cup now i think it won't be the same.the gloss would be taken off it a little.

Big call from the league! Presume Rathkeale are going to the Munster council! I don't know will they though, they did break the rules like... as stupid a rule as it may seem id say the league had no choice!!
With regards to going to the Munster Council that will only draw out the season longer and may cost Rathkeale a few quid in the process!

both teams abbey and rathkeale thrown out. and i dont think rathkeale broke the rules as the rule doesnt exist.17 teams in all leagues didnt get any notice about some rule change reguarding b players not being allowed plays for a teams in cup competions. abbey lost the match, and from what i heard today desmond league doesnt have a leg to stand on. rathkeale to win the appeal i think. i feel sorry for newcastle west now having to wait so long for the final to come around

You're right on the cost - to appeal a red card/suspension i'm reliably informed its €250 a pop
It'd be worth the cost to hear an official high level line on whether a club registered player that isnt cup tied should be allowed to play - this isnt the league cup - squad registration shouldn't come into it for me, only whether you've played in the cup previously with another team be it a B team or otherwise

i agree with what everyone has said but i suppose rules are rules. so abbeyfeale dont get the game and rathkeale and abbeyfeale are out is it???? so its ballingarry and newcastle west in the final??

How is it abbey wont get to the semi final? surely a bye straight to the final for ballingarry isnt correct. I dont know the ins and outs of the rules but it seems rathkeale played a player who is signed with the b team and this is illeagal. Abbey lodged an objection and win it, if this is the rule its simple, abbey go through and rathkeale are out. even tough its harsh id imagine the rule SHOULD be if he didnt play desmond cup with the B team it should be ok to play with the A team, but for some reason this rule exists, sour grapes from abbey too id say, as they were beat by an understrength rathkeale side and objecting because they had a B team player on the pitch.

lets get this sorted once and for all abbey cant get to the semi as there letter sent to the desmond league was thrown out due to there being no objection and the fact that they made a few mistakes in typing it up the desmond league threw it out. also they lost the game 1-0. now for rathkeale's part in all this no information on b team to a team was never sent to rathkeale and also never sent to at least 16 more teams involved in desmond cup. desmond league actually have no grounds to throw rathkeale out as this rule doesnt exist its a mistake by desmond league its not in any rule book, munster rules and fai rules state that as long as a player is registered and isnt cup tied he is entitled to play these rules over shadow desmond league rules, now thats what i was told this morning anyway

well hopefully this will be all cleared up ASAP and ballingarry and rathkeale can play there semi final. Looks like the committee would want to sort this out at the end of the year on notifying clubs on rule changes.

id say rathkeale wont win the appeal so waste of time really. abbey should get the right to play ballingarry in the semi final cause its not right to put a team into a big cup final on a bye

Just heard there and apparently this was confirmed by a member of the Abbey committee also, that Abbey played a registered B team player during the mentioned game against Rathkeale & that's one of the reasons they are also being thrown out of the competition by the Desmond League.

it depends on what teams turn up against the 3 teams. if all turn up the points should stay the same but what kind of broadford team will travel when they have nothing to play for.will newcastle give fringe players a run against kileaney and abbey with nothing to play for if they are definately out of cup. will ballingarry have hurling even though they will want to keep momentum for cup final. i think kileaney and rovers are going to find it hard though.

I cant see Killeaney getting anything against NCW on Friday night.
The final game for each of the teams is winnable.
I'm gonna go for each of the 3 teams to win their final game and Glin to stay up.
Fair to play to each team for giving it a right go and not throwing the towel in
