No joke, I was going to put 50 quid on Lims as well as a tenner double on lims/drogs, but then got dragged away from the laptop for 20 mins, come back and Limerick are winning. I'm well and truly ****ed off now..

Limerick were 7/4 to win, with a full squad, great odds

Backed Limerick at 9/4 last night - bet of the season.
There was a few pound on them I'd say for them to come in to 7/4.

FT BRAY 1 LIMERICK 3,

great result

Strange game last night, Bray dominated the 1st 10/15 minutes, we were pulling there back 4 all over the place, Jason Byrne should have put us in front and then we had a stone wall peno for a hand ball waved away. After that though Limerick destroyed us for the rest of the half, could have scored 6 or 7!

The 2nd half was a different game though, Bray were by far the better side and penned Limerick in their own half, again poor finishing let us down, we created chance after chance but couldn't take them, Jayo could have had 7 or 8 on his own.

Overall it was poor to let a 1st division side beat us like that at home.

How seriously will St Pats and Shamrock Rovers take tonights game?

Also are Sligo likely to field a stronger side than Derry, as they had the weekend off since the demise of Monaghan?

The semi-finals were on at the start of August last year so would think the draw will be made in the next week or two. Next Monday on MNS would be the best bet.

Rovers and Limerick should be a good one. Would Limerick go all out to try get some European football next season?

Bank Holiday Monday so hopefully an early enough kick off which may bring a larger travelling support from us.

Its a semi-final of a cup so I'd expect us to be as strong as possible and much stronger than a few weeks ago in Tallaght.

We are better on the road also so away from home isn't too bad a draw for us.

Shams may want to make up for the poor showing in our last game so we could be in for a rough night.

No European football for the league cup. You're thinking of the english league cup.

Yeah, that's correct so a bit of money in it. Shame there being no Euro place though, would certainly make it more interesting. The FAI (I would presume) decided third place in the league deserved the Europa League spot more than secondary cup winners.

3rd place in League V Cup for reserve teams ? hardly a difficult choice for the FAI

Up the prize money a tad and give it a euro spot and you will quickly see it be taken a lot more seriously thou. Chicken and egg job.

....just to be clear, are you talking about the EA Sports Cup or the League ? Europa Lge place was introduced in EPL to boost the English League Cup but it has not worked. bearing in mind the tiny money available for League here I doubt getting increased winnings for EA Sports cup is high on the agenda (or even on it)

I don't think he was arguing the reasoning behind it or that it should be changed more pointing out that it must be their reasoning.

I think Acornvilla was just pointing out that it probably would be more important a competition if the europe place and prize money was bigger but their again I don't think he was arguing for it or implying it should ever be on the agenda.

I don't think comparing it to the English league cup holds any water whatsoever. If there was more money in it here, then clubs would obviously put more effort into getting as far as possible. Every cent counts in Ireland after all.

We were brutal tonight.

I'd love to see what Scully sees in Robert Klucair that he seems to have decided to drop Corie Treacy from centre back in a partnership that had started looking very good.

He made some mad decisions in that game tonight. At least it was in the Cup game and not on Friday night.

I see the final has been set for Tallaght. I don't doubt that stadium is the best in LOI outside Munster, but I cant see this as a fair venue for Drogs. It has been mutually agreed, but I dont understand that, its not like its the Setanta Cup Final (with us in 2011), the lge cup final will not attact as big of a crowd, and Tolka (albeit with its limitations) would have been a better and fairer option.

There's nowhere else, Tolka and Dalyer are in bad shape...Tallaght gives us a slight advantage but what can you do?

Has the league cup final ever been at a neutral venue?

Has the league cup final ever been at a neutral venue?

The league cup used to be played over 2 legs.

The league cup is not played at a neutral venue, the venue is decided by a toss of a coin between the 2 finalists. If one of the grounds does not meet minimum standards of holding the final then that club concede home advantage automatically.

What the capacity of United Park?
