bit of a debate over on the Bohs board about whether there is TV money for the games Setanta shows live. I thought that every team got appearance money and that TV appearnaces were factored into these funds but another poster is pretty adamant that there is 2k for the home team and 500 for the away. Can anyone verify either side of this one? cheers,,,
yeah dundalk defo got a few grand from appearance money last season. home team gets the total appearance money afaik.

Will it be Setanta handing over the cash to the clubs or is it through the FAI. The FAI have stopped compensating home teams for lower crowds when a game is on RTE !!!

The IFA president claimed a feew months ago that their teams didnt get their money on time. He claimed that the money is given to the FAI(for some reason) and that thye must distribute it. I cant find the piece, cant remember if it was in a paper or whether it was on the net. If any knows the piece Im referring to can you also have a look for it.

Strange one to move unless they planned on opening up a TV slot. There's Top 14 on both Setanta channels at that time.

Think the matches may have been brought forward beacause both Northern sides are out of the IFA cup(round of 32 this weekend i think) and must suit both LOI sides as well.

Lisburn are terrible. Excellent debuts from Patterson and Madden (two assists).

I listened to the game yesterday and Derry appeared to dominate proceedings from start to finish, regardless of how many men Distillery had on the pitch. Barry Molloy seemed to be lapping everything up in the midfield and Madden was putting a great amount of crosses in. Didn't hear much about Crossan at left back - commentators (Mariborkev) pointed out that he might suffer from the comparison to Lafferty, which was a fair point.

Aye its between them, Glenavon, Dungannon and Carrick for the drop from the NI League.
Carrick would be my pick though. they are completely brutal.

I actually thought that just as I posted it, slap on the aul wrist there. Maybe they're so bad they just don't deserve the name.

Based upon the opening ten minutes, you'd probably be better off giving it a miss.

Couple of great goals for Bohs, there's some very talented young players in their squad. Shame to see the Dalymount pitch in such a state, made it very difficult for both sides to play football.

I noticed this on the reports on ceefax last night. Same thing still on the web, as well as a 404 instead of the other report
This is what happens when you use cut and paste (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17021683)
Just in case they correct it.
Cliftonville 1-0 St Patrick's Athletic
Cliftonville go into the second leg of their Setanta Sports Cup tie against Bohemians with a one-goal lead thanks to Liam Boyce's second-half goal.
Unfortunatley the other report seems to be unavailable - the link currently (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17019436) on the home page is broken (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/irish/default.stm) - but the, remarkably similar, first paragraph told of how bohs now hold a one goal advantage.
i thought we played fantastically well last night for a young team in their first game against a pretty solid outfit in Portadown. Moores goal was special and he deserved MOTM. I thought the team really played well and it gives hope for the season ahead. Callaghan has really made some astute signings for the season ahead.
Anyone know if away goals count?
