dont be misleading people with incorrect info
its not new years day games but the bank holiday monday.the day after new years day. in fairness there not the gaa who have fitness tests new years day dont worry ye l still be able to ring in the new year and for those who are interested in playing soccer it caters for them as well. i thought soccerheads would be dying to play games over the festive season (weather permitting)
Players wont want games over Christmas for a variety of ideas but mainly because of the booze. Some lads will also be away over Christmas. Is there a reason behind this motion other than to rush the league through? If its just to get the laeague finished they should just scrap the league cup as it seems pointless to me.

wont matter what clare league do anyway.
should have league cup give teams time to organise themselves etc then
oh its a waste of time
come christmas and teams with limited games played will be giving out they dont have games

This is the statement from the lg regarding the games over Xmas. Cant see the problem in fairness.
There will be matches on St Stephen's Day 26th December and the Bank Holiday Monday 2nd January. Any club that does not want to play on the 26th December has the option not to play by letting the League know by Friday 9th December.
Best of luck to the OT team today.

Anyone else mortified?
In fairness to the league they have given good notice and also clubs can opt out.

I wasnt actually talking about the fixtures. The league committee will do what they like with them anyway! What is so embarrassing is what happened at the Oscar match earlier!

Why you mortified AWOL? It wasnt the leagues fault it rained heavy troughout the night and this morning, maybe the referees could have got to the pitch earlier for pitch inspection and not at 1.50pm. I was on the field warming up and it was ok although the ref was concerned about a particular part of the pitch, the league rang a couple of clubs(yours included) looking for another pitch, newmarket agreed but Galway wouldnt, dont know what more the clare league could do to be honest

You have been mis-informed, we were not contacted. but really look at the big picture was the pitch any more playable at 2pm than at 10am. Why did they wait till both teams were there and ready to make a call. There was no plan B. We were all going down to support ye as were a lot of soccer heads in the town and further, only to be told on the road down that the game was off. disrespectfull to a travelling team to do that to them especially at this level. And to you lads as well ye are putting in the hard work.

I agree that the pitch could have been inspected way earlier today. not too sure on the rule though, could the clare league have called the game off or is it ultimately up to the officials. only from watching sky sports I have seen that clubs have deemed their pitch playable only for it to be called off by the referee when they inspect. I guess its another trip to terryland park for us so, or will we keep home advantage? If galway play limerick before hand and dont get a result the game might not even go ahead. Apologies about earlier comment regarding yer pitch, it was mentioned as an option but obviously too late. Agree also its bad form for the travelling players/supporters, I had a brother travel from galway to come see the game also so he was very p..sed off.

Can you copy the outcome on foot please
It has been taken off the site now for some reason. I think it said, people mentioned in the ref's match report were banned and that each club received 300 euro fines as far as i can remember. Can't remember how long the bans were for. I think it was 4 games.
Can you copy the outcome on foot please
It wasnt left up long enough for anyone to copy!
Also, funny how the O T match was called of on Saturday and the second division league cup final went ahead on Sunday in torrents of rain! Where is the reasoning in some of the stuff that is going on. There is no consistency!

the great thing about Foot is that you can share your info with each and every memeber / non member of the league - everyone is up to speed and it gives the authorities no where to hide - so i encourage you to share your club secrets past or present no matter how of the wall they were / are - i'm sure there were a fair amount of favours done over the years

FYI - foot will not allow people to post hearsay and rumours on the site, it's a sure way to get the clare page locked. plus the league sec. is on very friendly terms with the admins on foot.ie
yes but you are allowed your opinions on here and facts regardless of how friendly the seceratary of the clare league is with foot.ie. on the claresoccer.net a number of posts are regularily taken down if it doesnt suit the clare league. I remember a discusion on the clareleague website that was taken down around the time the chairman had an article in the clarepeople and people were discussing the fact that he was giving out in the paper about the clubs voting to reduce the registeration fee by 10 euro and someone mentioned the clubs were a bunch of clowns for voting it in which started a debate and a hour later all the posts were taken down. Last time I looked we live in a democarcy and before anyone says this is rumour or hearsay this is a fact as i was one of the posters in the discussion, not the one saying the clubs were a bunch of clown btw;)

I think the reason posts get deleted on claresoccer.net is because lads are too cowardly to use their real names when slagging people..now any chance we get back to talking footie ..wins this weekend for avenue ,bridge A, rock ,Tulla ,and Newmarket .. Also massive best of luck to avenue youths on Saturday good team and a great bunch of lads..

Good wins for newmarket and olympic yesterday. We had a good old battle with burren ourselves in the FAI. Just about got over them with an extra time winner, sets us up for a repeat of last years clash with Classic FC next week. I would be hopefull that at least 3 clare teams can get through in the next round from next weekends fixtures, anyone agree?

it would be great a few clare teams get thru a few rounds of both munster an fAI..
Mastermind, sounds like ye had it tough against Burren. Did they have their footballers back playing for them? I personally thought ye would win comfortably. The Avenue & Ennis Town will have it tough against Newcastlewest and Classic but Newmarket should be too strong for Ballingarry.
Any results from the Premier this weekend? Good win for Olympic in Tulla

Dont think they had their footballers back, Martin McDonagh and Pat Nagle up front played very well. We scored early enough, then they went 2-1 up, we got it back to 2-2 before half time. Second half we were well on top, they scored for 3-2 on the break and we equalised with about 15 to go. they held on then till the last 5 mins of extra time before we got the winner. They stuck at all day and prob feel they deserved a pen shootout.
I think home advantage might be vital for ennis town and newmarket. Apparently Classic FC have got stronger since we played them away last year so tough game expected.

I dont know about this - NOF have the clare cup final on Sunday - we'll struggle to have 11 players on the field - thats the problem have so many GAA players on the panel - what are Ballingarry like anyone know ?

Good away win. Pitch very very heavy. Avenue controlled most of first half. Plenty of chances an possession. 1st goal straight in from a smithy corner. Could have been 3 or 4 their keeper made some great saves. Classic got a penalty an scored. Their only shot on target. 1-1 half time. Avenue did same in 2nd half plenty of possession an lots of chances. Mikey Mahoney great individual goal n Sean Corry came on to seal a comfortable win.

Any report on Mountshannon v Lifford match
We played Manus Celtic in Ennis on Sunday. Tough game for the most part but we pulled away in the last quarter to win 6 1. With the game in injury time however a Manus midfielder carried out the most despicable act I have ever seen. This tool went in two footed on our centre half minutes earlier, our player said nothing as the game was won and he wanted to play in the next round, he then stamped on our midfielder in the next play, again we said nothing. He then went to compete for a header with our midfielder which when he lost, he started ranting at the referee about why didn’t he get a free, once the referee correctly waved play on, this clown started to sprint with intent at our nearest player with the ball, our full back, who had the ball around two foot away from his left leg, this ape then left the ground, bypassed both the ball and our players left leg and instead focused on putting all his weight and pace into our players right leg, his standing leg. As a result, not only did he break our players tibia, he also broke his fibula and such was the impact, the tibia came through the injured players flesh. ''This tool then stood up, looked at the referee and shouted, that’s your f****ng fault referee, what about my free''. He then walked off and offered no apology or showed no remorse. Our player had his op this morning to insert two pins and a plate into his leg, he has been told to expect at least 3 months in cast, not good news for a self-employed carpenter with a new house and 6 month old child. If this tool kicks a ball again, then its a disgrace. Both his club and the league should take action in order to prevent this coward from doing this again. I don’t blame him for walking off in fairness, I could see it on his face that he knew what was coming if he stuck around, COWARD. In Fairness all other Manus players did apologize after.

That's shocking, according to the CDSL website Barry Guinnane was sent off for Manus last weekend, so I presume it's him that did this. According to the website he's been sent off at least one other time this season. Who was the ref?
Seeing this was in the FAI Cup it'll be the FAI that handle it, and not the Clare League, so this idiot will hopefully get a nice long ban...

Not sure who ref was, but we know it is in his report and we requested a copy this morning. On numerous occassions have players sustained broken legs in the past, myself included, most times its a result of carless tackles which were maybe a small bit wreckless, We had a player break his jaw against Bridge 6 weeks ago, again it wasnt meant, I have never seen anyone go in intentionally to cripple someone until Sunday. I hope his club have enough about them to take action.

If I was you I'd get your club to write a strong letter to the FAI about this incident, copying the Clare League and your own league. You should emphasise the fact that the victim is self-employed and will be out of work for quite some time.
I really hope that the Manus player gets a very long ban, there's no place in any sport for this, in amateur sport where the lads have to get up for work the next day it's especially serious.

This fellow should never again kick a ball, Its a disgrace that this fellow cant appreciate that we all have a family and a job to go to. I hope the FAI take a strong stance. Who is to say it wont be some 17 or 18 year old he will do it to next week

If the incident happened like it was described than that fellow shouldn't kick a ball for a very long time, but we all know that disciplinary matters in junior football can be a hit-and-miss affair, so I'd really recommend your club take a proactive role, and write a letter to the authorities.
Manus seem to have been involved in a number of serious incidents this season already, I wonder if it's the same idiot who's behind all of them?..

what ever about it being the same idiot being involved, it is definitely the same committee dealing with the problems. And if they stuck to their own rules and played by the book it would cut out these problems. Again I would say consistency and honest interest in the game and the development of the game would go a long way and not this one up-man-ship muck that seems to have crept in. Lets see how the league deal with this and will the young lad who was injured be looked after in all this? ... Not defending the actions of that other young fellow in any way but a manager also knows the capabilities of his players should he have been pulled off before this incident occurred?

AWOL your talking rubbish.. It was a cup match nothing to do with your league.. It's an fai issue to sort out.. If your so worried about your own committee why don't you join it and improve it..
