I didn't get to go to the game last night but from what i am hearing this morning Darren Murphy was one of the best for Clare. So if he isn't good enough for OT team, how come he not just played last night but played well???? How many games have you seen him play to have this opinion of him?
a defender played well and still defence conceded 4 goals :confused: must have been the 3 other poor players around him who were at fault:D
i've seen him play in numerous games, just doubted if he is good enough for OT, maybe he is if he played well. but i agree with old git how can a defender play well if their team has a loss by 4 goals??
Limerick were a different class and they look like very serious contenders for the OT. Despite being outclassed, some of the Clare lads performed very well and held their own. Mastermind is correct in saying that the 2nd goal was a killer blow right on the stroke of half time. I doubt it was even a free kick in the build up.
Great experience for the clare lads depite losing

Planners, next fixture is 22nd/23rd October I think. Hopefully the Clare league will take a leaf out of the LDMC book and only charge 5 euro like it was to watch last night, unlike the 10 euro they robbed us for at last years match in Doora.
Devilfish at the end of the day the monies are to improve facilities at Clare headquaters - Limerick have a bigger pick and wouldnt rely so much on the gate !!- i dont think its much to ask for - come on !
Also Clare league brought the Limerick lads for dinner last year and the Limerick lads didnt return the favour by all accounts - maybe the extra €5 was to cover the Limerick lads dinner ?

LDMC wouldn't bring their own,bad form out of them.they should have returned the compliment, and ill bet you they were the first to stuff their faces,

10 euro charge way to expensive for junior football , i thought the increased signing on fees brought in years ago were to be used to improve facilities at clare headquarters !! what has been done at doora in the last few years  was the pitch even closed a few seasons ago due to wear & tear

match was on wednesday night,so where would you be going at 9.30 to 10.00 pm for dinner???
i'm sure that if the fixture was an afternoon kick off that they would have looked after the calre team.
and i agree with previous poster...10 euro is too much, particularly in the current financial climate.....

lads, before this escalates into farce, planners where do you come up with this info?
the clare boys were well looked after the other night, go and actually ask one of them before you dream up your rubbish.
And as for last year the limerick contingent had to go to the west county for dinner, and the ldmc paid for this.
So that is two statements wrong in one post, that is even good for you.
Would the two of you go away and stop annoyng everyone on here with this drivel as it is getting boring.

Clare lads were well looked after alright, but by their own. Clare league asked limerick league to supply some food after the game and they wouldnt do it so clare supplied it and invited limerick players and coaches to help themselves.
Was it a football competition or Master Chef competition ye were at? Honestly if the bit of dinner after is what the problem is then we are all in trouble!

this is only their second year in clare league, last year they won the third division, scoring lots of goals. They wear orange tops, shorts and socks. Not sure what the pitch is like as havent seen it before. I d imagine ye should have too much for them though

Head into the centre of Gort hang a left if coming from the South, follow the road out you will see a Supervalu shop, past this about 200 yards on the right you will see a sign for Gort Rugby Club , it is this pitch we played them on last year.
If coming off the motorway take the second exit back into the town, second right at the centre of town and rest as above.

go to Gort square -take the right hand turn at O'gradys pub { if your coming from the motorway } - then out that road for about 1/2 mile - on the right hand side

Lads. Just looking on clare soccer.net at the premier division. How come Burren & Shannon Olympic havent any games played yet. They are not even down to play any games this weekend. I just find it very strange. Wonder when kilmurry -Ibrickane are eventually beaten will the burren suddenly have games. How come the limerick league have 8-9 games played and the clare league only have 0-2 games. Is there a bit of sportsmanship Mr. Burren.
We were down to play Burren in our first league game 2 weeks ago but game was called off due to a bereavement on of a relative of some of the Burren players.
Shannon Olympic have had a prelimanary game in MJ and with other teams also playing first and second rounds of MJC might account for their lack of league games.
The league cup, good idea imo, also delayed the start of the league plus the blanket cancellation of premier games the weekend before OT game had an affect on fixtures.
Although looking at this weeks fixture list you might have a point, alot of premier teams have no fixtures !!!. They could have played eachother this weekend.
What number of Limerick games has been played is moot.

There's a reply on the Clare League website which seems to be a reply to this post?!! It says the Olympic, Burren and Hermitage all have requested a free weekend this weekend so that explains why they've no games.
Olympic and Hermitage have had FAI and MJC cup games which would explain their lack of league games, I'm not sure if Burren entered either of those competitions, but it seems to be a well accepted fact in Clare that the 2 new competitions at the start of the season and the weekend off for the Oscar Traynor game have been supported/orchestrated by Mr. Burren to keep their league campaign from starting before the Gaelic season ends...

They have 29 players registered, surely they are not all involved with the Quilty footballers. I don't think this theory holds up, if they win the Football Championship they head into Munster Club and who knows how far from there, they may be playing till Paddy's Day.That must be their target. Surely they will have to play a Clare League game with some of the 29 signed that aren't involved in the GAA.

There were definately 2 Bridge Utd players watching it..lol
Hi lads, Just wondering where abouts Manus FC are from and what are they like

2 players, a manager and a bridge utd supporter sent off, refereeing was 'questionable'.. on a different note, newmarket looked poor and this against 10 players for most of the match nd 9 for 20 minutes. bridge had a few missing also..

The long hair ref (keeping names off web site) in the above post is always trying to be the center of attention at any match he ref's. One of the worse ref's in Clare but someone in the League likes him as he is always doing prem matches.

fair enough - tend to agree with you - -
anyway - rumour going around that there has been a motion put forward by the clare league higher arch. that games should be played on St Stephens Day and New Years Day - how would players / management feel about that ? -
Best of luck to the OT tomorrow. Hopefully a few young lads and inexperienced guys will get a run to see if they are up to it. Seems like a good time to experiment.
Re the Christmas kick off I wouldnt be a fan of it especially the New Years Day idea. Seems like the Clare league are panicing to get the league played
