Does anyone agree that play off finals OR any final should NOT be played during a week day

The last thing lads want to do after work is play a match never mind play a final + players are away working and in college

Is Con leaving or what? Best of luck to him anyway. Good game of football in Doora last night between Avenue and Ennis Town Rock. Such a pity it was ruined by the Avenue line and their continuous harassment of the officials. Some decisions were so blatantly obvious and their management and support were going berserk. I dont know what happened after the full time whistle but they let their club down.

Aye goodluck to con in the future. Getting married soon and moving up north. A great player for all the clubs he played for and had great days with the county aswell. Oscar traynor semi final against cork 2 or 3 years ago springs to mind when himself and Mike O Malley played unbelievable stuff or the last minute lob over the keeper against the cork shipping league to get us thru to the quarters.

for an end of season kick around for a meaningless cup there was plenty of bite in it. what happened at end? heard lots of shouting?

All I could see from the dressing room was one or two Avenue lads losing it with the officials. I don't know what happened or what was said but considering Avenue won and could have no complaints with the refereeing (although dodgy against both sides!) they should have accepted their win and moved on. Great game and it certainly wasn't meaningless to either team. Avenue were lucky to win and really should have been further behind at half time.

Best of luck to Con btw!

The assistant referee refused to shake the managers hand after the game and he refused to wait for the award of the trophy. Dont know much of the circumstances behind why they had an altercation, think it was something to do with the cup final between newmarket and ave b where the same man was also doing the line.

On another note, did any 1 here that the Oscar Traynor team has a friendly lined up against Athlone Town on the 20th june?

Would be a fantastic friendly if it's true. Clare Youths played there against their full team last year and were unlucky to lose 2-0 but they're a very good outfit and the O.T squad can learn a lot from them, like the youths did. And anyone know the O.T squad or who should be on it and isn't?!
