Ack, 2-1 to the Czechs. Great goal from distance but should never have been allowed the shot in.

i think its their own fault for not trying to close out the gamae and scoring again. we are far better technically than them.

Fantastic full length save there from McCarey, looks a great keeper so far

Everything ive seen so far, would suggest otherwise.

Would it be right to say if they beat Romania they are as good as through?

Dissappointing. The Irish curse seems to seep down to the underage sides too. We look to clearly have the beating of these sides but we sit back after getting an early goal and allow them to play football and before you know it they're in front. By which time any ideas and creativity has evaporated and we're reliant on smashing long diagonal balls into the box which the keeper can easily deal with. After the first 45 minutes it looked like the Czech were fairly rattled too. Like I said dissappointing but we must show some more mettle against these Romanians in the next match.

Just saw the fine goal Robbie Brady scored today for Hull V Liverpool on SSN. Pity he's not in Romania . . . . . .

Am I right in thinking that Greece¨s win over Romania means we are guaranteed to go through if we beat Romania, and if Ireland and Greece both draw on Tuesday?

If Ireland and Greece both lose it´ll be complicated.

Is our next game on Eurosport and at what time? I´m in Mallorca but there are plenty of sports bars with Eurosport.

While I´m on: Is Rovers´ game on Weds on RTE and if so, what time? There´s an Irish bar with GAA on TV so they must have RTE.

(Tets or PO´S, or anyone with my mobile no., maybe you could text me the answer...)

doesn't look like it's being televised, not on setanta or rte anyway

It doesn't seem to be in the listings yet but Rovers' game on Wednesday will be live on Setanta. Presumably the freeview channel.

I only saw the first half of the match yesterday and the start of the second half but we looked very comfortable. Had to leave just after Kane Ferdinand came on but it seemed like a very defensive move and it seems we lost control of the game soon after. Then again, if it had worked we'd have been praising Doolin.

There was an interview with Samir Carruthers in Saturday's Herald where he said something along the lines of "I'm new to this being Irish thing." He also revealed he and Derrick Williams are training with the Villa first team too. Williams seems to have an interesting story too: he was born in Germany to an Irish mother and moved to Tramore when he was 7, which just goes to show there's no accounting for taste.

For once I'm going to be optimistic and say we can beat the hosts. But the next stage is as far as we'll go.

Romanian television and Eurosport 2 are broadcasting it: http://liveonsat.com/LJ_foot_I_uefa_jr.php

I don't think RTÉ are showing Rovers' away tie in Copenhagen. Danish TV3 are though, I believe. Maybe you'd get a stream in an internet café. RTÉ will be televising the home leg on the 2nd of August however.

Eurosport rarely if ever do any pre-game filler so I'd say it'l kick off fairly shortly after the program begins at 5pm.

A draw is good enough for Ireland?

Have to say I am expecting a last minute goal to put them out!

that knight fella on the left wing has been just awful since he came on - offered nothing.

Nah - greece are 1 down too so if we lose 1-0 we still go through, just!

I am sat here saying the same thing, I can see why Leicester have released him.

Saying that, Ireland truly look awful, this is the third game of this tournament I've seen them, very bad.

True, one or two good tricky players but so many just look so heavy-legged and unfit - not sure if it's the heat though.

In saying that, Doolin's usual tactics in away euro games at club level seem to have carried on.

They've looked OK in the other games but this has probably been their worst performance. Lucky enough to get a draw out of it.

Yea I tuned into the game late, seems to have started an hour earlier than advertised or I lost an hour somewhere - lol.

Anyway looks like they are through, final minutes now.........and indeed final whistle.

Well done to the Irish lads!!

Great achievement.

Watched the last fifteen or so, well done for getting through, but they seemed to be kicking it aimlessly away a fair bit when needing to keep it and kill the game from the little bit I saw. Still, well done to them.

Did you see them against Greece?
I wouldn't say they are awful but the lump it forward football is frustrating to watch. They were playing a Romanian team who threw everything at them, who had nothing to lose and went at it relentlessly, considering all that, the Irish lads did well to get through to the semi final.
