Anyone have any idea if the game on Wednesday will be televised/streamed somewhere?
Eurosport are showing the Romania/Czechs & Spain/Belgium wednesday.
On Saturday they're showing Serbia/Spain & our game V Czech Rep at 5pm
That's what my sky guide is telling me anyway....

There will be family members there too. We had about 100 fans in Turkey in 2008 for the U17s but my 2 mates and me were the only ones without connections to the players.
Yeah was in tongue-in-cheek re.TF but admire your, er, collective dedication. Have to say a week or so in Bucharest doesn't really appeal, mind.

Bucharest's obvious appeal at this time is the Euro Finals, where Ireland will be playing at least 3 games.

We know.
It still doesn't appeal though.

I assume McGovern is his father's surname.
Was just looking at the odds for the Greece game with William Hill and they have Greece as very slight favourites to win at 11/8 with us at 13/8 to win. The odds for a draw are 21/10. I don't think the game is being televised anywhere, either on Eurosport or Romanian television, so it doesn't look likely there'll be a stream, unfortunately. I can't see any sign of UEFA streaming the games on their site either. Ireland's game with Romania on Tuesday the 26th will be televised on Romanian television, so I'd be hopeful of a stream for that. Of course, Eurosport are televising the one this Saturday against the Czechs. Both those games are at 5PM Irish time. Kick-off against Greece is at 7PM Irish time.
Will we be wearing the new jersey then?

Streams for the opening game between Spain and Belgium at 5PM this evening will be available here: http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=123278&part=sports
Might be worth keeping an eye on Spain as they're strong favourites to win the competition outright. They might even play some nice football too.
Hopefully, links for the Romania-Czech Republic game in our group will appear here at some point later: http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=123279&part=sports

1-0 Spain at the moment. But the players are off the pitch because of thunderstorms and fork lightning.
Good passing move, bit lucky at the end but Morata from Real Madrid scored from 6 yards.

Serbia are 1-0 up against Turkey. Miloš Jojić of FK Teleoptik scored in the 57th minute. About 10 minutes to go in that game.
I see there's diving (not of the footballing variety) on Eurosport at the minute. I'd been hoping they might have switched to broadcasting the Serbia-Turkey game.

from that article:
except for the UEFA U17 Championships in 2008
There's quite a long article in the magazine section of the Sunday Independent debating the level of interest in the Irish soccer team, compared to rugby and golf (seriously, golf) in the national psyche, where John Delaney's salary is quoted as €420,000. Elsewhere in the same paper, it's mentioned as €450,000. Whether it is or it isn't, or if he deserves it is a debate for another day, but some level of consistent reporting would help! The Indo has a very anti-football agenda right now and are very quick to put a halo around all things rugby related. However, I thought the article you refer to was a decent enough article in fairness and Mick Wallace's quotes were bang on and added balance. It was strange that The Indo felt that Trap, being another foreigner wheeled in to tell us what to do, might be a factor. I didn't hear many complain about Joe Schmidt!
Irish Times today reports that only about 1,000 Irish will travel to NZ for the rugby, but will be joined by the ex-pat / backpacking entourage. That's pretty disappointing I reckon.
Anyway, I'm just back from a few days with my family in Rathfarnham. The Stuttgart Rathfarnham Castle Playground survey repeated its April result: Of the kids wearing branded sports gear there was one one Dublin GAA, one Leinster rugby shirt, one Leinster pair of tracky bottoms, 2 Arsenal shirts (brothers I think - dad must be a fan!), 2 Man U, 2 Liverpool, one Argentina football, one Italy football. Only one Ireland football shirt and it was one of those unofficial Dunnes Stores jobbies. One grown up was wearing an Irish rugby shirt.
Of those playing games on the grass, there was one group of hurlers, one group playing football and two lads with a rugby ball. I think there were all part of the same larger group - which confirms my view that kids now play everything, which is good.

Might be lucky if it's played this evening at all. From what I can make out, Mogoşoaia, where the Spain-Belgium game was called off due to adverse weather, is 8 kilometres away from Buftea, where our match is taking place. Any update on it?
As for the Serbia-Turkey game, 64th minute substitute, Nikola Trujić, put Serbia 2-0 up in the 89th minute in. Game just finished there. Not a surprising result considering how Serbia performed in qualifying, although I don't understand at all why they were considered such outsiders to win the competition outright by the bookies.

Nicolae Stanciu puts Romania 1-0 up against the Czechs with what looked like a freak effort from just outside the right edge of the box. Looked like he was attempting a cross with the side of his foot but somehow managed to misfire it past the completely lost keeper and into the net at the far post.

you've got to be careful hanging around all these playgrounds Stutts.as they say in gladstone park 'no adults unaccompanied by kids'
rathfarnham is far from a GAA stronghold.more so soccer way more so rugby so that has to be a good thing.
