There are some players with the likes of kileaney, carrig celtic and a few more who are every bit as good as some of the players in the squad and are hungrier and fitter. I stopped playing a few years ago but i still reckon i could turn quicker than some of the players in the squad who were great players in their day but are probably picked on reputation rather than form. I have
nothing against these fellas, they were great players but i think its time to pick players who really want to represent
their league instead of some who are past it a bit and others
who see it as a burden

Its not my job to single out any players but sounds like u might be a bit sour about all this. You wouldnt happen to be in the squad yourself would you?

No lads, I've never been on the panel, I just find it sad that fellows like yourselves are prepared to cut down ye're own, I'm not a betting man but I'd bet that you 2 were probably part of the bandwagon parade a few years ago with these same players. I still don't see a name of a player who should be on the panel, from ye're posts I'd say ye are two confident lads who believe in yourselves a little bit too much, have limited ability, and believe ye should be on the panel, and since ye never got the call, ye now have it in for christy and the boys. Grow up lads and get behind YERE team

I am not against anyone or the team at all. I have just looked at the squads from the last few years and its very rare to see anyone outside of the top division on the team. I am not saying i know anyone who is good enough but surely within the other 4 divisions there is atleast 1 or 2 players good enough for the team.

I play with a premier side and have not seen any member of the managment at our games to date, how would there be unless we were playing Broadford. A Broadford player named in the squad who has not even played a game this season.There needs to be an independent manager like Christy was the year we won it. Definately players in the squad who are past their best, but at least they are prepared to put in the effort and play. Hopefully they get out to a few more games before the return leg and add a few players.

You couldnt really be more wrong about me. Im just being honest and saying what most other people are thinking. Is that not what this forum is all about? You cant pick the best in form players if you dont see them playing or at least send some scouts to watch different games. It wouldnt take too many to watch the contenders over the space of 3 or 4 weeks

Sure how can the management pick players for the squad when they are the management for broadford already..why do ye think they have loads of broadford players on the squad already..broadford don't need all the managers there at their games so why don't they send them to different upcoming games..but lads you have to look at other players also who turned down to play for the squad..loo at the shannonside boys.o connor,Daniel Power,mike behan all turned down the chance to play this year..same reason for the quilligans from rathkeale..if I was still playing I know for one thing I wouldn't turn down the chance to represent my league

Munster Junior Cup
Newcastlewest 3-2 Abbeyfeale
Went to this game this morning missed the first ten minutes but all in all a very entertaining game...both sides played some lovely football with the added bit of a cup tie...both teams had chances but I felt ncw had the more clear cup but failed to finish an nervy last ten first Ncw but all in all I felt they deserved the win in the end

Heard it was a great game today in the ncw v abbeyfeale. Was talking to someone and he told me it was a great game..he also said Newcastle west were missing few players?? Also heard rathkeale beat shannonside 1-0 with a late goal..anyone conferm this?

Great wins for NCW and jerry cronin and especially Rathkeale against shannonside that result will keep the chase for the league very interesting.
Who got the Broadford goals the weekend?
Tough matches for Rathkeale, Ballingarry and Broadford this weekend would be great to see them all go through, outside of those fixtures you would expect the remaining Desmond League sides to progress against weak opposition.

A few years ago Abeyfeale got to the last 16 and then the following year Newcastlewest got to the last 16 think they both lost in extra time too.....

Didn't rathkeale go far maybe 2 or 3 years ago? Lost to ballymun at home..think it was the 7th round they were beaten in..I could be wrong

Big games not only for the Desmond league clubs this weekend but also for the Desmond League itself. Its important that our clubs prove more competitive than Kerry opposition, Hopefully our teams come out on top particularly Ballingarry and Broadford who are playing two stalwarts of Kerry soccer, Hopefully Newcastle Rovers and Afc, Rathkeale and Shannonside will all have too much for there opposition

Coole Fc 2-5 newcastle west
Ncw went up 3-0 before coole fc got one back from bad mistake by ncw keeper..ncw missed a penalty but scored 2 more before coole fc scored.least 6 yards offside..ref was crazy.worst iv ever seen.scorers were Gary shanahan Charlie power and Keith Power got a hat trick

As far as I am aware 2nd round munster junior cup games are not on until 19/20 november
