Expectations for the final?
Personally I would have been alot more confident with Ryan and Blinks back in the team but now I think its very much up for grabs.
On the ticket front they seem to be moving well here, were first on sale at half 3 yesterday, apparently sold 5,500 yesterday.

Going to go to this myself. €10 in is such great value. Hopefully I can get tickets from the FAI store on Westmoreland Street. Don't really fancy giving Ticketmaster a booking fee if I can avoid it.

For once the FAI in pricing WIN.

The pricing is great a lot of people going just to have a nosey at the aviva for a tenner might even hit the 30k mark would expect at least 10k from each club and possibly another 10k neutrals.

It's a great idea regards the ticket prices. Hopefully there'll a crowd of in and around 20,000 or more.
It's a pity to see Sligo hit with suspensions, it's very harsh for players to miss out on a cup final because of a culmination of bookings over the course of the season. With the Premier only being a Leinster/Connaught league, it's probably fitting the final is Connaught versus Leinster affair.

Excellent numbers there. I plan on being in the thick of you. Shamrock Rovers will easily bring over 10,000 too. I reckon there'll be 25,000 at it. Looking forward to it.

I reckon we will have 15000 at this game, thats what we bought to Lansdowne in '94 and the interest in this game is massive.

For fans of "neutral" clubs feel free to wear a bit o' red for the day

14th of November 2010 "Sligo for a Day" day. :D

There was only about 15,000 at it! More like 10,000 from Sligo, maybe a bit more this year.

No doubt but of greater concern is officials . clear to see how they stopped a bray team that wasn't even at full strength to ensure shams got the league . We will probably need to have a 3-0 lead in first half to allow for the two sending offs . Fai will be creaming themselves at the prospect of their team doing the double so I'd say our chances have gotten slimmer since they were givin the league .

That's probably asking a bit too much - I'd have no objection to fans of Shels, Pats, Derry or even Bohs or Longford turning up in their own colours.

Sligo will prob have alot of extra support from every other club in the league that day so expect a big "support" for Sligo in the Aviva cause everyone else hates Rovers!

Yep, I'd be the same as De Town... BTW, I suppose there will be a special train running from Sligo and back for the game? Is there? Any chance it would stop in Longford???

Keen2win/Town: I was told if you buy your tickets anywhere else but Sligo you'll end up in the Shams end. Keen2win: There's a supporters bus that I'm sure would stop for you somewhere on the N4. Martinho's getting it I think.

Are the Longford fans adopting a Rovers player for the day like we did in the '07 final with the Wex? I suggest Jim Lauchlan.

Tickets are flying out the door in sligo was in the club shop in the town and all they had was behind the goal, hopefully the fai will be forced to open the upper tiers.

Ah no, we'd prefer the train, thanks for the tip tho!

They'll open the higher tiers when the lower tier (singing section) sells out behind the goal.

edit: We're in the South and West stand Keen, I think.

Thats where you want to be, everyone I know is getting in the South Stand.
The sheer amount of day trippers in the west stand would drive me mental.

Over half of our allocation has been sold already (6 of 11 blocks of the ground sold out), and that's before a big push to fairweather Hoops/neutral Dublin fans.

How many seats are there roughly per section?

Rovers have sold about 7,500 tickets so far and thats a conservative estimate.
Tickets going on ticketmaster(spit!) tomorrow.
Rovers will sell a load of tickets on Friday at Derek Treacy's testimonial as well i'd wager.
It will also give Rovers fans a chance to wave hankies at pinocchio byrne!

As far as know the bottom tier holds just under 20,000. So doing some very rough maths about 1,000 for the big sections.

Can I propose we talk about "Shams" and "Sligo" for the rest of this thread, and leave aside the petty "Rovers" thing until after the final?

How about this, The winner of the final will forever be known as Rovers on here, So if Sligo Rovers lose they will be 'Sligo' and if Shamrock Rovers lose they will be 'Pigs'

Sounds fair to me

peadar1987

Sounds like a plan (apart from the "pigs" part, Shams would do fine!)

So, any fans of either Rovers want to put their moniker where their mouth is?!
