Shamrock Rovers have sold out their initial allocation of tickets for the final and have gone back to the FAI to try and get more :)

I phoned the FAI shop on Westmoreland Street this morning. They're not stocking tickets. It's just the two clubs and Ticketmaster.
P.S. I just checked the Ticketmaster website and they've pushed back the release of general sale tickets until Saturday.

Sounds like a plan (apart from the "pigs" part, Shams would do fine!)
So, any fans of either Rovers want to put their moniker where their mouth is?!
Right if you say so..

Rovers have just been given another three sections of the ground so unless they open the top tier as well, it looks like the game will sell out and there'll be no day-of-game purchases. It's looking like it'll be a hell of an atmosphere.

Says in local paper that Sligo Rovers have nearly sold 10,000 ticket allocation. I bought mine, on Tuesday (raging, should have gone in early) and there were just a few tickets left for the South (110) and West stand (128).
How many can Shams bring?
What's Sligo's best estimate for maximum Sligo crowd 12,500? 13,000?
It looks like the lower tier (20,000) should sell out no problem.
What about filling the 18,500 in the upper tier?
Compared to being blown out of it in Tallaght last cup final and waiting for cold chips and drinks at half-time -- ain't this some S***

Was told there might be some premium level seats opened. I know from the ireland games i was at, the view in lower East stand is quite poor particularly in first 10-15 rows. Quite difficult to see far side of pitch. Going on sales so far should be a great occasion

Those unfortunate enough to have 10 year tickets for the Aviva are entitled to attend the cup final as part of that package. So id imagine the premium level will be open also.
Wonder will the 24,000 crowd for the Drogs / Cork final be topped ? Probably will, given according to various sources there must be 20,000 tickets sold already.

What does that diagram on the previous page mean? What do the colours symbolise? Also, there have be tickets available on the day. The two clubs have sold great amounts but the neutrals on the day could really help the overall attendance. It's going to be a huge crowd.

There is huge scope for neutrals to attend this game, especially given the prices on offer.
However, the way the tickets are being distributed ignores this potential.
Is there are family area set aside for neutrals?
Sections behind the north goal in green are Ultras
Next 3 sections are family sections, all the rest are unreserved sections. Anything with an x has been sold out by Rovers.

Would love to be going to this. It will be some day for the LOI. Would be great to see RTE doing big advertising for it and a bg build up. If it keeps selling tickets like it already has it deserves it.

if I was to guess I would say that ticketmaster had to delay the general sale due to the lower tier being nearly full Im sure that on Saturday the tickets on sale will be the upper sections not to open it would be madness.

They expect to sell 10,000 in the club shop, close to 7,500 were sold by yesterday but many were holding back to buy until more Childrens tickets became available today. So 10,000 plus those who decide to travel on the day.

At times like this it's a pity that Paul the Octopus is no longer with us.
But I'm going to take a wild stab and say they'll be against it.

How much would a taxi cost from Amien st. to Landsdowne Road?? or would a bus be the way to go?
For the West stand, dart or 7 bus from o connell st to ballsbridge and walk.
For the East stand, 3 from o connell st through Ringsend and walk

We should walk the track from Sligo- Connolly, then do the Luas to the O2 and back, then the Dart line to Lansdowne.

You Sligo Rovers fans sicken me...
Had a fantastic conversation with a random sligs fan on a night out who berrated me for a good 10 minutes and compared our style of football as just "hoof it to twigg". Suffice to say I think he's in for a shock on Sunday. (although its well known sligo play the best brand of football)

In fairness to Shams they did play some decent football at times, especially in the second half of the season from what I seen. The flip side to that is that any team who puts their centre-half up as a third striker with 10-15 minutes to go in a game and takes long throws and lobs balls into the box, you can see why peole might call it hoofball.
After we all finish having sexual intercourse with them of course.

Have they opened up the top tiers ? Went on to Ticketmaster to get tickets and it has block's 304 premium and 506 which is upper. Can't get any lower level tickets on it.

East, West, South Upper stand all open on Ticketmaser. You must select Ticket price 10 euro to select Upper stands. to select Premium seating you must select the price at 30 euro.

€2 booking fee per ticket. What a joke. How do they justify a fee that's 20% of the ticket price?

All lower tier tickets are sold out.
Just premium (€30) and upper (€10) level tickets left.

Bottom tiers have been sold by the two clubs. Rovers have fully sold all 10,000 of our allocation and I think Sligo are close to doing the same. Premium and top tiers only on ticketmaster.

Great work from both clubs in terms of ticket sales, now we just need the fai to promote this game big time and get the neutrals off their bums out to the game for what could be an amazing day for irish football :)

They are making it hard for neutrals to buy tickets. Ticketmaster is the only source available with a booking fee. The FAI should have a caravan available on the day of the match or else sell them in their shop in Dublin.
The attendance of 30,000 at Bray & St. Francis in 1990 may be beaten.

On Monday Shamrock Rovers will have a further allocation, you can buy online from the club shop and will get the tickets posted out to you that day, no booking fee or anything. You can choose what section you sit in to make sure you're not in with Ultras but instead in a more family/neutral section if you want. Check shamrockrovers.ie tomorrow and follow the link to online shop.

Good to see so many tickets being sold by the clubs and credit to the FAI for pricing it so well to get so many people to go to the game. I would say there'll be more people at the final on Sunday then will be at the rugby international the day before it
As regards to the game itself O'Neill did make a very good point on MNS about how high up the pitch we press teams. I think it's a huge part of our game that while we do pass the ball very well we make it very hard for teams who play against us to play the ball out from defence as well. The last game in Tallaght in the first half for the first 10 minutes Shams tried to play it out from the back but the pressure was just too much so they started hitting it long to Twigg.
